- The Dixie Fire. This wildfire has now burned over 40,000 acres and is 15% contained. After my first trip to the Dixie Fire it had jumped Highway 70 and ran up Bald Eagle Mountain. The massive column from the wildfire can be seen in the first clip and multiple air-tankers worked throughout the day to slow the spread of the fire before nightfall.

I live in Scotland, up on the north west coast. I’m always so sad to see how many fires you guys get over in the USA and Canada. Thinking of you all and hoping you guys stay safe x
Love Scotland. Hope to get back someday. Let’s trade homes for a week
Thank you for filming this. Many of us are Praying for all of you to be safe and that they can get these Fires under Control.💖🇺🇸👍🏼
It’s strange seeing all this destruction, yet, hear birds chirping in the background. Thanks for all your work bringing this to your viewers.
He is a mile or 2 back from the fire
There were so many cal fire planes on flight radar fighting this fire. Respect to the pilots! I was tracking at least 18 planes, stay safe too cameraman
Need to use C-5A that are sitting in the boneyard!
can't understand why they parked the Cal Fire 747 with it's 19,000 gal capacity, said it cost too much to operate ?? with all the free money the government is handing out for people to stay home they can Sure throw some where it's Really needed, saving lives and property!!!
@@john6218att it’s not cal fires it’s for sale right now supposedly.
@@john6218att you have no idea what you are talking about so go back to FOX and get your dose
Some of that could be snuffed with shovel work.
Sad not enough people.
Maybe McDonald's should give free meals to encourage the firefighters who spend 15hrs on the line in heavy gear and intolerable heat, instead of turning them away. Jerks.
I did this forty years ago. You don't get paid enough.
Many people on the lines if you watched a video or 2 about wildfire tactics u would understand there is dozer line hand line and retardant used in conjunction to try to stop the spread.
But since u know so much why don't you get out there and do it yourself
@@native82 wrong if u understood how wildfires where fought
Excellent video reporting.
Good video as usual.
Thx for the coverage. Hard to get good info sometimes. I'm not too far. Hope I don't have to evac again this yr like last yr.
Loved camping, fishing and water skiing at Bucks Lake!
I see all the planes or most of them flying back to reload much respect to theses fighters
How tragically sad. Many years ago I used to hike and fish in that area.
I live near a Air National Guard Base with C-130s flying out of it. They are actually flying over my house as I type this. The C-130 at the beginning of the video sounds completely different from the ones here. Do the fire fighting Hercules have different turboprops than the military variants? Also god bless all the brave Firefighters fighting these fires and everyone affected by them.
Are people running to the hills to escape? I saw that the West is going to have a record setting wildfire’s this season.
Thankyou so much for everything you do at fighting these horrific fires you all are our heroes. Thanks again
Thank you Pacific Gouge and Extort (PG&E). Started another fire 🔥. How many will you kill this time. The 85 who died in Paradise weren’t enough or the fire near Santa Rosa killed 22 and burned 5600 homes or the gas explosion in the Bay Area a few years ago that blew the street up injuring and killing people. How many have to die due to your negligence.
85 died in Paradise.
Check your stats again it was 85 in paradise
@@WestPac-ny9vi I thought I had put 84 but dog gone dyslexia. I corrected it
Technically the Tubbs Fire that burned Santa Rosa started on a private power system on private property
State required PG&E to use 35% to fund green energy, they took money from maintenance to pay for green tech and made California less green. Yes PG&E have fault but so due the politicians and voters who made PG&E transfer funds.
Looks as Volcano erupted
Heat from pine dry grass!
Gr8 vid work! Sad this is happening but the forest will be better going forward. Seen it in other areas up there. That's where I grew up, in the Lakes Basin Area...
Alexander Nunez how long you going to be up this way on this fire cause i am currently monitoring this one from my home i am a local Fire Buff for Butte County CA
Burned to the Lake what 20 years ago?
Prayers and thanks to all who are fighting these fires!! And to all who are in harms way...May God keep you safe
That Mountain Home Crew from Balch Park area I 🤔
There goes the huckleberries and on the blueberries!
40,000 acres and now it's at 900,000 acres
It's a tragedy that peoples homes are in harm's way, but judging from all that dead wood in the scenes of the fire trucks proceeding up that logging road, this area needs a good burn. It was overdue.
Maybe they should employ goat and sheep farmers to run their goats and sheep thru the forest several times a year to eat down the brush.
Lol
Folks you should be doing brush cleaning of your property. Check your evacuation route out of the area. God Bless please try to stay safe and out of the way 🙏
Awesome
Glad to more modern aircraft making retardant drops an some with larger pay loads.
Why is this video still posted ?
