this on way structure reminds me of a part of the city i live in where there are only one way streets and they are 3 lane one for going left one for going rignt and one for going straight
One way track is probably one of the most obvious solution to traffic jam (Barcelona City Superblocks for example) but for some reason people with megabases keep resorting to adding more tracks as a "solution" for no reason. Thanks for pointing this out and making a long video about it explaining in detail. I've only one feedback though, 5:32 ... this is not true though, you can make a fairly decent blueprint solution for those 4-4 intersections that works on almost all cases, since one way superblocks always have only 3 types of intersections for 4 lanes (1in-3out, 3in-1out, 2in-2out)
Who much playtime to you have on this map? Your idea with one-way circle is very interesting to me. I will take this idea to my new started mega base. Thanks for your explanation!
Glad you liked it :) Not sure on the time but it is enough to build and test everything several times. There are a lot of changes from this to the last version ruclips.net/video/R24DzalUfYM/видео.html
On what conditions do you program the stations to turn off and on? Just on plain saturation? I've mostly reached around 50 trains in a run and I start imagining this problem: All my (lets say 15) trains transporting iron plates could all happen to decide to go to the same station and completely fill up the train buffer. How do I make sure they don't? Obviously, as you mention at 23:35, you can micromanage - by assigning specific trains to specific stations. But that will remove the train dynamics.
There's ways around it using a circuit network. Nilaus has done it before in some of his older train network videos. The designs aren't perfect but they still work really well. How they work is very complicated but if you use their blueprints of the decider/combinators and follow how to use their blueprints then it's not too difficult. Easy to use but hard to understand.

I know this is a bit old, but I still have some questions. Are the train parking lots and the 8 belts instead of 12 enough to prevent the "Thundering herd" problem? I'm just concerned that a station is going to open up, and ALL of the iron trains are going to rush there and cause problems. I've never built this big so I have very little experience with this. Also, you're only checking one chest to determine if the station should be open or closed, right? Is that because the balancer you're using is input balanced?
Input balancing is to left, center, or right side of belt depending on which draws fastest. The "Thundering herd" problem lol took a long time to fix after converting the steel processing to onsite. I had to disable around 20 trains. You must manually balance supply and demand so somewhere a station is always calling. It is better to run short than to have a train without a drop point stalling and blocking traffic.
6:30 I’m currently designing a new rail system for my base, and have a rather complex four way intersection that allows two lanes of travel in every direction, and allowing on average 3-4 trains through the intersection at any given moment. I’m not sure if you can offer me specifically help, but I do have a mega-base, or sorts. I designed it to be large, and expand quickly, not science production. The issue I’m having now is making a train depot. My trains don’t cause clogs, unless they have nothing to do.
Same, that's why I stopped. The next update will be optimizations but yeah, right now it's all CPU. I did update the download link in my last Factorio video but no new video. I could not figure out why the SPM never recovered.

Thanks for the info.
The best solution for traffic jam is public transport, like metro, bus and so on.
@@dimistepa Yeah, public transport. Like trains for example.

Does this world work on 1.0 and is it possible to get it reuploaded so I can take a look at the details of how you made this so amazing?

Not installed at the moment but I saw on Steam they were working on changing how trains work.
if you go really far out on the map you can find huge ammounts of ore. i found one that had 20 mill iron right next to 2 other 10+ mill spots
It seems bodies of water also increase.
