To answer your question. In canon lore, yoda probably takes vader in an actual battle. His focus is unmatched. He singlehandedly almost beat sidious, pedantics aside he had sidious shook and matched him if not bettered him, the environment helped sidious survive that battle imo. Vader is too easily influenced by external factors and his emotions. Kenobi bests him multiple times purely because of his resolve. Yoda is another level. In his canon vision in clone wars, he withstood sidious when he and anakin battled him on that bridge. His trust in the force is crazy. Canon Vader isn't actually that OP (relatively speaking) when you take into consideration all the Ls he takes.
You tripping if you think canon Vader is losing to Yoda light novel Vader could pull a ship or just rip Yoda with just his basic force abilites I don't even need to use real feats for a fodder character

@@CelestQB it's not a steam roll, I just feel Vader is often too conflicted when it comes to fighting people he has had a relationship with. He gets bested by Kenobi twice, an inferior Jedi. And comics vs TV media is a tough one because comic feats are usually exaggerated for effect, and well Vader is the more popular character - canon or legends. I am not too familiar with all his comic feats I can't lie. But based on what I've watched: struggles and gets overpowered by a novice Luke, overpowered and dominated by Sidious, loses twice to Kenobi (convincingly on both occasions). His true potential is when he's Anakin, al la Mortis arc, redeeming himself killing sidious.
Then it comes to Yoda. He's masterful, unwavering, and extremely knowledgeable. He has the sass to actually wind up and provoke negative emotions out of vader if needed too, he had no trouble getting provocative when he dueled sidious. And going to that duel, he easily matched everything sidous had to throw at home, sidious got the high ground and still couldn't use the pods to overpower yoda despite having the force AND momentum on his side, his lightning was absorbed and unable to beat Yoda, unfortunately the environment saved him (yoda fell back off a ledge, sidous fell back to safety), sidious even tried to run from him in that office room where the guards were. I think Yoda was easily his equal if not stronger. And the fight vision in clone wars. Yes a vision, but I think it was a fair representation of their abilities. I think Yoda could withstand sidious' full lightning unguarded whilst using the force to save Anakin. I think that vision sidous was aware of somehow hence him fearing Yoda in rots battle when he tried to run.
For me, it's not about Vader being stronger or more brute force powerful. I feel he is too conflicted to ever harness his power fully as Vader. And I think that's the angle Disney has taken Vader. Yes he can do incredible feats of power. But ultimately he will inevitably fall short against anything/anyone that involves an emotional side to it. Whereas Yoda has been tested for centuries and never wavered or fell to the dark side, never lost faith in the force on top of being an incredibly wise and powerful grandmaster.

So in Canon ROTS version Yoda would absolutely body Darth Vader but both in their prime which is ROTS Yoda vs ROTJ vader idk who'd win but im leaning more towards Yoda as he was able to match Darth hideous' power and Vader is 80% of his power....
Sidious grew much more powerful after ROTS and Vader was 80% of ROTJ Palps so he would body Yoda.

I think Yoda beats Vader for sure, the later could outlast the former but i dont see that happening given how fast yoda is.
they would be roughly equal in light-saber skill, with vader having greater stamina. vader might be more powerful when it comes to the force but yoda can reverse a great deal of force power in a short amount of time. Darth sidious was probably the only one that could overpower yodas tutiminis.
Yeah I played the 2005 ROTS game and it’s so good lmao and also it would be for sure close between Vader and Yoda, but Anakin was already rivaling Yoda and was above him during Operation Knightfall and after his loss to Kenobi on mustafar he only got stronger but overall it would be an epic battle
