    Hi there! What a JOY it has been watching your videos! You are an absolute delight & so dang talented! You have a mind exactly like mine, with so many fun, creative, whimsical ideas, but YOU can actually transfer your brilliant ideas into reality & for that, I am a wee bit jealous. But I think that perhaps if I watch every single one of your fabulous videos, I may eventually learn to make some of the fantastical, magical creatures that you’ve made. I’m most definitely going to keep practicing! THANK YOU so much for sharing your creativity & talent with all of us! You are bringing so much joy to so many people! I’m exceedingly grateful to you !🫶🙏🧚‍♀🧝🏼‍♀🦄🐉

    Stunning pieces.
    I'd like to highlight the importance of covering/ sealing of the salt crystals well. Salt is Hygroscopic (attracts moisture from the air) so will essentially 'melt' if left unsealed and thus destroy your piece and possibly the scene around it.

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  Год назад +2

      For sure. The glue, polish and sealer will keep them from doing that 🥰

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  Год назад +2

      @@recoveringsoul755 actually not too much time! It went rather fast, but there’s really no need to sort them, there’s bunches of clear in the packages. It went faster for me, for filming purposes, to have them ready. And I need the darker colors for the salt lamps I’m filming right now too, lol But I’m looking forward to trying the sea salt for sure 🥰

      @@WhereTheGnomesLiveDo you think rock salt would work? I have that in the garage.

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  Год назад +2

      I’m sure it would work but I’ve never tried it myself. This salt I used was the first time I’ve ever attempted crafting with a salt. But with that said, try a couple pieces and see how it reacts to nail polish or glue.. that way you won’t invest too much time if it doesn’t work. I hope it works for you, have fun!

    I LOVE your videos!! I'm looking at your nailpolish with sparkles and it makes me think of stickles, especially the colors "star dust" and "crystal". they are very similar to the nailpolish you showed. But the nailpolish has a basecolor that the 2 stickles i mentioned don't have. But might be good for fun effect. I use stickles a lot just putting some on my finger and spread over a surface or dab.

  • @angelay1925
    @angelay1925 Год назад

    I'm loving this and I'm having a go, at these and the salt lamps 🥰 however, I can only get E6000 plus and it doesn't appear to work like yours does, it's a nightmare, doesn't grab/hold anything, I have to touch it as little as possible (otherwise it just pulls all the salt crystals off and sticks them to my fingers) and let it dry for at least 48 hours between stages, otherwise everything just falls/flakes off. It doesn't seem anywhere near as 'sticky' as yours, it's gloopy and runny (if that makes sense) and kept running off the base, even the fabric one (for the salt lamps). Any advice or suggestions for alternatives, super glue gel?

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  Год назад +2

      I believe the polish and glue will keep that from happening. However, I’m not an expert on them, this is new for me as well. But from a bit of experience with polish on other crafts I’m assuming they’ll hold up just fine

    Dear Sharon, I have lots of tiny real crystals and I was wondering if I could use them to make miniature geodes like the ones you made in this video? Also, I'm currently making a Miniature Victorian style library inside a room box and I'd like to make a miniature collection of gemstones, using real semi-precious gemstone chips. I want to make it look like it's in a glass case or cabinet. Could you give me some advice on this? Thanks so much. Love from Amanda in Melbourne, Australia

    Orrrrrrrrr, for the cost of all those paints and supplies, you could just buy a genuine crystal..just saying....

    • @WhereTheGnomesLive
      @WhereTheGnomesLive  Месяц назад

      Edit: I thought your comment was on the lamps I made with the same materials, my apologies, but my response would be about the same since I’m building for a dollhouse. Paints & supplies come from the dollar store. This is what crafters do, we build stuff lol These are working lights for a dollhouse and salt lamps I’ve seen, or own, are not even close to being tiny enough for a dollhouse. You can get small colored crystals for sure but then you’d still have to grind them down and then glue them into formation so you can get a light inside but that would be more costly in the end than rock salt, glue, and paint combined.
