The 5.0 R-Spec is a beast with 429 horsepower. Kind of a heavy car but still not what people expect when they pull up beside of a hyundai at a red light.
Big facts
I have a 2012 Equus with 5L V8. This car is fast in sports mode. On the highway watch out this thing moves out. I love this car. Great luxury cruiser.
I got one a year ago. In the 90's I had a hopped up Rx7 Twin Turbo. All Modded. This car is a Beast to say the Least. Love It. Total Sleeper.
Fckrs can move, my '12 Gen 4.6 was quick. But I've since moved up to a 13 Equus Signature 5.0 and I thought it would be similar since the added weight. Nah, I can make the Equus torque roll on a launch, it makes my seat creak a little 🥰😅

like it reminds me of my brother's mustang 4.6L. it's got a unique sound to it, very similar too it under load too.
Dude listen the stock interior sound of the Ferrari 288 GTO in Horizon 4 while driving it in manual. That thing sounds sick when under load.

I had absolutely no idea Hyundai made a V8. Especially a 4.6 and a 5.0! Just like Mustangs. I wanted to V8 swap my 08 Tiburon with one the Ford engines but now that I know I can keep it full Hyundai I will look into those.

A 2014-15 Black Equus 5.0 with a custom exhaust ripped by me today, all black everything , looked & sounded like a beast.

Nah I think builds that keep the engine from the same manufacturer is cooler and almost represent what that car would've been like from the factory.

They come with about 400 plus horsepower stock. Throw a supercharger on it and bring 500-600 horsepower in a fucking luxury sedan
It's fast because it's light weight and has a big v8 in it

So do you suggest the 2.25" inlet or do you think a 2.5" would work better. I have seen many of both suggestions so I want to go with what would work better and be easier to install.
The stock pipes are 2.25". I accidentally went with 2.5" though for an exhaust bypass valve on a 2012 Genesis sedan and it was welded on fine, I had no problems.

I think you’re talking about the resonator. The resonator acts kind of the muffler, keeping the loud lower, that’s why they deleted it. I think

It will sound like a wet fart ...don't do it ...just upgrade to a v8....no replacement for displacement.

@@TotalxTroll25k Im busting balls. I havent seen anyone do just those 2 things. Most people do x-pipes, modified or muffler delete. I would remove rear cats regardless, you dont need em then Id change the rear mufflers to something with dual tips
@@geoffreykidder5694 I gotcha. The sad thing is I saw someone get rid of the resonator and secondary cats and it sounds bad. Because removing the muffler is where you get the best sound the best idea that I plan on going with is muffler delete and replace the resonator with some Glasspacks. Secondary cats may get removed later

Well let's be honest which one is more Durable the 4.6 VS 5.0??? I always wanted a Equus but these Engines don't go 250-300,000 Miles like a Lexus and Infiniti V8 do easy.
Do you know for sure they won't make it to 200k? I know of a few already there.

Oh hell yeah bro I got the 3.8 v6 2012 and I be swanging this thing but Al though you might need to turn of esc from unplugging the fuse for esc cuz it’s safety system sucks ass 40% of the time even tho you turn off esc with button it’s still not of all the way

They definitely have the performance to be one. Hyundai just went too conservative with the styling. That's okay though. They're super cheap now

I love the sounds of my 2012 genesis 4.6 exhaust... my 09 sounded just as nice.. the guys say the sounds don't match the car.. lol

I got a magnaflow magnapack ( 10416 ) on my 2018 nissan altima sl 2.5l. Cut my exhaust right after the flange after catalytic converter, put the magnaflow magnapack then 2.5 from there, then 2.5 inlet / outlet then 2.5 from out the back. Cut the mufflers off, and put 4 inch diameter 12 inch long 2.5 exhaust inlet. A little droney put sounds nice. I gained a little over 2 miles more to the gallon
Update : I bought a vibrant resonator
( 1141 ) 2.5 inlet / outlet to calm the droney sound down some.

That 4.6l hit that shit to the fullest and did not go any where at all my 6.1l 06 chrysler 300 wouldve went faster and its a landyacht
Came in at 116 and peaks at 109 after so we brought it down by 10-12 decibels. Don’t ever question the math guys lol .
