nope, permanently ruining a truly historic piece with garbage semi precious stones is ludicrous. What happened to those emeralds? is what I want to know! @@duelenigma7732
I would have preferred that the emeralds had been retained. Having said that it's rare to see turquoise used in a tiara, so I still find it eye-catching.
My favorite pieces are the Napoleon Diamond necklace, the Marie Louise Diamond and Emerald necklace and earings and the Papal Tiara. As for the diamond and turquoise tiara I liked it better with the emeralds. A question of personal taste.
Stunning opulence. I wonder the source of the emeralds in the spectacular set now in the Louvre. Heard the best emeralds are from Colombia but wonder if these came from elsewhere... India?
Really not a fan of the use of turquoise in any formal jewelry, I consider it an informal jewel. They actually ruined the tiara when they took out the original emeralds.
This is why i plan on making jewelry in the future! Im going to use the gold I find & make along with various gems i found to make my own beautiful jewelry! Hopefully 1 day a famous person will wear a piece of my jewelry!🏆🙏🏆
I would like to know why the emeralds were replaced with the unsightly turquoise? I really looked so much better before with the green gem not the blue. 😢
I love the heck out of this whole video! ❤️🔥 Unlike some other commenters here, I actually adore the replacement of the emeralds with (Persian) turquoise fit for American royalty (Mrs. Post). 😍 The cost of the original would have been prohibitive for sale to anyone else except Vanderbilt or Rockefeller or someone like that. Emperor Napoleon was extravagant and generous to himself and his wives. 🤩
Imagine being napoleans wife and getting that necklace, that probably really made her realize just how powerful her husband was now.. shes lucky he loved her so dedicatedly for that time
I am quite confused on how they made or craft diamonds and steels in those previous of time it is more detailed and clean ❤ it amazed me... Knowing they doesnt have machines etc...
A lots of pieces are missing here considering the large amount of jewelry Napoleon gifted to his wifes, family members and adopted children. The most delicate pieces are now possesion of the swedish royal family: cameo, amethyste, malachite, saphir etc parures mostly coming from Napoleon first wife: Empress Josephine
Find and replace the emeralds necessary to restore that tiara. Turquoise? Not appropriate to the piece. And someone should recreate Napoleon's leaf crown. I'm sure it could be done.
Can't tell whether the stones are poorly matched, or if some have discolored from age or other reasons, but it looks cheap now. I believe V&A made a killing selling the original stones in various "Napoleonic" pieces afterwards.

Why is the word “JEWELRY” spelled-and said-“Jew - WELL - er - y”?!?!? Is it because somebody else had “Jewelry Pleasure” so you thought you’d misspell the word. Maybe your AI narrator chose it? Anyway, I can’t subscribe to a channel with such *tomfoolery* (RHYMES with *“JEWELRY,”* hahahahaha!).
The papal tiara is not the original. It was enlarged so it could be worn and the stones it contains are glass. Also, you pronunciations are appalling. Neither French nor English.
Beautiful and stunning jewellery . I like emeralds very much. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I love Emeralds but hate working with them as they are so brittle
Looks brand new
This was one of the best episodes. Absolutely mesmerizing presentation.
Glad that you like it! Thanks for your warm words!
The most I love is the Emerald Set. Very beautiful. Thank you for your documentation.
Yes, I’m happy that Louvre museum bought this set. Thanks for your comment
Interesting video as always! Thank you very much!
Thanks for the feedback!
If to choose a design, i will love the first diamond necklace design because it looks traditional & elegant☺️
Those turquoise stones ruined that exquisite tiara… lol 😎. Napoleon owned some unusual crafted pieces of jewellery. 😊
a matter of taste

Why do I love that golden leaf so much?
I think it’s because of exclusivity of this leaf
It’s pure elegance

I would like to know why the emeralds were replaced with the unsightly turquoise?
I really looked so much better before with the green gem not the blue. 😢
I’m sure they sold the emeralds as turquoise is way less valuable

Amazing and expectacular jewelry 💎 👋
Fascinating
I would love the wheat Tiara in a ring. Size 7 if you’re buying. 😊
Astounding jewelry.
Napoleon's jewellery purchases added to the Scandinavian Jewelry collections considerably with pieces that are still in use.
Van Cleef & Arpels has a lot to answer for; desecrating the diadem and flogging off the emeralds was a work of vandalism.
Imagine being napoleans wife and getting that necklace, that probably really made her realize just how powerful her husband was now.. shes lucky he loved her so dedicatedly for that time
And she cheated on him lol

It’s amazing what they could achieve without machines
True craftsmanship!
thank you
The originator of the push present is Napoleon
NEVER KNEW HE WAS THIS RICH...
France was rich and still had some stones left coming/saved from previous kings
Wow I didn't know they had diamond cutters in those days ..they look very finly cut diamonds
Great video
Diamond and emerald and the sword would be my most favorite ❤
Someone should recreate the gold laurel wreath.
Glorious Jewels , Glorious ERA sadly unable to secure & wear at his St Helena residency ,
You can see the perfect green blue of the emeralds. It must have been all the large stones of the mine.
WOW 😲
Glad that you liked :)

I kept hoping to see someone… _ anyone_ wearing that spectacular Wheat tiara.
Realky enjoyed the information. Windeful jewels. The cocsistant muspronounciations were a bit distracting (such as Pope Pe us).
Do you think this is narrated by a computer-generated voice?

Very interesting post, really enjoyed it! Pity for the many mispronunciations…
How about the Cameo tiara owned by the Swedish royal family?

I think we have a lot in common!! 😃
While I like turquoise, here the shapes feel somewhat clunky. In my opinion more fluid shapes would have been more graceful.

Agreed the turquoise is a travesty. Looks like it came from Walmart.
Goodness who's showing off now using big words like travesty, but then again Walmart does seem your natural fit when it comes to jewellery and design.
What a snob 😂
