There's apparently quite a bit of variation with the geometry. My Pulsar measured at 0.012" bte and the factory angle was 15 dps. It was also THE sharpest factory edge I've ever tested (120 BESS, and 95 BESS after a very quick strop).
Their stuff is top notch. I have the Sheepsfoot Tao in VANAX. Smoothest knife I own. The Pulsar is on my list, hopefully it's still in stock when I can grab one.
Kunwu are doing a great job in not only producing good designs but also providing us access to some of the more exotic steels at very reasonable prices which are heat treated correctly. Of course a lot of us may prefer additional tweaks but then you are really talking about a custom knife if it is to meet all your personal preferences. For example if I wanted to try the Chad in PM60 I personally would like a mirror polished blade like.Rockstead who use this as it reduces the risk of staining to this sort of steel. My personal preference of their current range would be to try one in Vanax because heat treated at 60-62 HRC it would theoretically provide edge retention better than M390 whilst at the same time being extremely stain resistant. The Django could be good and it will be interesting to see what they do about the steel liners needed for their crossbar lock as if this is not also the correct steel it wil reduce the overall effectiveness of providing a stain resistant knife. Kunwu in my opinion provide the best bang for your buck for a factory (non custom) knife.
Great video.... really got me thinking about grabbing a Tao and having a Hole put in it 😂..... What else can I do while waiting on your new knife to take shape 😊
I dig Kunwu. Really want to pick up the Chad in ASP 60, but I'm not really interested in Crossbar locks anymore. But that's not Kunwu's fault, so I'm hoping they are still doing the Tao S in PM 60 in the future (as I know that was the original plan with the Tao S when the Vanax run was over). Or a future model that's a Frame Lock or an inset liner lock. I also hope that the new models will have T8 body screws, but that is just a personal thing since I always prefer to see larger and deeper hardware over T6 (especially on user knives).
I almost bought one of these last week . I almost bought a carbon fiber one for $200 new today , prob should have but I just picked up a TRM shadow and was liking this is as well . Do you know how it goes. L O L. My question is five months later do you still like this knife a lot and do you carry it or just pick it up too flick around ?
Fedex disposed of an emerson a131 poboy i bought 2-3 years ago which i found out through the tracking info as well . Called and they were fairly vague about it with me being the buyer not the seller. Ended up getting partial compensation through the seller after a while and lost overall on that deal. Pretty sure a Fedex employee got a new poboy in their pocket or maybe the seller claimed the insurance and stiffed me who knows but yeah I’ve definitely seen that before and its not cool…. Glad Kunwu took care of you and I’ve been eyeing the pulsar myself. Its a cool folder l!
Crazy the amount of reviewers of knives there are , it's getting to be a fashion thing with knives and critique of an item that will never be used for its purpose and when I see soft pudding hands I move on
The first one the Orion was all lies. Then they worked with kknives of Switzerland. Even at 60.5rc that elmax performs better than most m390 on the market. I haven't seen a model I want so I haven't jumped on them yet. But they are getting much better overall. Maxace dont know how to heat treat. 61rc with poor microstructure m390 is not good.
I didn't buy one, what was untrue about the first Orion kickstarter? Yea I was in the same boat with not liking any model aesthetically enough for a while. I actually liked the Zen aesthetics but I dont like triple deployment mechanisms
@@transparentknives i also like the design but not triple opening. The original was lied about and when we got it rc tested and cut tested it was bad. Below 60rc and cut tests were not good. They hyped it up so much and just wasn't what they advertised. He then started making up stuff about the marketing not lining up. Roman had to talk to him. Then they got better.
Oh f..k i have not seen you in a while 😂😂😂. How's it hanging there my dude? Roman did not talk to us we sent a sample to Roman and got all the tests to improve our overall approach including edge and that went into entire batch that we released . So i am glad you're back pisisng people off we missed you.

Kunwu are the best in customer service! And one of the best in production.
Thank you Transparent Knives
Someone from USPS stole a really good knife. Glad to hear Kunwu hooked you up with a new one.
I was lucky enough to have preordered a Pulsar. Absolutely love it! Such an amazing value
Glad I found Kunwu! Excited to see what else they can come out with. I got the same pulsar and it is awesome!
Glad to see you are on youtube. Thanks for the video!
Love content like this from people who are passionate about something, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the thorough video, Brian 🙏🙏 very informative 👌👍
Kun UwU gigachad knife sounds pretty dope ngl.

Good to know, that's a great geometry
@@transparentknives I was shocked how good it was, honestly. My Kunwu Zen's geometry was very close to your Pulsar's.
Another great video - thank you! I really appreciate your reviews - really thoughtful, honest, well-considered, and fair. I'm looking forward to more.

I love my Pulsar diamond. I changed the spring and I can't tell any difference.
Really good review, simple and informative. Really cool kunwu, the diamond milling looks great

My Pulsar rattles... something with the Axis* lock.

Like the straight forward review style without the corny attempts at humor throughout. Much better.
wow really short clip

I’ll buy it off you.
