I've got a 1996 yamaha big bear and I'm getting ready to do a winter overhaul of the carburetor, brakes and all basic systems, to keep the beast alive. I use it infrequently and it has wintered buried in snow a few times. Ouch! I am 75 years of age and I want to keep all my basic tools in good order, for my own use or for those who will be stuck with this stuff when I'm gone... hehe.. Thanks for a great, humorous, very easy to understand and intelligently structured overview of exactly what I needed. Wishing you a great day. Continue the good work.
Liked and subscribed. Great video series on these 2 big bears. I have a 2005 Yamaha Kodiak 450 and it runs perfect. Needs nothing. Lol. Just watching out of sheer interest. Thanks for posting just the same.
That was fun to watch to be honest. Very educational. I would be interested in the carb video tutorial. And if i may add, how do you diagnose if it is lean or rich and what is the process of rejetting if needed.
I have the same machine. Brakes were stripped off the front and the rear brake shoes lost the pads. Front wheel bearings are shot. But it runs on spray. The tank was empty so I hope it runs good on fuel. I don’t want to pull the carburetor. Thanks for the video
I have the same four-wheeler. My problem is it will idle but when giving gas in neutral it bogs down really bad and dies. Any ideas? I replaced the carb and cleaned out the gas tank. My only other idea is somewhere a vacuum or some kind of hose is not plugged in, due to when I got the four-wheeler all the hoses was missing from the fuel tank to the carb and all the hoses that came off the carb. Any suggestions would help.
Those Chineseieum carbs are hit or miss. What i normally do is just buy a rebuild kit for the original carb, cost about the same or less than a whole carb and looks better to have the original carb for resell.
Mice seem to not like mint, you can put little mint smelling packets in the airbox to keep them out, but unfortunately you have to change them out often because the smell weakens.
Hi my name is leroy you get can of Seaform put it in gas tank with gas in it it clean carburetor injectors clean jets good stuff it works let me know message me back

Sounds like you need to clean the carb for sure. Sounds like it may be a little rough condition. Thank you for watching.

LIYYOO is the brand name. It was just a cheap carb from Ebay. Thank you for watching.
Great video, I have a 87 Terrapro any general info from your experience would be appreciated.
My dad had a terra pro and the finish mower that went behind it. They are not much fun to work on. Thank you for watching.

I agree with you, most of the time i have bad experiences using the knock off cabruretors.
Do you have a video showing how to snorkel the big bear 400
No I do not. Thanks for watching.
What about some videos on brakes on a Yamaha hours break stone released in the rear
I'll see what I can do. The next one I get a hold of we can cover that. Thank you for watching.
I can't tell if my big bear Yamaha 4 wheeler is a 400 or 350? It's a 2007
I think all the big bears from 2000 to 2012 were 400's. Thank you for watching.

I have heard the mint thing before but have never tried it. This thing was setting out side in the weather where mice just love to get inside.
Mine won’t even rev up all the way it’s like hitting a rev limiter ?
Check the charging system voltage to see if it is overcharging. Otherwise I would need to check it out. Thank you for watching.
What year is the 4 wheeler does anyone know lol
I am not sure but I think it is about a 2004. Thank you for watching.
I have a big bear that will not start the green neutral light will not come for the motor to start . I know that the transmission is in neutral.
Get a wiring diagram and chase it down. Probably neutral switch. Thanks for watching.
Mean fix, great video thanx
Thank you for watching.
Do you have a link to that new carb?
It is just a cheap carb from Ebay. Thank you for watching.
The choke was stuck making it flood out
That would do it. Thank you for watching.
What was it doing when the choke was stuck? Would it crank with the starting fluid?
