The Jerry-Brent mind meld that starts at about@2:47 is one of the more intense mind melds I have seen between the two , the rest of the band just kind of fades away there for a few , and the audience kind of fades away , all that is left is Jerry and Brent having a long drawn out conversation about lawn trimmers .

This is priceless
I love this one-especially when Jerry "challenges" Brent, and as the talented keyboardist he was,he really keeps track.🙂❤
This will go down as one of the most precious moments ever filmed at a Dead show. and i AM a DeadHead and listen to them pretty much every day, but this…, nothing compares to this. ✌🏼 🌺 ☀️☠️
U r so rite Tara I just love Jerry & Brent ! They can’t stop looking away from each other it’s so awesome !!
Jerry makes me smile!
There is pure magic between Jerry and Brett, and Mickey is slamming !
Watching Jerry and Brent is like watching the mothership communicate at the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Fucking magic.
Cast to my 70inch TV. Amazing
Miss the old days . A grateful dead head over 40 yrs
Man no one does what the dead does! Their concerts are just an experience!
Nice seeing Brent Smile. His voice was like no other. God Bless Em. 😇🙏
The coolest use "Um, Bop, Bop 'um, bop, bop" ever!
Omg this is everything...like im crying. Jerrs and Brent? Like totally representing the bond between us deadheads...this song, is fam.
So much love, finesse, soul, and pure sorcery going on here. I do not understand why this is not the most viewed video on the internet ever. The ability they have to channel celestial and ancestral knowledge through their instruments will never be humanly possible again. Thank everyone and everything this video even exists. Holy Moses the heeby jeebies one gets during the hand off soloing is unmatched. Will most likely be consuming this video every day for the rest of my life or as long as the World Wide Web exists.
there was a love of the music between Jerry and Brent that hadnt been seen or felt for a long time, they truly loved playing together, it was magic!
That shot at 1:54 gives me chills
Seriously 1 of the best Not Fade Aways ever!! So rich & full of life!!
my buddy died 2 days ago,in our hearts forever love you al
Jerry and Brents natural chemistry was never more apparent and awesome than on this night. RIP to you both and thank you!
Anyone could see that the band and fans have a sacred energy.
❤🎉❤
Goosebumps at the end when the crowd is singing. Brent is absolutely awesome in every single video I watch.
I might be fading away but till they put me in my final resting place the joy I feel from being a Deadhead is undeniable.
Nenita and myself were there , on our honeymoon !❤️❤️❤️
Still watching!
Never gets old listening to this!!! This my freinds is MUSIC!!!!!!
This is one of the best shows the Dead 💀 ever did. Even the band thought so too. They had the whole show released through the record company. So you could go to your local record store back then and buy it. Now it’s online on Re-listen app or website. I was there, fun show. Great time. Thanx for posting this.
Oh my goodness I was there for that show. We jump the wall to get down onto the floor then me and this other big guy just wormed our way toward the front and it was just fantastic. Lots of memories. At least those that I do remember.
I just want to thank my nephew Nick for turning me on to the videos from 1989
What an awesome game of back and forth between Brent and Jerry in the middle there ❤
Jerry and Brent’s back and forth at the 2:54 mark is magic
My love hasn’t faded away yet after all the years gone by I still love Jerry so much ! ❤️🐇🐰🌹☠️💀⚡️🎸🪽🕊️🥲😥😰👻
I was at this show and THAT exchange was THE BEST thing I've seen and HEARD✌💞💞✌
@@mitakuyeoyasin1043 u are blessed! I unfortunately have never seen the dead, but over the years have definitely grown to learn and appreciate what they do. And until I saw this piece of music and the exchange between Sheree and Brent I am absolutely blown away! I think this is a magic people talk about❤️
And don't forget Phil, improvising a different bass line in every measure, without any eye contact. Old time Dead Freaks can make out Phil's key riff from Love Light in the mix. Because Phil usually didn't play loud, his contribution to the band's energy can be overlooked.
Lawn trimmers?
@@luisserrano5951 Man you wouldn't believe me even if I told you , but it whack off all your weeds if you let it . cheers ! 💨💨💨
Brent and Jerry were 1 in this show. Amazing.
@@johnsaffire9889 I’m gonna go with cocaine judging by the bug eyes
'89 was the Dead at one of their peaks and what a hot version of this song. Love the interplay between Jerry & Brent and they was having a good ole time. Not Fade Away! ;o)
ALOHA..... first saw at a FREE concert at American University, in Washington, D.C. in September 1972..… my "dead head" friends at the time said they were done!!!...…. hahahahahaha……. they have been great since 1965..... EACH combination wonderful in its own way..... none better than any other!!!!!
Brent was special
We stood outside for to long.. in the snow. Still a great memory
This song ages with dignity and grace. It stands as one of the best of rock and roll. Thank you, Buddy and the Dead. They're jamming in Rock and Roll Heaven.
Unfortunately, at the time I was into thrash metal and punk rock. I had friends bring me back 'goodies' from this show. That was the blotter that changed my life. If only my walls were broken down sooner. We miss you, Jerry.
This is 1 of my all time favorite "not fade away" versions of the Brent era. He really pulled the Dead into the best incarnations of all, ( no disrespect Pigpen, ). Was a joy watching Jerry/Brent go back and forth EVERY NIGHT!!!! Blessed to have been there. And to think I almost didn't drive up after Foxboro, last minute decision. 1 of best the best I've ever made 🤯🥳
Jerry freakin' loved Brent.
Yep. I was there for that one.... The floor shook exiting the stadium as the crowd chanting "Our love will not fade away!"
