Hello,, fellow Wastelander! I have a tip for you. The wood steps that you tried to use but didn't like because they didn't reach the ground. They stack nicely. Just snap a second set to the bottom of the first set. This work on all ladders and staircases. Also, when it comes to stairs being "centered", you need to create your center point. Example, for a two floor piece structure, use a quarter floor on each end, then use the full size floor piece in the center. Then the stairs will snap to the center/ full size floor. I love building in Fallout4, that's why it's my favorite game. Keep up the good work and remember to take your union mandated break every four hours!!

Multiple solutions to unscrappable stuff, first, console command Disable, open console and select the item by left clicking it, then type disable and hit enter, it removes the unscrappable item, also console command Scrapall, it deletes EVERYTHING from a build area, dont use if you already started building lmao, also place everywhere will blown your mind with building! 😊😊
Thanks for writing in! I started using the disable console command recently thanks to other comments saying to try that. I have definitely disabled the wrong thing a few times, however!😂 I will need to experiment and try the scrapall command, just to see what it's like. Greetings all! My companions usually get in my way while I'm trying to build; here is what I do: If Dogmeat or a Junkyard Dog is with me, I build him/her a house and place it in an area where I won't be building, and the dogs immediately go and lay down in it and stay there. If it is a humanoid, I put down a chair or couch/bench out of the way and command them to sit. Codsworth will stay where you direct him with a command. They'll stay put all night if you build 24 hrs. Problem solved! Also, for better visibility after dark or stormy weather, I change my pipboy light setting to white, and keep the flashlight on. This helps a lot! :)
I really wish they bring this settlement building in the next fallout and maybe create group survival player mode that fights against every enemies known in the fallout series.
Hi Mkenn! I saw this mod called Adobe House Kit on Nexus, it adds a western / fallout 1 esque kit. It’s made out of like, sand and brick and stuff like that. I thought id mention it since you’re making a western settlement.

The locker can't be scrapped since its an item that links up to a railroad pick up quest. A few settlements have ether trash cans or lockers you can't interact with due to them linking into one quest or another.
OHHHHH!!! That’s right! I don’t know how I could have forgotten that, Railroad was my favorite faction! Sadly… I used commands to scrap it! LOL! But now worries, I am not playing any story for faction missions so it shouldn’t affect the playthrough. Thanks for the info and commenting!

Workshop Rearranged, which you do now have working, adds a Support Menu to each of the structures, which will give you attachable supports that can give you the half-size wooden foundation look. Check the support menus and the misc menu and there's a bunch of stuff you might like in there for your prison. Also, look at Woody's Wasteland Stuff for saloon doors :D

You can use console command 'disable' on those lockers and cables. Just face what you want to remove, hit the Tilde [~] symbol on keyboard, click the object you want gone, type in, disable, hit enter, and voila problem solved. 👍🏾

Nothing to be sorry about at all! Yes, I am using mods. A bunch actually, playing on PC using Nexus. I have Workshop Rearranged to reorganize the building components, G2M adds a bunch of structures and materials that normally you can’t build with. I also have scrapping mods to help get rid of a lot of junk that you can’t in Vanilla; just to name a few.

Solid thinking! I keep forgetting to build a doghouse!😂🤣 I have a few chairs placed for now but I really need to get that doghouse for Dogmeat!

it might be a load order issue, those lockers. i had that problem so i locked all my scrapping mods to the bottom of my load order, and that fixed it
