of course your not suppose to clean them. you think I don't know that? but however I believe every collector is different. you want to buy a grimy crappy coin with a bunch of patina on it then go ahead. but if rather have a coin from 1896 that looks like its MS has detail and shines. they say cleaning them damages the Value but if you even have a Key date in super crappy worn condition its not gonna be worth half as much as a MS. its all about the collector and as a collector I prefer to have clean visible coins.

Alberto, not all old coins are valuable. Look at PCGS. We have coins from recent years that are valuable and if are cleaned, will lose value. Some will lose THOUSANDS of dollars due to being cleaned. It’s never a good idea to clean any coin if you’re a collector. Distilled water is about all that should be used. Ask any coin collector.

Golden Touch, not true. Extra virgin olive oil works wonders, just don't over do it, 30 seconds max rubbing it between your fingers. Then rinse in warm tap water. You're welcome.
