As an Ohio State fan, Cade Stover might be the worst blocking TE in our school's history. He was a liability on every running play and one of the reasons our running game struggled all year. You can get away with that in the NFL if you're a great athlete but I'll be surprised if Stover's pass catching skill set translates. He's not big enough or fast enough.
Keon Coleman's basketball experience taught him how to create space for himself, regardless of footspeed. The guy gets open, and when the ball arrives, he comes down with it. First round value for sure.
I think he'll do very well to... it's all about separation and hands. No, you wont hit him in stride burning a DB but that's not the only way WRs achieve
@@dnice2000as a giants fan i think the only two quarterbacks worth taking in the first round are williams and maye… i agree jones is not the answer but i dont want us to take someone who wont be “the guy”, id like us to take nabers/odunze and then take a shot on rattler in the second
Casey Hampton was probably the most important piece of the Steelers Defense during his tenure with the team , just ask any of his teammates. He was more than worth a first round pick and worth a top ten pick for me personally . Same with the centers this year . A great center is the most important piece of the O line period for those of us who actually pay attention . So when I hear people saying Barton or JPJ aren’t worth the 20th pick , but the fifth or sixth raw , Injury prone , inexperienced OT . I know they’re just parroting what they hear from so called experts. Answer this if C isn’t valuable why do teams hold onto them for dear life when they get a good one. Also the reigning SB champs have arguably the best C in the league . It’s not a coincidence .
Great Response. I hear people like Carter and all the pundits talk about Mims and other tackles in the draft. I say that a tackle does not snap the ball! The Steelers passed on at least two really good centers. Creed Humphrey is now the center of the Superbowl champions. They could have drafted him if they wanted. If they want their aging QB that is trying to reclaim his stature and a young mostly unproven QB with a center they think they can turn into a center in Barton from Duke or someone else, like the Green experiment that failed and the Cole experience that just did not work out, they are not doing their QB any favors. If they are smart, they will take JPJ in round one if he is available. He is the most awarded center in the draft and all this talk from the Steelers pundits talking about value and all that stuff regarding a center, I tell you right now, if a team needs a center, they are going to take him round one, period! The center is only part of a unit. A good center coupled with the guards and tackles can really do some damage, so they need a CENTER, not someone they think they can convert to one. ala Green. The pundits are so enamored with getting a tackle to replace Moore they are missing the point. What about the center from Georgia who played in the vaunted SEC! No one talks about him. If the team is really going to run the ball, they need a center who can move, is strong, disciplined and focused and a player who can work within a unit. But most importantly, he needs to call the plays for the line and blends into the unit. Pouncey is not in the draft, but JPJ is. Take him Steelers and I think you will be happy.
Watch that South Dakota St film and check out McCormacks line mate OT Garrett Greenfield. 6-5 320 also a 4year starter prototypical size and a very good pass blocker. Should be a late rd pick or UDA with upside to become a starter with some development
@HalfTonChevy There are a ton of "freaks" that ended up being nothing. And he isn't anywhere near Cam Jordan lol. I don't care how it ages, we scout and give evaluations and you live with it. I hope the best for him. A great Baltimore scheme and he could be productive. But I wouldn't be picking him unless it's the 3rd round or lower.
It's so refreshing not seeing Mel disrespected by Mcshay all the time. Happy he got bounced. Mel has entertained us for the past 40 years. Excellent job as well Fields!
These guys are just the schefters of the draft. No real personal opinions on players. Just aggregating rumors and taking arbitrary positions to stray slightly from the consensus and drive engagement.
Mel Kiper spewing the 🐂 TV analyst mentality the whole not having players graded out where everyone else seems to be having them and "who cares, go with your gut" mentality. EXACTLY what had Mike Mayock draft like ABSOLUTE GARBAGE with the Raiders. Shocking everybody consistently taking guys EARLY and some even SIGNIFICANTLY EARLY, here's his list of 1st round picks: he took Clelin Ferrill, Jonathan Abrams, Alex leatherwood, Henry Ruggs and Damon Arnette. ALL HUGE BUSTS AND ALL TAKEN EARLY, all those picks taken with that exact same mentality that Mike speaks of, in fact Mike held the exact same type of TV sports analyst job and overall experience as Mel Kiper before taking the GM job. Lol yet these guys think they know their stuff, just take Mel's nick draft and throw it in the garbage where it belongs.
Yup I think he is going to be a productive player right away and he isn’t a one year wonder he was a very good player at Northwestern as well and graduated from there and I believe got his Masters degree at Virginia. He is my guy in this draft as far as of the radar guys
Dude go back to fantasy football 🏈 brother! I get you took the money they offered you, but not everyone is meant to cover NFL like that. I guess Congrats
@@Bman32x I think it really just came down to one pass being overthrown in Super Bowl 54, and in the last Super Bowl, an injury to Greenlaw, maybe the punt that went of a red shirted rookies foot or the CMC fumble, or the fact the refs never call a holding call on the chiefs in the SB. Unless it’s against Tom Brady.

That’s the vibe I’ve been getting for sure
Has to be, because that tongue isn't up Mel's rear for nothing

Why would you retire from making Mock drafts? LOL

Big fan of Isaiah Adams, Mason McCormick and Garrett Greenfield. Hoping at least one will end up on the Vikes.
You got it right Mel on Cade Stover. He will be a steal if he makes it to the fourth round.
He looks like Slappy from Goosebumps.
Darius Robinson is not it. Tweeners rarely work out. Position versatility is usually a false dream.
This might age well for you. But I'd bet it doesn't
Depends on the D coach putting him in right position..?

Teachers have been saying that for years
Great depth to this evaluation. Layers Below what the public gets to see…
Don’t sleep on Trey Taylor the safety out of Air Force. Might be a day 3 steal for some team.
This Fields is a gabber jaws. Not sure he really knows enough to take his opinions.
