For the hanging clothes in trash bags trick - if you do it the opposite way, start from the bottom of the clothes and tie the handles around the hanger tops - you can reuse the trash bags once you get to your new place to collect packing paper etc

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
      ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬
ROMANS 10:9-11 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame”
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.””
      ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:10‬ ‭
God wants us to believe in His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who died for our sins :D When we truly believe in our hearts that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for our sins so we could have eternal life with God, we are saved from the eternal fire and have eternal life in Christ Jesus!! 💖 May God bless you all! ❤️

Watching this as I sit in my kitchen avoiding the packing that must be done! One thing we do differently is to tape the plates and bowls together. Learned that trick from thrifting and seeing all the sets taped together. It keeps the plates from moving around and then we just wrap each stack with paper or bubble wrap. I never thought to cut the packing paper. I'll definitely be doing that! We also packed fragile room decor, pictures, etc in sheets and towels to save on packing materials.

As a 20+ year Army wife, we also moved many times. One of the best suggestions given to me was that if you are moving with professional movers, place an empty shoe box or small box in each room for the odds and ends that the movers can't pack (i.e. candles, change, nail polish, etc). Even though you think you have removed/packed all of those things before the movers come, they always find more! These boxes can be either packed for you to take yourself to your new home or gone through and things discarded or packed after the movers have left for the day. It saves them from being interrupted and also keeps your hands and pockets empty while you are doing other things. Wish I had known this sooner in our 8 moves in 17 years! Love your channel and content!

I didn't even use packing paper during my move! I saved up news papers. The store ad papers and I saved any bubble plastic from packages. We only bought two packs of boxes and the rest I got from grocery stores and we used bins we already had. We moved multiple days so sometimes I unpacked a box or bin to reuse ! It was nice to save some money because moving is already so expensive

For large pillows and comforters, you can use trash bags. Once you have them in there, put the nozzle of your vacuum between the layers and then twist the bag around the hose. Once you deflate the air from the bag, hold the ends tight as you remove the hose and then twist the bag and use a twist tie or rubber band to seal.

My best tip is to check out your moving company thoroughly!!!!! Also, get extra insurance for the move since the default insurance is something like 6 cents on the dollar. If you have a shorter move consider moving yourself by renting a truck. We are in the midst of dealing with a TERRIBLE moving company who damaged many things from my mom’s estate. The smartest thing we did was move my most precious items in our car.

I have moved a lot and there is nothing worse than trying to rush a move because you waited too long to pack! We are going to be moving this June so I am about to start packing now. My plan is to start with all of the items we don't need or use on a daily basis and get those packed up. One thing I like to do so I don't feel overwhelmed with boxes all over my house is to stack the boxes in a specific corner or each room or if you can, put the packed boxes inside empty closets so you don't see them. I always check every cabinet and closet before we leave the house so nothing gets left behind.

We used color copy paper that we taped onto each box, each room had its own color. I would also stick a sheet on the door of that room so that way the movers could just put the boxes into the room that matched the color on the box.
Also we decluttered as we went. I bought about $10 in dollar tree laundry baskets that we would put all the donations into. That way I didn’t have to sacrifice any boxes. The laundry baskets were big enough to hold quite a bit of things we wanted to get rid of.

When I move, I make a, "Load last, unpack first" box. It's bath towels, paper plates and paper towels, coffee maker, coffee, and mugs. That way when we get to the new house everyone has plates to eat off (I always provide pizza and drinks for my friends and fam lol) and the next morning you are ready to get clean and have a cup of coffee before unpacking. Just add in anything you'd need right off the bat and don't want to search for, and load it into the truck last so it is first when you unload.

I've learned to use kitchen towels for wrapping kitchen items, also use cardstock weight cardboard and make cubbies for glasses; bath towels for anything for the bathrooms. I use pillow cases and sheets as well as extra blankets for bedroom and family room items. Also using paper towels for dishes and glasses keeps from having to rewash before use. I have also learned to wash everything before packing ( no dirty laundry). The last tip I have is remember the lay out of the new place and pack the truck so that the farthest room is the first to come off, makes for less work and steps later when you get tired and all you want to do is unload and rest. We usually do bedrooms first so that (especially with little ones) you can have a place for resting when needed. I moved 2 times at 7 months pregnant. Believe me having the bed set up first was a godsend. I was able to get my feet up and not be in the way.
Oh I also learned about the wardrobe boxes and would use them for pictures as well as hanging clothes, putting clothing between each picture and a towel or pillow on the bottom to protect the frames.

I know you've already renamed your channel, but after watching this, I think it should be named "work smarter not harder." You are so wise in how you approach things. You spent the last year decluttering, knowing that you were at least considering a move. Your smart approach to everything you do shows dedication of thought, not mindless chores. You consider budget, time and effort. A true project manager for each step in your videos. I hope I don't have to move again soon (5 times in 7 years), but if I do, the garbage bags over hanging clothes and styro plates in between dishes are definitely techniques I'm going to use. If you are moving to a bigger house ( one with more bedrooms or bathrooms) try and go ahead and separate the stuff into boxes for that room so when you move you dont have to go through a box and take stuff from one room to another. We have moved several times and sometimes my boys had to share a room and others they got their own rooms and when we moved into a new house where they have their own room it is easier unpacking when i already have them items separated into boxes labeled for their room instead of moving in and unpacking and separating everything at that moment.

Liquor boxes are free and great for books. Since they are smaller it keeps you from making VERY heavy boxes with books in them. If all goes as planned, we will be moving two streets over from our rent house to our newly purchased house in two weeks. Talk about the ideal move. I can pack, unpack at the new house and take the boxes back to pack some more stuff! Looks like we can have the use of our friends’ trucks/trailers as “mini moving vans”. Let’s hear it for our abundance of trucks here in Texas. Blessings on your move.

Thank you so much for this video! My dad and I are thinking we might get kicked out from our apartment so this video really helps for what we need to do to pack what we have. Its been a tough time because we also have two cats and finding houses is difficult. This helps us understand what we need to do and I am thankful for this, Its been a tough year for everyone.

I’m just about to move back to my parents farm but this time we are actually not using boxes but heavy duty plastic tubs. Due to the fact that where it stores is bit damp and rats so we wanted to have more of a chance of keeping the rats and water damage away and use orange nylon flags for fragile things and zip ties to lock the tubs but I’m lacking motivation because for the past 14 months I’ve been living on my own and it feels daunting that it’s all about to change after 14 months of no stress

FYI my biggest tip for moving was to have all your bathroom stuff, basic cleaning supplies, towels, and a suitcase of clothes for each person with you instead of in the moving truck and Mark them open first! It’s always good to have the medicine and first aid supplies with you! 💗💗

We pack the same. It’s good to see someone not act they ‘discovered’ that you can get boxes from stores. Uniform boxes are easy and faster to move. Yeah not ideal for everyone but still.

It's so far to see this as my family and I started watching when you all were moving to this house! Good luck on your move! As far as the clothing goes, we just moved and always use a similar packing hack. We turn the trash bags right side up and tie them like a shoestring around the hangers. By doing it this way, you can untie and reuse the trash bags in your trashcan!

If you go to a store that sells only alcohol ( like a party/ abc store) they put boxes outside on the days they get their truck in and a lot of the time they let you get them for free and they are the perfect size for packing as well.

You can also wrap the cutlery trays in butchers paper and tape or string like a present making it recyclable. Also the 3M velcro strips you will take your paint off peeling them like that. They are designed that if you hold them onto the wall and pull the tab down it stretches and removes the sticky bit cleanly.

Welcome to Arizona!! I moved here in 2001 from NJ and I love it. And I'm sure you'll love all the dust that we have. You're just in time for the summer heat too. But at least you don't have to shovel it. Best of luck in your new home. I've moved quite a few times in my life too and one thing I have learned. Duct tape is a much better box tape than packing tape.

We are moving within the next year, last Christmas I saved all the tissue paper and bought some after Christmas and used that to wrap breakables.
I also packed a first day box - toilet paper for each bathroom, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, hand soap for each bathroom, new toothbrushes for each member of the family and toothpaste
I have saved all extra paper / plastic plates, cups and silverware from gatherings and have in a medium tote, so those will get used the last couple days/ weeks and the first couple days at new house ( we are also planning on slow moving since we are only moving 2 hrs away so will use them for weekends we are at the new house cleaning & painting before actually moving in)
