Talked to Gary once after coming in to replace a broken 733. He disapproved of that light of a rod for that heavy jig hook. Recommend a sierra 735 if not going for the champ line of glass rods. I had trouble with losing them a lot with the 733. I ended up getting the 736 glass champ for dedicated ½ oz plus jacks and have not lost one on it that gets a good bite.

For open water smallies I really like the imx pro 883c bjr. I am really interested in the new glx 873 bjr. I had a ton of customers also show interest in it at shows this year

Dobyns sierra 734c is right there too just above 150$, cheaper if on sale or used. One of the best for the money. I also really like the new graphite dobyns champion 746cb for under 300$ (well under used or on sale).

I’m glad to hear you’re going to post more videos and I have a Curado 7’2” MHG that works great for the price, but I have the Expride and the Poison Adrena, so I’m feeling pretty smart at this point. Being a Shimano 4life kinda guy, I’m going to add a rod I’ve had for 7 years and it has never let me down, it’s a Duckett White Ice that I bought on eBay for cheap and I am not a Duckett fan but my brother and I found these rods at an online auction and together we bought 10. I’m not sure they make anything like that white ice, and you can’t find a new one, but I use 4 of them along with my Shimano, and GLoomis(6 IMX Pros) and I am retired and fish in a few clubs here in the Raleigh NC area lakes as well as Kentucky Lake and Cumberland ( I’m from Kentucky originally). I’ve bought over a dozen rods and reels from ALF in the past 9 years ❤ keep up the great job ❤

The Curado 7'2" MHG is a great rod option for the money, the Expride and Poison Adrena seem to be a bit more refined with a thinner glass blank which is the reason we love shimano glass rods!

I've owned several 736 and 735 Glass Dobyns rods and yes they are good chatterbait rods . I use the Kistler Feel and Reel now and am more happy with them

All great options and I'd like to add St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass LBTC73HMF Flip-Chat-Crank 7'3" Heavy/Mod-Fast. I do also have the Shimano Expride but the St. Croix has shown to be the best at ripping through the thick grass of the upper Chesapeake Bay where I fish. Just a suggestion, thanks for what you do.

I’m interested in picking up one of those Flip chat crank rods. How deep does it load and is it good for 1/2oz jackhammers plus trailer?

    • @conwayhayden-oh6gm
      @conwayhayden-oh6gm Месяц назад +1

@@GaryAnderson87 I have had zero lost fish in heavy grass as it loads up evenly and absorbs all of the fishes efforts to release itself from the bait. It has a stiff enough tip to rip it through heavy grass and is more than meaty enough for 1/2 oz Chatterbaits. I have probably 70 rods and this (St. Croix Legend Tournament Bass LBTC73HMF Flip-Chat-Crank 7'3" Heavy/Mod-Fast) has become my favorite as I know when they're hooked that they are coming the boat.

@@conwayhayden-oh6gm thank you so much man! I’ve been looking for a higher end graphite chatterbait rod for a long time and this might be the one. Most are either too stiff and the fish jump off, or they’re too soft to rip out of grass. I fish a ton of water willow which is a very tough shoreline grass, and thick hydrilla flats so I need some power. Glass is just too clunky and dead sensitivity wise for me

    • @RyanSmith-fb8rf

I am actually looking at this rod now. I’ve used every rod out there from Diawa Rebellion Glass to Expride Glass and didn’t like either one so I went back to my St Croix Victory 7’3 MHF. They are great but I’ve broken 3 rods all in the same place so I’m going up to the LTB rods and the 7’3HMF is what I’ll probably go with. I fish heavy hydrilla lakes in Florida and glass rods are out of the question. Glad to read your review on this rod.

  • @k_ike_fishing

Another rod to look at is the new Fenwick reaction series rods. I have been throwing 3/8 & 1/2 ounce chatterbaits on the medium heavy 7‘5“ elite rod, and it has been absolutely phenomenal. Similar to a glass rod does not have as deep of a bend and Keeps fish pinned better than any rod I have ever used for chatter bait.

Absolutely love my 72mhg poison adrena. Such a crisp rod. Has a really nice flex in the tip but great backbone and power. I’ve owned more rods than I can count from cheap to NRX+ and the the poison adrena lineup has been my favorite from price, looks and fishabiltiy. I’ve bought for 4 different poison adrena models from American legacy this year alone

    • @Americanlegacyfishing

The Poison Adrena is one hell of a rod for the money, might not be as sensitive as the NRX+ but the action and fishability is incredible!

Absolutely! Can’t go wrong in my opinion with that rod, especially with some of the deals you guys run on them. I have the 72mhg, 72h, 73mh and 7m spinning and love each model and what they bring to the table.

Seems like a good list to me. I use the Expride and find it to be perfect. I do want to try the new chatter bait rod from G loomis in the GLX line. But as someone that owns 12 Exprides at the moment. It is just hard to want to spend more when they preform so well. I’ll be checking back in to see more techniques and rods. 🎣

The Expride series has such great models and actions it's definitely hard to pick a different brand or series once you have fished with them! The GLX is something we are very excited to try! Might be coming out with a GLX product test video soon 🫢

@@Americanlegacyfishing wow that would be a great video. I will for sure be on the lookout for if or when it comes along. I am interested in the GLX line a little. Mainly the Chatter and Jerkbait models. Totally agree i am from Texas so large bass there for sure, just moved to Tennessee this year and while i haven’t caught any i know they have some big ones also. So i love to power fish with mid to high end gear. Loving the channel so far.
