We used to have seconds.. where you could go up and get another main meal or dessert after all the kids were fed.. I would always go for the pudding. Glad you liked it Cheers:)
ive made your jam pudding twice once in the oven and once steamed both turned out wonderful but i preferred it 100 percent steamed thank you for this i was missing this for years x
Thank you for demonstrating how to make this. It really is a lovely tasting dessert, though it's not complicated. I don't like desserts that have too many ingredients. And you're too right - it is a shame that school kids don't get this anymore.
Thanks for watching, yes the old school dinners your right once a week this was no one for me and I still love it, glad you like the video and happy it brought back some fond memories for you to:)

Hold on to your hat Lyndsay more of this to come. Ha Ha glad you like the video, my next recipe is bangers and mash the old recipe with a twist soon on Mooney's Kitchen:)
Schools never did it like this. They had big packs of ‘sponge mix’ delivered and they just added milk or eggs. Same for the custard - big pots of Bird’s custard powder made up with hot milk.
