After watching video destro warlock seems like the closest to this, but again i don't know if i'm thinking about it correctly.
Shadow Priest out of these also does a bit of firing from standing still. For most part Blizzard wants the classes to be able to move out of punishing mechanics though. Thematically of course Hunter is the only one with actual guns but I know you mean more of play style.
Try destruction warlock! Chaos bolt has a longish cast time but well worth it as it does hit like a truck. Aside from the windows where you summon a demon called an infernal every 2min, (which causes a chance to summon more infernals). During those times you would instant-cast the rein of fire spell over and over as you will generate SO many shards on large pulls, too many to be wasting time on long casts like chaos bolt.

I dont know why people keep saying that this expansion is alt friendly, dont i have to gather renown, go thru the trouble of soulbinds, conduits and farming stuff in thorgast and maw to craft legendaries for every alt? Am I missing some information that makes alt-ing easier? All i know is that there is a catch-up mechanic for renown, but you still have to gather it on alts. Oh and leveling is ultra easy, but. that hasnt been much of a problem for me, personally.
I think it's because while leveling your alts you can start getting resources from level 50 that in the other expansions you would only be able to when you capped. Not sure though
@@Portuguesewowplayer Ah yea, that makes sense. But I dont know if that is enough to make it as alt friendly as some streamers claim. I'm not pointing at Kelani, just the general consensus among streamers
It's because everything farmable has a cap. Renown is the main progression for the covenant, and you can only do a couple quests weekly or some dungons to grain it. There's no titanforging, so grinding m+ to farm upgrades is not a thing either, thorgast runs for stygia are also weekly limited. Farm in the maw is mostly optional and will only be necessary once you start getting BiS gear and you need gem sockets. Conduits and Legendary recipes are a one-time unlock too, so once you're done you're done (and actually that's fun unlocks to get with alts). Basically, aside from gear you can keep an alt up to speed with 2 hours weekly. If you want to keep it mythic raid ready (sockets and stuff) you'll need to a daily half hour to that. Still way better than legion and bfa, where the ap farm (and legendary obtention in the former) made it exremely sub-optimal to play more than one character
@@necrobooder Ah I see. I thought it took way longer to keep it up to speed with main chars. Cause all the systems I see in shadowlands kinda reminded me of the cloak, essence and corruption grinds. Thx for clearing that up
The reason why many of the classes play almost the same is because Bliz is heavily invested in balancing covenants spells for classes and spec so, this video is kinda redundant. It's also redundant because everything on beta changes every 2 days.
Do you think the shadow nerfs significantly impact shadow? It sure looks significant. I was set with the spec but I really want to play a top-tier M+ spec and it looks like shadow could very well be B tier now, below frost and affliction.
All the specs will get nerfed and buffed throughout the expansion. If you're using current damage as a metric you're going to be disappointed. Mage and Warlock are your safest bets because they will always have at least one spec that doesn't suck.
It is funny how scaling works, as you level. I have been leveling a frost mage recently and doing dungeons my best AOE ability have been arcane explosion. On low levels sure but even at like 49.
You're playing your class wrong then. Frost has blizzard, frozen orb, and you have icicle cleave. Plenty of aoe damage, honestly incredible aoe. You just need to adjust your talents and use spells I think you don't know you have.
I literally just finished leveling a frost mage to 50 about two minutes ago. Believe me the class is fine, actually incredible at the moment I til the nerfs. Hopefully they don't hit them too hard.
@@taylon5200 it is not as simple as that in leveling dungeons. FO have long CD and icicle cleave is nice for two targets and not when tank pulls 10 mobs, as they do in leveling dungeons. You toss one FO and pack dies in 4 seconds, then you move to another and only frost true AOE is blizzard, at that point. But yes, class is great. I enjoyed leveling it. I played frost before many times but I have not done deep dive in new changes.
@@cam9144 that's true, if you talent that slot. Also cone of cold, even through it don't hit that hard at all. Also OP blizzard reduces cool down by 2sec on every hit or something like that. So blizzard will allow for a looot more Frozen orb usage.

I wish wow would copy GW2’s elite spec idea. Every expansion there’s a new way to play OR you could play previous specs too from past expansions. Like imagine a spriest could heal like vanilla, or battery like tbc, or use void form like bfa. Or a fire mage could be a legion fire mage, or a wrath style frost fire bolt fire mage. Would be hard to balance but in general if you had a play style you just loved you could always play your favorite.

@@polkhigh_33 it's waaaay better than fire right now. It's single target is better than frost honestly. Frost just has somewhat less single target, and way more aoe, and better cleave. So frost is better all rounder. That single target is nuts though on arcane
@@taylon5200 Well to be fair, this video is about ranking Ranged DPS with their overall performance in PvE, so for the most part raids and keystones. @@sofianchassang4194 Ice lance damage was kind of out of control. Im a frost mage main and it isn't fun to spam it because it does more damage than any other spell by almost double sometimes.
Hello, new to WoW. Is there some kind of, what i would call 'artillary' class? Something that just kind of stands still, may have longer cast channel times, but drops mega damage?
@@thermight3154 got it.
@@jonathanscaramuzzini4884 ^_^, sounds good to me. Thanks
Nice video is there a melee DPS one ?
I was waiting for something new all classes look the same as where before
It usually doesn't, I have no idea after so many expansions people don't realize that the beta tends to last well into retail
Thank you 👍🏼
Nope, I've known my main for over a decade. I'm just curious to see how it stacks up this patch after all the changes.
I don't chase numbers. Some patches are great, some less so, a few times I'm OP then nerfed into the ground... But I always love my main
..... Which is......
I feel the same way about my rogue. I've been maining her since BC and don't plan to stop in SL (I check the ranged videos like this because my mom plays a lock and I want to know if there's anything big to let her know about (like if there's a big change to how they play)
Fire mage is BiS for m+ btw
"Separation Anxiety" . This ability empowers your pets for an extra 10% dmg as a Beast Master Hunter if your pets are more than 10 yards apart. "Beast Master Hunters can now put their pets on multiple targets"
It's more that it's multiple spec unfriendly.. so it's better to just play several characters.
Thx for clearing that up
when you love fire but you are forced to play frost so you roll hunter.
The reason why many of the classes play almost the same is because Bliz is heavily invested in balancing covenants spells for classes and spec so, this video is kinda redundant. It's also redundant because everything on beta changes every 2 days.
the frostmage played was with glacial, pretty sure thats not how he is the strongest in m+ ...
@@taylon5200 don't forget comet storm. All the AoE capability is insane
@@cam9144 that's true, if you talent that slot. Also cone of cold, even through it don't hit that hard at all. Also OP blizzard reduces cool down by 2sec on every hit or something like that. So blizzard will allow for a looot more Frozen orb usage.
i'm thinking about Hunter (Marksman) or Balance-Druid, 'cuz i'd like to have a class that's versatile in solo-lvling or solo-daily-questing and that is fast - given these requirements, who do think fits them the best?
Could I ask, which is the simplest ranged dps class to play currently? Is it destro? I like simpler class rotations
BM hunter hardly requires a keyboard
Beast master hunter is 3 buttons
BM. Cheeze spec...

what race in horde is best for frost mage?
BM in S Tier and Fire in C Tier 😅🤦♂️ Love you Kelani, but a strong disagree on that one. This is how Ranges currently wrap up in M+ on Beta:
S Tier: Fire, Frost, MM
A Tier: Arcane, SP, Aff
B Tier: Dest, Owl, BM
C Tier: Demo, Ele
Thats obv from a a pushers perspective, but it will certainly reflect your experience while pugging lower ones.

lmao MM hunter are insane everywhere BM hunter easiest spec in the game
But the survival hunter!
So do I go hunter or stick with Ret paladin. Coming back for ShL. I quit after getting aotc azshara

What DPS that has less to none mechanic responsibility and mostly focus on DPSing in Raids?
Beast mastery hunter
most braindead spec, like 2 buttons to click and you can do alot of dps while you watch netflix
If you don't want to do mechanics shadow priest, since they bring 0 utility to raid and have no movility. If you don't like priest i'd say shaman or warlock, but these do bring a bit of utility so you might have to do some extra work. Any way you''l have to do some mechanics in all bosses, just with this classes you'll get less of the ones that are not raidwide.
Nice
Thank you
I'm playing shadow and wonder how close balance is to it. balance has two dots to maintain (like pain and VT), basic filler (like mindblast) and 'basic' builder spender with star surge vs devouring plague
Both trash interrupts aswell :'d
Balance is ok but it's a real brain dead rotation. But they do have great party utility.
@SignsOfKelani Blizzard updated all classes on the 9th of november (Yesterday) I think these clases have all changed again.
Shadow did not, Frost got a minor nerf but, not enough to make it fall out of a top tier M+ class.

Dont be fooled choas bolt needs a buff
I wish wow would copy GW2’s elite spec idea. Every expansion there’s a new way to play OR you could play previous specs too from past expansions.
Like imagine a spriest could heal like vanilla, or battery like tbc, or use void form like bfa.
Or a fire mage could be a legion fire mage, or a wrath style frost fire bolt fire mage.
Would be hard to balance but in general if you had a play style you just loved you could always play your favorite.
when you have a million classes and a million specs and a million systems that keep come and go with different expansions that is impossible. and frankly from what you say i doubt its going to be fun, wow has alot of competition built into it and people will choose the best only anyway.
@@dabbie2700 agree, plus it would make PvE and PvP design a nightmare to balance

This. I’ve been working a lot and wanted a quick catch up on the latest changes and synergies. I was not expecting a video titled like this one to say stuff like “so frost mages use frost and slow stuff....”
I like how he disabled the dps meter for Arcane mage only in this video , highlighting how useless they really are LOL
Youre stupid. While arcane is clearly weaker than frost, fire and marksman, its still superior to any other ranged class. Mage is in a ridiculously good spot right now, even after the latest nerfs.
This clearly puts the emphasis on aoe, cleave and prioburst while not so much caring about sustained single target dps. Its not a simcraft patchwerk ranking (those are pretty much pointless). So under those circumstances, clearly: Fire >>>> Frost >>>> Arcane.

Stomp and dual pet need to be baseline and not a talent.
Get rid of barbed shot and bring back serpent sting. Let the cobra/snake talent make that DoT spread.
Make stampede not suck and have it cause every pet ability to proc, slow, bleed, stun, mortal strike. As if it a real bad penalty for being caught in a stampede! The shit is on 3 minute cooldown, it's not like it could be spammed.
Why do we even have arcane shot? Multi shot is weak af and is nearly unusable. Make that proc stomp as well.
