- Tsubame Industries, a Tokyo-based startup, just unveiled its massive human-piloted robot. The four-wheeled robot named ARCHAX, which bears some resemblance to "Mobile Suit Gundam" from the popular Japanese animation series, is about 15-feet tall and weighs 3.5 tons. Tsubame CEO Ryo Yoshida plans to sell five units of the robot for nearly $3 million each. For access to live and exclusive video from CNBC subscribe to CNBC PRO: cnb.cx/2NGeIvi

Mechs starting as pure utilitarian robots in a world similar to ours (before eventually being used for crimes, spawning weaponised robot-units for police and the military as response), is exactly the plot of Patlabor.
And Gundam, too
Hey, I love that Anime.
this is not utilitarian in the slightest, It was designed to look awesome and It does that’s about It
@@Johnny_Galaxyno. Atleast not UC Gundam.
Robots came after we became space faring civilizations and the Zeon empire went against the federation, and the mobile suits were all military oriented. Gundam Mk 1 was the first model with complete ground, air and space capabilities at a highly agile level.
That were based on mobile worker...

Very few do
Most People: Why?
Ryo: Why not?
- Shall we do something useful with 5 million dallors? Will we invest in a vaccine and feed the hungry?
- Let's build a uselessly large robot so that young gamers and anime lovers will say: wow.
- Great idea!
@@romanshchedrin8851
At least it serves as a step towards robotic advancement. Eventually, these ideas and projects that are ridiculed by some will turn into something great that the future generation will take for granted. Even planes were first mocked when they were in their early stages and we all know how it is nowadays.
There are definitely other areas that could be cut down in order to invest more on solving medicinal aids and world hunger. For one thing, if more people could spend less on gacha mobile games or smoking and help to donate more, that would certainly help a lot. LOL
@@romanshchedrin8851plenty of money goes into "vaccines" and "feeding muh hungry"

The starts of Gundam
More like Armored Core
Patlabor
The start of the apocalypse more like
@@GhostOfDamned if the apocalypse is coming, at least make it fun, i'd wanna be fighting inside a mech when the time comes.
@@N.I.S.C the mechs are the apocalypse
Can you imagine a battle with them? Man, that would be as exciting as watching snails fight. "I am going to eventually punch you in the face!"
That's why you put upsized guns into their hands.
@@Lulu-ex7fc "Stand still, I am going to shoot you fairly soon!"
It's been done. The older model, the Kuratas, fought the megabots mech.
@@Lulu-ex7fcl to avoid useless sway it’s probably better to put them on shoulders/head

It bears some resemblance to "Mobile Suit Gundam" to people who have literally never seen any other mech thing.
Wow! This is Armored Core in real life, lol.
Ya boi's making a tank build. Don't forget the shotguns and songbirds.
Goddammit can't escape zimmers even in real life
Hey it's like the Kuratas mech, I hope more and more people with money start to make IRL mechs.
You do know this company wants to start selling these MECHS right (and yet a mech is cheaper than a Lamborghini)
Same people who worked on both projects?
@@swordimpulse07 unsure but i do know the company behind the mech in the thumbnail is trying
More people need to build this
More people need the money it takes to build this 😭
People need to Stop 🛑 this 🌎😳☠️💀😵💫😢

I gotta be honest, looks more like a Titan than a Gundam.
It's Wanderung Panzers aka Wanzers

Now I can play Armored Core VI in real life!
1. The first problem is how strong is this robot's hand to work for example if there is a disaster this robot's hand is likely to be able to lift the rest of the construction debris.
Also, for farming, too
finally, titanfall 3 released even better than expected
What I've always wanted. A 5 ton sloth.
Exactly! Feels like a 2x crane truck with anime aesthetics. Frikin' useless.
You do realize cars started out as dinky things as well, right? And planes started out as hand gliders? And tanks were basically lumbering unmanueverable death traps? This is pretty much the beginning of a new line of development.
They probably can move faster, but choose not to for the video
@@ryoid6001 exactly, kinda like how ships have something called full speed and flank speed. Where the former is something like 50% of max speed while the latter is true max speed and only reserved for imminent danger because maintenance is a thing.
@@ryoid6001 What a SMART move! Props to the marketing department 😂😂😂😂😂 Who wants to see a fast moving robot? NOBODY 😂😂😂
What the fruck, haha
Don't make it look like an anime Gundam robot if it's gonna move like a tractor, man!
Does it have an.... armed core? =D
Yes yo that's a beginning of the Gundam robot danm
Universal Studio needs to buy this.
Does it come with a cup holder?
Does it come with a toilet?
It can hold a giant cup if that counts.
kkkk
Can it handle stairs?
Bet it would be good @ fighting the fires of Rubicon
This was done over 10 years ago and was called Kuratas by Suidobashi heavy industry. It's the same machine. It even fought the U.S.' Megabot.
Now I know what I want for Christmas
Is this one better than Kuratas that was built more than 10 years ago?
Big robots before gta6 is crazy
Great job dude.
Mech-warriors
Robot war battles extreme.
All fun and games till you hear “brace for titanfall” on your radio
The booster module to go above 6/mph and omni wheel for maneurability are missing
gundam
I think it has to be able to reach forward and pick stuff up directly in front of it to be useful
Like a ….. forklift……
Those fingers remind me of Ingram AV 98 from Shinohara Heavy Industries. Better start asking when we'll get to create the Minovsky-Ionesco Reactor. 😅
Unbelievable... How slow it is! 😮
we're freeing mars from slavery with this one
I wonder if they'll ever pit Archax against Kuratas
My thought, exactly. The cockpit and the legs are kinda the same.
Kuratas is long gone by now. The last video it was shown in it looked worse than the first video 11 years ago. Or maybe they're just upgrading it it has been 2 years after all.
How many hit points does it have?
Bois Fallout Sentry Bot has dropped 💯🔥
When a gundam fan has too much money, this happens. Either way, I'm here for it!
This is the synthetic humanoid EVANGELION, humanity's last hope for survival. This is unit 01, and you, shinji, are the pilot.

Pretty cool. Don't know what you would do with it, but I like it
I want one !
We're getting one step closer to having life sized, fully operational gundams
WANZERS!
Front mission vibes for sure
Let's be honest here, there will most definitely be some political interests if this category of technology advances. Most mecha anime has taught the population what the most advanced industry will result in, especially Gundam (those of you who watch a lot of its series). It is cool, though don't get me wrong.
Do u think wars fought with gundams rather than nukes would be more beneficial? Although that doesn’t mean they couldn’t just drop them either if they get to an advanced state of flying, just a thought, maybe world leaders would like the idea of battles fought with mechs instead cause it’s cool lol
@@MsMango-rq6cw They'd be way more effective than nukes for capturing places you need at least somewhat intact. Still probably nowhere near as practical as tanks or infantry though.
@@legorocketraccoon8297 true true although maybe in the next few decades we’ll see something way faster and more nimble? It’d be really cool to see
If the real life political interests coincide with the political interests of Gundam's creator, I'm looking forward to it
Don't want to be that guy but, anime isn't real. Hey I like anime too but let's be real, if they want millitaries to use mechs they'll have to do more than make cool animations and shoddy prototypes.
So far mechs have only proven to be less capable then all other modes of transportation, and the only thing going for them is cool factor, but cool factor alone won't win government contracts let alone wars.
Anime comes to life! Love it!
One step closer to Armored Core
What they need is rocket boots and beam saber
That mech kinda reminds me of Front Mission
this is it boys, its either kaijus or gundam and im primed for both
Give it spheric wheels, faster servos, couple of guns and it's gonna be a dream!! 🤤🤤
It has 5 fingered hands, wich means that the guns can be easily manufactured by a third party by mounting a grip and a trigger on a tank gun.
@@arx3516 can you imagine how awesome and fascinating that would be?)) They may build tanks already with grips for these mechs) the mech approaches the fallen tank, just rips the canon out and use it as a weapon )) well, that's probably not a good thing to be that hyped about weapons of destruction, but man, mechs may become a reality one day!) @@punkloseroramaimma be fully honest with you mechs like this would be pretty bad at fighting they would be much more useful in the construction industry or for warehouse sorting or disaster relief

Not really this wouldn’t be very good for fighting would make more sense for it to be used in construction or disaster relief or maybe werehouse storage
Will only be impressed to see a 85 ton battlemaster. Assault mech
I just know somebody is gonna replace one of the arms with gun
Whoa, top speeds of SIX miles an hour...
WW3 finna be like titanfall
This reminds me a lot about kuratus
A lot of people here seemingly don't know about kuratas...
This kinda looks like mobile tanks from mobile suit Gundam.

All systems nominal.
I wanna see ARCHAX vs Kuratas
What is this for?
Is this a kuratas reboot ?
Patlabor or Ghost in the shell in reality my good!
Thats cool, now fill it with LCL
they should've called it the Armored Core
Make it utilitarian electrical maintenance in power line. Construction. Lunar mining. Farming etc. So it can be viable
In the US we are arguing over who gets to use what bathroom, in Japan they are building mecha…
Looks like a tetrapod mt from ac6
Didn't another company build exactly this but alot faster and less bulky
Kuratas
Getting real Metal Gear vibes from this.
I was hoping for a Mech from Battletech , not a car with arms
A slow moving car with arms mind you
I mean, every early versions of mechs on almost all mecha fiction starts up with wheels/tracks
now build "YMT-05 Hildolfr"
Armored core!
Arasaka. Who would have thougth.
Stand by for titanfall
I need one with RX-78 colors
Gundam Wing has entered the chat.
This looks exactly like the combat bots in fallout 4 lol
The dude made a armored core
First thing I would do is go to a drivethru.
Hasta que no lo vea trabajar y ver qué función ejercerá y si es mejor que cualquier otra máquina convencional, no diré wao😮
I'd rather it have an open air roll cage cockpit, imagine working a full shift of construction crammed into that surrounded by screens and no real light or fresh air, you'd probably go nuts
"And I'll form the head"
Imagine a police version coming up behind you fast on the freeway......
Heat of the desert
dust settles on my face
Early models always silly but fast forward with constant R&D, you get the next possible killing machine.
That's what I never got about people looking at early designs. It's so shortsighted to see the first few iterations of a new technology and ridicule it, then with each new iteration and improvement they just move the goalposts as if the new issue to make fun of weren't already something R&D is looking into for the next model.
Coming to a police station near you! Armed with missles
