  • Between 2020 and 2023, Port Authority purchased a group of 10 freshly retired 2007 D40LF buses that were based out of a company from Arizona called Valley Metro. These buses were listed on an auction website before their purchase, being offered in all-white schemes as their original branding had been completely covered by it. Since being purchased, they've been reschemed with Port Authorities latest appearance of a deep rich blue, and neat small logo's placed all around the bus welcoming people into New York from JFK airport, where these buses are now based out of. They possess Cummins ISL's paired with Allison B400R transmissions, and are decently loud and pick up speed exceptionally fast. It's still unknown what their replacements from PANYNJ will be, given the fact they're still fairly newly refurbished and will see a decent life expansion period being used as airport buses in JFK by PANYNJ. The particular unit being ridden is bus #601, which at the time was being operated on a shuttle for the JFK AirTrain as there had been a closure preventing trains from reaching a few terminals, which free shuttle buses had provided, from PANYNJ themselves. #portauthority

Nice, this bus is former Valley Metro 6577, which I recorded a couple clips of shortly before it was retired
