"DuckTales", "The A-Team", and "Full House" were the only shows I knew that were from the 80s. I didn't sing along to the "Inspector Gadget" theme song, but I liked it. I use to think the "A-Team" was from the 70s and Mr. T is the reason why I watch that show. And I saw only one episode of "DuckTales" as a kid and it was in German. I was in Europe. I also saw "Rat Race", but it's not from the 80s obviously. Great list, Watchmojo!
It really was. I'm glad I was born in the fall of 79 so that I could be a 80's kid. It was a great time to be a kid. Especially when The Real Ghostbusters and Garfield & Friends was airing.

I was born in 86 and grew up on Duck Tales, among others on the list, but hadn't seen it in likely 25 to 30 years. One day my wife (a 90s child who missed out on these amazing shows) put it on for our kids (4&6) and was shocked when I sang the whole theme song perfectly from memory all these years later.
My fave 1980s TV Themes are: The A-Team (Producer John Ashley voiced the narration). MacGyver Remington Steele Airwolf Quantum Leap The Greatest American Hero Duck Tales Transformers Perfect Strangers Knight Rider (Richard Basehart, who played Admiral Harriman Nelson on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and who played Wilton Knight in the pilot episode “Knight of the Phoenix” narrated the opening.

Amazing video Rebecca from watch mojo of the best 80 themes songs in 80 shows, fantastic job. What the thunder cats,G I joes and he man themes songs too.

Good old boys with Waylon Jennings from the show Dukes of Hazzard also deserves a vote, as does the theme song from the cop show Hunter, one of my favorite shows back in the day, actually 👍
So many great TV themes came out of the 80s. I am surprised you have Knight Rider but not Airwolf, It was another one of my favourite 80s theme tunes. I grew up watching The Golden Girls since my mom watched it. When I was a child I thought the words were "...and the heart attacks would say, thank you for being a friend." and I often wondered why it sounded so morbid until I realised it wasn't "heart attacks" but card attached! One of my 80s favourite theme tunes is Hooperman theme. It was partly due to shows that had a sax in them such as that one and Roseanne theme, which made me want to play the saxophone and I do now.
I was born in 83 and out of all the shows mentioned on this list, including the cartoons Ibelieve cheers was probably my all-time favorite and the theme song has such a special meaning to it it’s not just a bunch of words, jumbled up and throwing together it really has a special meaning to it and I can remember as a kid when I would be all down and out I could hear the cheers theme song and it would somehow make me feel better because it makes you feel like no matter how sad and lonely you feel there’s always someone out there somewhere who cares about you and will always care or that’s the meaning I got from it
I born in 91. May have missed the decade but grateful for late 90s/early Kids WB. That was definitely the 2nd best dream for Saturday morning cartoons!
Soooo many great and memorable theme songs in the 80's. It's a lost art in the modern day. The Fall Guy, Riptide, Airwolf, Simon & Simon, Magnum, P.I., CHIPS and the Dukes of Hazzard straddle the 70's and 80's, Hill Street Blues.... You could do several Top 10's. Must-see TV, we'll never see it again like this.
Out of the blue, the duck tales theme started going through my head at work. I started singing it quietly and a couple of coworkers heard it…”why are you singing the duck tales theme???” 🤷🏻♀️I didn’t know…but it went through my head for about a week and I’m guessing it went through their heads too!!
So thankful to my parents for giving the best education with the 80s and 90s. Even though my sister and I are late 90s kids were glad to have grown up in a household with great tv shows and music, I don't think we could have asked for a better childbood😁😁
I sat here watching the video telling myself that if Cheers wasn't number one I would never watch a Mojo video again! Lol Thanks for not letting me down
"Ouch" You may not remember "Greatest American Hero" but a lot of us do, quite fondly I might add. William Katt, Connie Sellecca, Robert Culp, and Michael Paré. Several reboots/spin-offs (Last in 2018). I'm sorry you missed it. As always thank you so very much for the video. I think you should probably do a part two, there were so many great ear-worms... I mean theme songs in the 80s. (Like the ones from Perfect Strangers, Miami Vice, Growing Pains, Family Ties, The Wonder Years, The Facts of Life, Taxi... I could (easily) go on.)

You really can't pick 10.. nor have enough honorable mentions. Cartoons - Transforners, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Jem, TMNT, He-man, Spiderman, Mask, Fraggle Rock, G. I. Joe, Brave Star, Gummi Bears, Ghostbusters, Heathcliff, Super friends, Sitcoms - Silver Spoons, Airwolf, Quantum Leap, Baywatch, Married with Children, Fall guy, Perfect Strangers, Magnum P. One intro I was disappointed to not see on the list, even as honorable mention, was AIrwolf. That, along with Knight Rider and The A Team made up the trifecta of my childhood.

"The Greatest American Hero" theme song? I love it. I remember it very well that TV show. A hero who cant master his powers. It's a light comedy show. And the show "Cover Up" theme song, "Holding Out For A Hero" is so nice. So sad that the leading male actor of the show died in an accident.
I watched this hoping Night Court would get mentioned. Thank you for not letting me down. I wondered why Hawaii 5-0 wasn't on here but apparently that show ended in 1980.
The disrespect to denver the last dinosaur, that intro is a freaking masterpiece. If you dont know the intro do yourself a favor and search it, easy enough in youtube. You can thank me later. Honourable mention to Count Duckula
A little surprised that you didn't mention just how weird the lyrics happen to be in the #1 pick. Great song, no argument there. The chorus is what everyone remembers, but those verses hit a bit different.
