As a guitarist, I feel like I should clear this up, being able to play a bunch of songs with 4 chords is easy, why? because most songs are composed of these chords, just in a different order. Not hating on Ed at all, he is a talented musician, but not the best.

Sorry for bringing this up, but most songs are made out of basically four chords. And there are just like 8 notes. So everybody can do this. I'm playing a lot of irish music. Irish music is also like 4 chord based (often). If if I'm trying a new Song, I try with like Am, C, G & D. Often that works out. So I'm firguring out the sequence, place a capo, so the song fits my voice and I start right away. But besides that Ed Sheeran is a good musician.
