though I had some problem with sea water It also ruclips.net/user/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn
it says , how to clean copper coins ...im still waiting to find out as all this video does is cover coin with pencil lead simply to show up detail ...DOES NOT CLEAN COIN AT ALL ....
Can this method work on all coppers coins that’s a pretty worn but you can see a small silhouette and what did bring out things that we couldn’t see? Not that we get a lot of coppers here in Louisiana I guess we’re more prone with the Spanish silver
Good way to bring out the detail! Never thought of that! very nice Queen Victoria! I have a 1916 large cent as well! Nice largies you got there (: good luck out there
I swore he was going to use the eraser on the pencil. I mean if you want to clean it those things work suprisingly well. its an abrasive so it wont leave the coin untouched but it works better than alot of the acid combos people will suggest
I will try this on some of my wheaties but I am not sure for my older coppers. I'm concerned the graphite would wear away the details on the older ccoppers. Just my viewpoint.
Hi! you are very smart Sir.. No chemical or something . I found yesterday lot of copper old coins in the ditch here is London ,and looking for the way to clean them up to see something ;-) Last time I use Coke and vinegar and totally most damage them;-( No more mistakes . The monarchs on Canadian coins faced in different directions. Queen Victoria faced left. King Edward VII faced right. King George V and King George VI faced left while Queen Elizabeth II faced right (they skipped Edward VIII who would have faced right). King Charles will face left. They alternate!

And not one person figured that out at 3:24 he switches the coin
I realize this is an older video, but I suspect if you had any truly valuable coins and did this prior to submitting them for grading, they'd come back as cleaned/details, which would utterly destroy whatever value they had. If it's just worth $2 even in great condition, no harm no foul, but had you done this to a coin with a hypothetical value of $20,000, you would have turned it into a $2 coin. At least I'm speculating, I'd love to be proven wrong. I don't really collect copper, except in sealed mint sets (regular and proof), though I'm not even buying most of those anymore and haven't for some time. Have you, the OP, or anyone for that matter, sent coins "cleaned" in this manner in for grading and authentication?
You just ruined what ever value you ever had rubbing your coins worst of all using an eraser on metal its a abrasive no matter how light you scrub its ruined.
@@j_gray8642 depends on the coin, the coin he has isn't rare at all so its no loss really. If he was using a rare coin however then its best to not clean it as it holds its value, cleaning it rids it of some value

There's nothing like abrasion to restore a coin! lol
you want it to rot away?
@@voidremoved Yeah that's what I said. 🥴
If you leave this, doesn’t it just keep consuming the copper?
Everybody has their own way ! I find it interesting to see all the different ways and all the out comes. Yous look pretty good without much effort :-)

Pretty neat. I’ve dug my coppers our of clay along the river. They come out like bright copper, but are really wore from the clay.
Is this video about how to clean the coins,or how to make them even more dirty?

Interesting but Couldn't you get lead poisoning by rubbing the lead into your fingers?
It's pencil lead-which is harmless graphite.
As you can clearly see, with a blurred focus. Yeah really Popped!
Thanks for the advice on cleaning copper
I've heard ketchup can clean copper coins.
It will "clean" them but will also be too agressive to older coppers and practically ruin your coin forever
This is amazing
Dont do it with rare coins, You'll kill them.
Looking exactly like Aana of India
The eraser works too
do you know why the face is reversed on this specific coin? or am i just looking at it wrong
I think it’s because he’s using a camera and it reverses everything

Put cheap coopers in tomatoes sauce for a night...voila

Good video man!
Better way use vinigar and salt if you use this tip you could be wiping off details.
Next video: advanced camera techniques!
Seriously... DON'T do this to coins. 🤦♂
Use tamarind and salt. It works. I've tried.

I’m pretty sure I’ve subscribed to you before, I d know why it kicked me off. Anyway, great information, I just subscribed!
Word to the wise….be careful doing this . I did it to a 1837 large cent and now you can’t see the date!!
Good
Any toothpaste rub with a tooth brush is the better way
Thank you .. from ' princess diaries by Wathsu ' channel
very nice
All you've done is paint the coin with Graphite. The coin is now a graphite mess. What you call nice is horrible. Like new again it's green again.
Interesante. Лайк 👍. Дружим.

Is it really best to leave the coin as it was?

Becareful if cleaning alot like that, surely you might get lead & copper issues/poisoning. Maybe wear nitrile gloves.
The "lead" in pencils is not actually lead. Its graphite which as he says is just carbon
I has one 1903 one quarter Anna of india
