The Cedric nameplate was in recognition of the assistance given to Nissan by the British car industry after the war. The Cedric sold in Australia in the early to mid-60s. A 1963 model Cedric featured as a dorky hand-me-down car in the Australian comedy film, The Big Steal.
I had the same issue with my Carina 1982. I bought it in 2007 and the tires looked relatively okay and never actually checked how old they were. That was until I found it with a flat tire at the local supermarket half a year later. I swapped the flat one for the spare wheel and was a bit afraid the spare wouldn't hold as it was the original wheel. Once I got home I checked the flat one and found out the tire was manufactured in 1984, just like all other three tires on the car. The tires looked good from the outerside, but on the inner side some of the tires showed similar cracks. I guess I have been very lucky it didn't blow on the highway. Salient detail: the previous owner drove all the way back and forth to Croatia! (1200 kilometers) About the Gloria/Cedric designation: you are right about the Gloria being Prince and Cedric being Nissan. What happened after the merger is that the original Prince dealerships kept selling the Prince models while the Nissan kept selling Nissan models. Nissan even added new models to this afterwards, hence the Gazelle and Silvia division. From what I know this division between dealerships still exists today.
@@worldhello1234the infiniti m is a rebadged cedric/gloria using the same chassis and style, so yes they are the same vehicle but different specs for different countries! Parts can even be shared with eachother too including ecu programs.
Used to have one in same color until last year. Nissan moved on to Fuga as continuation of Cedric/Gloria, but Fuga doesn't look as good as Y34. 3L Turbo versions with CVT are the best JDM Y34's you can get.
Id like to import one of these to the UK. I had a great chance to have a 3 litre (but had cvt sadly), bright white with spoiler, rear reversing cam, reclining back seats etc.. one of the best cars id like to reown. Something special about those cars even a mercedes and currently my volvo c70 cant beat
I have an 03 infiniti m45 the exact same color as this. I'm so glad infiniti decided to put the 4.5L v8 in the m45s over here in the states instead of the slower V6
I'm sure the V6 is nice but I've been spoiled by the 4.5 litre. I like power and it has plenty of it. Plus with my modifications, mines has close to 400HP. It's definitely a sleeper!
It has 240 hp. Sadly this Y34 was the last Cedric. I understand the new revival of Nissan after 1999. But sadly Toyota kept most of their old nameplates. It wouldn´t hurt to name the Fuga Cedric or Gloria. Yes I also like the floor mats the put on many cars.
Wow... that's a nice nissan... am amazed with the dashboard the stylish gauge clusters r joined with the navigation screen n that same style Mercedes did in their new model🙄 copy cats
its called nostalgy. today we love human horizon hiphi x and avatr 011, yesterday we loved toyota caldina and nissan gloria. 20 years changed the world!
Guys, can someone enlighted me... WHY these absolutely below average, too big, too boxy, terrible named Toyotas are sought after so much? It just seems SO god damn completely random to me.. it looks like a couple of cool people had one, (The Cedric, Celsior and the Crown) Like im looking at all 3, Im literally not seeing anything that would make these any better than any other large car of the era, BMW 5's, BETTER Toyotas (What about the Carine e? haha jk), or ANY other brands large cars back between like 85 and 05. They're really just.. non descript, i mean you could even throw in the European version of 2.2 litre Toyota Camry is looking like these too, which were powerful and very big. The late 80's early 90's Crowns are just horrible, they're just SO boxy, there's nothing memorable about what they look like to me, at all. The Crown is just a big square car, that kinda looks like those podiums the medalist stands on at the Olympics. So whats the deal? I find no charm with the look at all. Nothing Memorable. Then the Celcior. I'll admit the 02 model is maybe .. getting there a bit? but the ones before that, just again, a blocky, non descript... bleh. They're so nondescript, i bet if you threw in a Nissan Stagea next to any of those cars from the early 90s to eraly 00's and asked a car enthusiast who had no real knowlege of Jap only cars. he wouldn't be able to tell you who made what. Do you get me? Im not trying to be a knob it's just i never got it with those. It seems SO totally random how the very weird car enthusiast world picks its favorite cars. (And why do such a MASSIVE percentage of these people all seem to love the SAME cars, even if the car everyone likes isn't either the fastest, best looking, biggest or most comfortable) it just seems like it's a Turkeyshoot. And i suspect like in most things on earth most of your "Hardcore" fans of these cars or whatever, are actually just indians, and not the chiefs, a couple of well known "Cool" guys in big circles, show up in a decked out celsior, that looks cool but still not NEARLY as cool as your GTR V spec etc So there's 5 GTR vs there, and only 1 or 2 celsiors owned by 2 of the actual chiefs who use their own brains. Then next year? Same meeting?? All of a sudden you've got 14 Celsiors there all tricked out in different ways and you have mostly the same guys from last year who never heard of the celsior now acting like it's been theiur favorite car since release day in 1991m and that they're life long experts on the cars. You know what i mean.
i think you don't understand. this car was born in 1999, got a 2.5T with 265hp, awd and automatic, few cars with 4x4 and AT got more power in the segment (only audi A6 4.2, S6, mercedes e 430 4matic and 55 amg 4 matic). It's frame-less 4 door, sedan before the mercedes cls was born, well designed and super-reliable. It makes look your average american chrysler 300c like a dinosaur basically. If it was available for comparative test in north america or europe, it would have absolutely destroyed the competition at the time...all of this 23 years ago...just think about it.
anyway, I'm not an hardcore fan about this car, neither nissan, bro. I just have a big interest in car, every car, from the remote australian utes untill the modern chinese weird ev (including special european and south american vehicles). Next time I hope I can live europe finally and move to Canada, and there i wanna buy my last ICE car, an exclusive brand new model that ill keep literally forever. My target would be a brand new 911 4s manual transmission, with, as only option, the ceramic brakes (f.u. porsche with your expensive useless policy option). Then I'll keep the car forever, whereas my wife can enjoy her electric sad suv (she's looking at the cadillac lyriq awd, that looks like a good deal). But im not gonna lie, the nissan gloria, expecially the 2.5T awd is pretty sweet to me! Maybe if i find one in black and i have space in Canada in the garage, i'll get one eventually
I was waiting for a Cedric for soo long, THANK YOU DEREK

Yes Nissan Blue Stage and the "Prince" cars are sold under the Nissan Red Stage.
Oh and the didn´t drop the Gloria name for the Y34.
Very nice car, what's the black box on the dash for?
Is that rust by the trunk where sponge/rubber goes around?
Beautiful Infiniti M!! Probably one of the prettiest Nissan sedans of its time, much prettier than a similarly aged GSs!!
It is a JDM car and has nothing to do with an Infiniti M.
@@worldhello1234the infiniti m is a rebadged cedric/gloria using the same chassis and style, so yes they are the same vehicle but different specs for different countries! Parts can even be shared with eachother too including ecu programs.
I'm looking for a replacement video input jack do you know were I could get the part or the part number?
My grandpa's 2003 Camry has like 50 k kilometers on it and it is super clean except the rear right door is really really messed up.
Thanks a million, Derek!

looks like a 2010 car to me
What an interesting car.I actually like it!
It has a lincoln hood ornament?
Id like to import one of these to the UK. I had a great chance to have a 3 litre (but had cvt sadly), bright white with spoiler, rear reversing cam, reclining back seats etc.. one of the best cars id like to reown. Something special about those cars even a mercedes and currently my volvo c70 cant beat
What is the black box in the front passenger side footwell?
I like that hood ornament. Not seen often on current cars.
This is a great channel.
Hopefully we can c a vid of that Evo soon

I have an 03 infiniti m45 the exact same color as this. I'm so glad infiniti decided to put the 4.5L v8 in the m45s over here in the states instead of the slower V6
I don't recall ever seeing the M45 in Canada. I know they had them in the states but sometimes Canada doesn't get all the same cars as the USA.
Canada definitely received the M45, just wasn't a popular choice.
PacificCoastAuto Yeah but you Canadians had the X-Trail and we don't get those
I'm sure the V6 is nice but I've been spoiled by the 4.5 litre. I like power and it has plenty of it. Plus with my modifications, mines has close to 400HP. It's definitely a sleeper!
There's a 3.0L Turbo version of this JDM model which has the same stock hp with 4.5L V8.
How much did this car sell for
We got these in the states, but as a high performance V8 to complete with Lexus GS430
It's an Infiniti m45 with an hood ornament
Infiniti cars are made by Nissan lol
It's just like Toyota & Lexus, Infiniti is just a somewhat more luxurious version of the Nissan
Rene E.K I know that. thats why I said it
Maxim de Boer This one came first.
Benjamin Burkhardt
Yeah, a Nissan V8, in a Nissan Cedric ;)

not sure what it is but I LOVE this car!
It has 240 hp. Sadly this Y34 was the last Cedric. I understand the new revival of Nissan after 1999. But sadly Toyota kept most of their old nameplates. It wouldn´t hurt to name the Fuga Cedric or Gloria.

I dont really like Nissans, but look at that gauge cluster.

Japan's 300c
Nabil Kei waaaaaaaay better than a shity 300c
for some reason the 300c looks a bit stupid compared to the regular y30 , i have 2 y30's actually 3 one is a wagon
Why do foreigners have a special liking for Japanese cars?
its called nostalgy. today we love human horizon hiphi x and avatr 011, yesterday we loved toyota caldina and nissan gloria. 20 years changed the world!
Mystery black box in the passengers side footwell.
never heard of a cedric what the O_O
Needs 20'' wheels and air suspension.
tavi921 this needs to stay stock.
+Camhin1 Cedrics look lame stock if you ask me
I like how these cars have unassuming names so they don't sound scary to the typical old farts that buy them.
3:50 female grampas lol. grandmas

Drift sedan build!

I look forward to hearing from you about this car
