fun fact: robot delibirds are the top predators in the future paldea. Their breakfast consists of robot ttar eggs and tea made in dead sinistea. They turned sinistea into an endangered pokemon and the sinistea had to develop a counter attack. Sinistea developed a Robot Soldier program which resulted in Iron Mugulis. With its electric typing, enourmos SpAtk and priority move Extreme Current, they were able to scare away robot delibirds and secure a a small kitchen were they all continued to live and breed
But before it became a top predator, its origin was the humble water cooler. As the world became more and more automated, and people became lazier, they sought ways to get the essentials of life without any effort. In office blocks and such, simple wheeled robots would wander around offering water to anyone they passed. Someone eventually saw a link between this service and Delibird, a Pokemon known for giving gifts. The appearance of Delibird perfectly complimented the water cooler, with chilled water stored in its bundle, which could be detached for pouring. The Delibird water cooler proved popular, and its creator sought a way to market it to the world. They refined its iron body to withstand rough shipping. They bolstered its ability to chill water so it could work in the warmest climates. They gave it two smooth feet like skis to get around with ease. Most importantly, they gave the cooler an AI, so it could navigate new environments on its own and seek people out. When wars broke out, people saw how this device could be weaponised; how its freezing water, blasted at high pressures, could easily wipe out enemy Pokemon. By improving its combat capabilities and enhancing its AI, warmongers made the cooler into a monstrous weapon that could survive entirely on its own. Iron Bundle was unleashed.
Game Freak definitely knew what they were doing when they made both box legendaries, the strongest Paradox Pokémon, and one of the most powerful Treasures of Ruin all have the same speed tier and giving the robot Delibird exactly +1 base stat above them in Speed 💀
Iron Bundle is actually canonically the savior of humamity. In the prehistoric era when past paradox pokemon reigned, intense sunlight caused extreme difficulty in the lives of people and pokemon. pokemon became larger and more ferocious, while humans were relegated to underground societies. some wise humans observed that in order for humans to thrive, this overbearing era of heat must end. and so they created iron bundle. iron bundle cooled the air wherever they went, stabilizing the climate. this soon enraged the past paradox pokemon however, and a war ensued. countless iron bundles were created and destroyed, and humans started equipping them with ever more powerful weaponry. eventually, despite being practically annihilated in the process, the iron bundles achieved their goal. the earth was cooled, the pokemon of the earth began to evolve to favor more temperate behaviors, and an age began where humans and pokemon could coexist together on the surface.
I love Iron Bundle, it just looks like if someone built a robot penguin like those toy robot dogs that were everywhere during the 90s, but it just has broken stats for absolutely no reason lol, like, after activating Quark Drive, it actually becomes faster than Regieleki, by quite a large margin at that
And the sad thing is how much dirty they made Iron Jugulus and Iron Thorns. Iron Jugulus being a bundle Hydreigon with worst stats and moveset, and Iron Thorns just existing for being 1hko with Earthquake, the most common coverage in competitive.
I like that most people weren’t asking for a Delibird evolution (you mainly saw Farfetch’d, Dunsparce, Corsola, and Quilfish), and yet this thing exists
The description is so accurate for this robotic Pokemon (I think it's in the Pokedex description, I don't know), but it's literally a futuristic Delibird... I once read a comment in a comment box on a RUclips video that was talking about Iron Bundle that, in short, Delibird was bullied for being a weak Pokemon by other Pokemon, but one day he asked Santa Claus for the gift of "complete combo" to become a robot and thus humiliate the other Pokemon and that after completing his first revenges, they no longer called him Delibird, but Iron Bundle. It was so fun. XD
It still blows my mind that there were people advocating that Fluttermane and Iron Bundle are okay to have in OU, only for them to both flourish in Ubers. Not every Ubers pokemon is even good in Ubers, to be good in Ubers you have to be a special kind of "amazing" that just should not be in OU
You're saying that Iron Bundle doesnt make sense, but there is precedent for an unassuming pokemon getting a paradox future form that terrorises the Pokemon metagame. Im talking, of course, about frighteningly powerful Pokémon Iron Mugulis
Honestly I like to think the lore to this monster is similar that to Futurama, where they try make a jolly lil Santa robo brid but accidentally went overboard on it and it went rampant with no mercy.

Iron Bundle in doubles is a very linear mon: Freeze dry, Protect, Icy wind, Hydro pump and sometimes encore, equipped with either covert cloak (fake out), focus sash (special attackers) or booster energy to outspeed everything but Chlorophyll Lilligant... and is considered the second best mon of series 2 despite having to use Hydro pump (Yes, VGC players hate those moves as much as Smogon ones) due to sheer reliability, just like Regieleki or Landorus-T.
I like how the only 2 pokemon that can actually resist the combination of Freeze Dry and Hydro Pump not only suck in general but also don't even exist in the game

the closest thing i had to a counter to this thing when it was still in ou was a choice scarf armorouge. with a maxed out speed stat it had exactly one more point of speed over bundle, and armor cannon was a clean OKOH thanks to bundle's low spdef.
I love how when this guy gets hit his head flys up on a spring like a faulty action figure. The Santa Pokémon’s paradox form is a Toy version of itself
Next paradox form is gonna be rotom's and it's gonna be called Iron-E. Either because it's steel ghost with an ability like that of bombardier but for electric types since it's a good conducttor or just steel flying with levitate
They really made one of the shittiest mons ever created in a terrifying monster, capable to wipe entire teams in a couple of seconds lol And he's even an actual good ice type?! What happened to GF?! weren't they supposed to render Ice type trash tier in every gen?!
So this was the origin of the terrifying villain iron fellow. We could not had anticipated what monstrosity would occur after the reveal of this menace. Luckly, I left my like, so I have helped with the fight to prevent some of atrocities
I really hope those paradoxforms get a better integration in the pokedex. Like an Item to evolve into them or something like this. They seem even more lost then the Ultrabeasts 2 Gens prior.

Iron Bundle is clearly the best Future paradox, it's so dumb yet so powerfull. Unfortunately, it completely gets owned by Iron Mugulis. What a shame.
The best future paradox is Miraidon
Let's not forget about Iron Valiant.

actually freezedry+water is perfect offensive coverage. no pokemon except shedinja (and volcanion thanks octosquidy (and thick fat walrein and dewgong thanks furfou sir)) resists both STABs
Having water in the typing alr give freeze dry supereffective hits, combining water with ice resist will just make freeze dry neutral, not resist it
If you're counting abilities, Volcanion would also be fine since it has water absorb
Technically speaking, Thick Fat Walrein and Dewgong the aforementioned combo-not that those are two are good in Ubers or anything.
I like how the only 2 pokemon that can actually resist the combination of Freeze Dry and Hydro Pump not only suck in general but also don't even exist in the game
