    CH you have rejuvenated my passion for homebrewing. I’m now BIABing on a claw hammer kettle, using a homemade bottling bucket to ferment, not paying for ice, using sous vide food grade magnets to dry hop, using that fast carbonation stone in my keg, and Kveik yeast. Probably doing a bunch of other things I forgot to mention here. But I learned it all from you. What used to take me 3-4 boring long ass weeks to make a batch now takes me 3 days. It’s amazing to brew on a Tuesday (now under 3 hours, thanks to your time saving tricks and mentality) and be slamming a keg of homebrew with the fellas on Friday night. Thank you for the content!! Cheers from IN!!

    If you want purified water as a commercial brewery you need an RO system with a very big water container to hold the water before adding it to your hot liq and cold liq and just add the minerals back in with your sparge and boil. Best way to make consistent beer without have to use city water that is different all the time.

  • @dsr0116
    @dsr0116 2 года назад +1

    I'm fortunate that my tap water is pretty soft and doesn't taste of chlorine. Originally, I'd try figuring water chemistry by going off the "default profile" of my city. Ward Laboratories has a water kit for brewers, that's cheaper and better than the water test kits being sold. So I've got my own water profile now in Brewfather...and one of the best tools I found it has is automatic calculation of minerals for beer style (vs me trying to do balanced equations when I first tried worrying about water chemistry!).

    Cool video comparison! So I've been reusing yeast for about 11 months, but kind of a different route then most people would take. I have 2 separate keg kettles, and 2 keg fermenters. Once I have 4 empty corny kegs I brew beer, and while doing so empty the beer from the fermenters to the corny kegs. But I leave the yeast and probably some beer behind in the fermenter. Then I add the wort, and within a few hours the airlock is bubbling. Yes this also means I haven't cleaned the fermenters the entire time. But honestly the beer has turned out great everytime, and I've done lots of variety with hops and grains.
    Since I brew so much at a time and store the beer in corny kegs I add a dme simple syrup to the corny kegs, just like with bottling. But, I depressurize the kegs before putting them in the kegerator, then hook up the co2 at around 10 pound to pressurize it. Pressure from the yeast and simple syrup can get up there. Sorry for the long post

It would be a treat to have Party Time articulate what the flavor profile is, or how it arrives at his nose. LOL.
