It really feels like the lore of future Pokémon is that they were bred for competitive battling, like all of them have either good bulk and a high attack or special attack, or good speed and a high attack or special attack, even down to iron moth being part poison to maybe counter iron valiant a bit better
Actually, I think it's more like: "From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as though it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call the temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you."
This thing was a true menace in OU ladder, especially with its modest agility sets which outsped everything after one agility boost and its quark dive boosted freezedry/hydro combo blasted through everything which caused me to start running Tera-steel on "ice-weak" pokemon just to counter it.
When you think about it, if you got a chance to take a weak Pokémon and turn it into a robot, it wouldn't be as fun if it was just as bad lmao. I wish that was just the throughline of all the robot paradox Pokémon. Imagine Iron Leafs, the mechanical Tropius or Iron Flounder, the Stunfisk-droid and they just had monstrous stat distributions😂
The sad ones are like the Robo Tyranitar, Iron Thorns, or something, that are almost completely outclassed by their basic version, due to worse BST or weird typing that doesn't exactly work.
Delibird Mechanicus: "From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. For the machine is immortal. Even in death, I serve the Omnissiah."
I feel like Cyclizar is gonna wind up on the chopping block, it's speed + regenerator + shed tail gets almost anything in for free, which feels problematic. I think a video discussing this could be interesting.
The funniest thing about these paradox pokemon is how utterly absurd they look and sound. No amount of context can explain why they all have these bizarre names, NONE of them sound like pokemon. Even the Ultra Beasts made more sense than these
Its kind of funny how if s/v had the bulky thick fat/water absorb water ice types or jynx iron bundle would be singing a different tune or atleast have soft counters and would have to change its moveset to counter them
It'd be interesting to see which, if any, of these banned pokemon would hold up in a conventional ubers format after legendaries return to the game. I imagine flutter mane & iron bundle might, but am unsure if they have the same ohko power against bulkier box legendaries. I dont think theyd have the bulk to last very long if they had to 2hko anything.
Important to note that I suspect Groudon will all but replace Korraidon on teams where Korraidon's job is to play support, while Miraidon is kinda saddled with its role since Tapu Koko really can't handle that pressure
Delibird really is an inspiration for us all. Forever it was known as the rock bottom of competitive Pokemon. But it got its act together, started working hard and taking care of itself. And eventually all that hard work paid off and now he's a beast in competitive. Be a rad penguin like Delibird, work on improving yourself and being the best you you can possibly be. Don't be a sad penguin like Empoleon, lazy, out of shape and content on being terrible.
It also doesn't help that walls and bulky Pokemon in general were all-but shat on, with the PP reduction to healing moves; Recover, Soft-Boiled, Rest, etc. now all only have 8 PP maximum, instead of 16, drastically reducing their effectiveness. Because of this, even if something could withstand this "Iron Bundle" thing (which isn't even Steel-type, despite the name), it won't be able to do so for long. Sure, it could hypothetically drain its Hydro Pump PP, but not much else.
Iron Bundle is a small price to pay for the assassination of Toxapex and Clefable. They say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead, only find the positives. So I'll say this. Toxapex is dead.
There were quite a few changes this generation that make me think the devs are trying to give workarounds to avoid stall teams being so prominent. I think they might’ve swung too far in the opposite direction, in some cases
The lore of the future paradox Pokémon is that they are from 1 BILLION years into the future so only took Delibird 1 billion years to become viable, incredible
I love how every generation they gave more and more water op pokemon like palafin and bundle / dracovish and toxapex) but give like 5 fire pokemon counting with the starter
Gen Wunner here. Farfetch'd is my favorite of all time since the 90's. Delibird joined my group of favorites when gen 2 was released. I've waited half my life for Sirfetch'd and Iron Bundle.
Insanelg good. The issue isn’t entirely shed tail, it’s the combination of shed tail and regenerator, cyclizar essentially creates a substitute and passes it in one turn, for a net loss of only 17% hp. It can be used to set up and freely pivots because of how fast it is. Add in taking no damage from spikes and such with heavy duty boots, and you have yourself the ultimate pivot, rapid spin, knock off, and substitute setter in the game
@@RandomPerson-gf6gd This. Besides Shed Tail and Regenerator, it offers silly levels of role compression that all synergize with Regenerator. Even without boots, Cyclizar can always come in on a full spikes & Stealth Rock setup layer, clear it, and switch out taking no net damage, not accounting for opponent actions. Don't know what the enemy is gonna do? Just switch in Cyclizar, there's probably SOMETHING it can do and it probably won't die. The only balancing factor is Cyclizar having perhaps the single saddest "all my friends are dead" sendoff tons of times. It's a very hardy lizard, so often survives the death of the rest of the team, and viciously Rapid Spins until it dies, as a small violin plays.

One day the crude biomass you call the temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you."
"From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh..." - Some penguin with a cool box
This thing was a true menace in OU ladder, especially with its modest agility sets which outsped everything after one agility boost and its quark dive boosted freezedry/hydro combo blasted through everything which caused me to start running Tera-steel on "ice-weak" pokemon just to counter it.
That stall conversation came out of nowhere but pop off queen
after normal delibird got beat half to death , nurse joy said "we can rebuild him, we have the technology"
The more they ban, the more my Masquerane Gallade team dominates.
My master plan is working perfectly.
"Insert stereotypical evil laugh"
When you think about it, if you got a chance to take a weak Pokémon and turn it into a robot, it wouldn't be as fun if it was just as bad lmao.
I wish that was just the throughline of all the robot paradox Pokémon. Imagine Iron Leafs, the mechanical Tropius or Iron Flounder, the Stunfisk-droid and they just had monstrous stat distributions😂
It would be really funny if all the paradox pokemon were just op versions of pokemon that useally suck in competitive lmao
We needed paradox magikarp
Paradox Unown when
The sad ones are like the Robo Tyranitar, Iron Thorns, or something, that are almost completely outclassed by their basic version, due to worse BST or weird typing that doesn't exactly work.
@@aprinnyonbreak1290 I wish they were better 😔
"Your mistletoe is no match for my T.O.W. Missile!"
-Iron Bundle, probably
Biggest glow up ever
Delibird glow up, couldn't be happier about it tbh
Delibird Mechanicus: "From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass that you call a temple will wither and you'll beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the machine is immortal. Even in death, I serve the Omnissiah."
I feel like Cyclizar is gonna wind up on the chopping block, it's speed + regenerator + shed tail gets almost anything in for free, which feels problematic. I think a video discussing this could be interesting.
Yeah but there's more Infiltrator mons to play around Sub sets now
Freezai uses every opportunity to show that crabhammer clip😭
The funniest thing about these paradox pokemon is how utterly absurd they look and sound. No amount of context can explain why they all have these bizarre names, NONE of them sound like pokemon. Even the Ultra Beasts made more sense than these
If we talk only about paradox pokemon from the past their name sound like how ancient people would call them.
All Delibird needed was a visit from Doctor Eggman.
I wanna see BKC's dream of a Boots ban come true.
Its kind of funny how if s/v had the bulky thick fat/water absorb water ice types or jynx iron bundle would be singing a different tune or atleast have soft counters and would have to change its moveset to counter them
Yeah, I doubt it will be nearly as good when the rest of the home Pokémon come back
Lanturn: Hoh? Are you approaching me?
Edit wait I committed a stupid but will leave this because I'm sure someone can make it funny.
Assault Vest Bellibolt just completely destroys Iron Bundle and that was before I knew how strong it was
That rant around 3:00 in was meant for the complainers on /vp/, wasn't it?
It'd be interesting to see which, if any, of these banned pokemon would hold up in a conventional ubers format after legendaries return to the game. I imagine flutter mane & iron bundle might, but am unsure if they have the same ohko power against bulkier box legendaries. I dont think theyd have the bulk to last very long if they had to 2hko anything.
Important to note that I suspect Groudon will all but replace Korraidon on teams where Korraidon's job is to play support, while Miraidon is kinda saddled with its role since Tapu Koko really can't handle that pressure
They did it they made Delibird a real Pokémon
I used snowscape aurora veil suicide lead iron bundle on my veil hyper offence teams. It worked a treat, I was sad to see it banned
Rip better Delibird
Delibird really is an inspiration for us all. Forever it was known as the rock bottom of competitive Pokemon. But it got its act together, started working hard and taking care of itself. And eventually all that hard work paid off and now he's a beast in competitive.
Be a rad penguin like Delibird, work on improving yourself and being the best you you can possibly be.
Don't be a sad penguin like Empoleon, lazy, out of shape and content on being terrible.
So you are telling us to mechanize our body in order to be better? Gotcha, gonna Chop my arm off tomorrow and replace it with a very cool chainsaw.
@@walaceandrade4046 Heck yeah! Transhumanism Baby!
To think it can't even Surf. If it had it, it probably would've been banned in Wave 1
love iron bundle, my fav mon of all of gen 9
The FedEx Bird is finally getting the Power he deserves after all those years.
The lore of the future paradox Pokémon is that they are from 1 BILLION years into the future so only took Delibird 1 billion years to become viable, incredible
he says iron bundle in the exact same tone of voice every time and it freaks me out
Iron Bundle is the fastest Ice type nowadays... and tied with Barraskewda as the fastest Water type...
Delibird when everyone was mocking and laughing at how bad it is;
"Just wait... one day, you'll see how terrifying I can really be..."
I love how every generation they gave more and more water op pokemon like palafin and bundle / dracovish and toxapex) but give like 5 fire pokemon counting with the starter
take a shot everytime he says “iron bundle”
Iron bundle comes from a paradox world where it's perpetually Christmas all year round feeding it infinite power
The words "Iron Bundle" no longer sound like real words.
3:12 Filler is one of my favorite Gen 9 moves
They have to hire same engineers that built Robo Santa from Futurama
Delibird learned of the weakness of flesh
Just wish they called it something better than 'iron bundle'
Gen Wunner here.
Farfetch'd is my favorite of all time since the 90's. Delibird joined my group of favorites when gen 2 was released. I've waited half my life for Sirfetch'd and Iron Bundle.
Cyclizar would be interesting, I saw on the smogon ban thread that some people voted to ban it. I assume because of shed tail: how good is it?
Insanelg good. The issue isn’t entirely shed tail, it’s the combination of shed tail and regenerator, cyclizar essentially creates a substitute and passes it in one turn, for a net loss of only 17% hp. It can be used to set up and freely pivots because of how fast it is. Add in taking no damage from spikes and such with heavy duty boots, and you have yourself the ultimate pivot, rapid spin, knock off, and substitute setter in the game
I’m pretty sure the vote didn’t pass for its ban
@@RandomPerson-gf6gd
This.
People forget the obvious solution to Special Attackers, Sand Teams, they are so good
i always hear people say 'gold-engo' and i always thought it was 'golden-go'
I feel like type matchups are more important in this gen than any other gen
“Heavy Duty Boots are good for letting a Pokémon come in and out”
“A Pokémon come in and out”
🤨📸
Iron Bundle is literally Futurama Santa. Evil homicidal robot Santa Claus
Bro his pokedex icon literally makes it seem like he's balling
What makes somebody a criminal in 2077? Making robot delibirb
this implies that in the future, santa bird will become overpowered.
After how we treated delibird, we deserved a bag coal. After millions of years of evolution, the cyborg penguins have come to roost.
