This is a big step for humanoid robots in the warehouse industry. The big highlight of this news is that this is the first paid for deployment. Not a pilot, not a proof of concept. A multi-year agreement with GXO. While the task it is doing may seem simple or it might be considered to move slow, this is a big vote of confidence that humanoids will have a place in the warehouse in the years to come, in my opinion.
There's already dozens and dozens of companies developing humanoid robots. Combined with AGI and ASI, in 5 years our world is going to be a very strange place indeed.
the entire point of humanoid robots is to replace human labor. if employers can own their labor (it's been done before) corporate profits will have potential to increase exponentially. Augmentation is the "nice" word they are using for replacement.
@@deltaechomusicnh555 there is all sorts of robots that use different systems to operate. But one thing is for sure I bet humanoid robots will eventually become commonplace everywhere in society even in local stores and homes
Ultimately, Tesla believes Optimus Ai humanoid robots will do nearly anything a human can do. It will have approximately the same size, height weight as a person, 125 pounds The robot should be able to operate 20 hrs with self recharging. many have stated Optimus they’ll make good factory workers. Tesla predicted, they will have “over 1,000 to 3000 Optimus robots working at Tesla” in 2025 and a furture outlook to production in the billions like the cars they build in the millions.
"it's fully autonomous, there's no cord behind it" 😂 The fact that it's battery powered(or whatever its power source is) does not mean it's autonomous.
In one side, our government has been flooding the country with people who are willing to work for way much less than regular American workers. On the other side, big corporations are working hard to replace as many American workers with robots as possible and as fast as possible. There's a perfect (economic) storm heading regular Americans' way, folks, and it will be catastrophic... PS. And humankind continues its path to the fulfillment of Revelation 13:15-18 (KJV).
@@jakejoyride I think that's the problem. Majority of people are not smart enough and never will be able to do anything else than simple jobs. I feel there will be a huge split in poor & rich coming because of this.
I cant even get a job. I cant compete with illegals for low end jobs, i cant afford school again, and other skills like IT stuff is pointless because its either outsourced or a low pay entry level job that requires a car. I'm expecting we will see a sharp rise in crime in the years to come.

No way she said it’s hard to find people to do that job…
It is 2030 now and Digit has human like organs and skin
Wait.. I thought we were in 2024?
Organs for say converting oxygen into energy are not needed by robots. They dont need organs.
@@-TheMaskedMan- innocence. I've only heard tales.

Right now the main issue is battery power drain.
Most early cases will be in factories for automation. Likely could have a cable so they are plugged in all the time im their work station

The entire point of any machine is to replace human labor. Also, competition between companies means that profits cannot increase exponentially.
No hazard pay & he won’t call me evil gidget behind my back
So it doesn't even involve AI? They're humans controlling the robots?
It is probably algorithms. you do not need complex AI to do visual recognition and dempth scanning of the environment.
@hyozanhades09 and this is why the Tesla bot is better than this trash.

No, she said it's autonomous.
Robots can be pretty, if designed well.
Where's my AGI??
soon my fellow human
If you believe Ray Kurzweil's predictions, 2029 or sooner lol.
wait for the signal, brothers
Praise the Omnissiah 🙏🏻

Excellent interview Peggy (and Digit!).
When will these humanoid robots have perfectly fluid motion like those in the movie irobot?
I feel like boston dynamics has reached this
It will learn it overtime.
Dr. Noonien Soong created Data in 2330's. Take a DeLorean to the future and bring back Data.
Skynet...
These robots should take complex and dangerous jobs instead 😑
That is a bad look for a CEO. Get a stylist sheesh. 👀

Humans need sleep to recharge their batteries. Is that not the same thing as swapping out batteries?
You should research what the word autonomous means.
"Peggy Johnson" is an anagram for "Spongy Jog Hen". o/
Another expensive Muppet show

you can do more complex work, just learn something new

The goal is to have self-sustaining robots who provide everything we need to survive and flourish and then money won’t even matter.
