Are you a fan of the water? Or partial to land? join the discussion!
I actually love everything about Japan though I've never visited. I'll hopefully be seeing it first-hand with my Son during Christmas and New Years 2025, as long as my health doesn't tank again. We were supposed to go last year but things went south for both my Son and myself. I've been making lifestyle changes that are beneficial to my health and am slowly recovering, getting stronger each passing day. 💪🏼
Definitely partial to land! Not being able to swim will definitely do that to you
Im so excited to get to see japan in the winter time ❤❤❤
Please do another video with Emi!! Her love of the water is so obvious and the vibe with you both, mixed with the beautiful scenery makes this one of my fav videos. ✌️
Bro, give Emi both snack boxes! lol.
Hi Norm, Thank you for the coolest video!!
Hello everyone, this is Emi from Kachidoki Marina. I'm super happy to share my field with all of you. I hope I can introduce Tokyo Port in real!! Waiting for your visit:-)
EMI!!!!! Thank you SOOO Much for helping me with this!!
Only took us what... a YEAR to finally make it happen? hahhaa
Let's get together again soon!!
Always a pleasure to see you in these videos, Emi! Your enthusiasm is as contagious as ever.
That was amazing! Thanks for taking us along too. If you did night tours you'd be busy all year!
sugoi!
There's always something special about watching someone who truly enjoys what they do for work. Loved the positive and friendly vibes & hope to see more from Norm & Emi in the future
Wow, Tokyo from the water at night is just stunning. And Emi's enthusiasm is so contagious - love it!
my face still hurts from smiling so much~
Man, Norm, I love these videos so much. You show so many of the things that don’t get shown elsewhere and that’s appreciated.
Glad I could share this one~
Same! So awesome.
100% agree. So fun to find people to tell about a place and people beyond just what travel guides have to offer. Certainly Tokyo is on my wish list to visit but so are a few 1000 places.
I think one of your greatest skills is the ability to find people with passion; any time you feature someone else on the channel they almost always adore their subject matter and it makes it all the more enjoyable.
I adore how Emi is able to appreciate so many little details. This brings joy to us viewers.
Thank you Emi & Norm!
Emi's waterway excitement and enthusiasm seems totally contagious! She seems like she would be so fun to boat, or do anything with!! Thanks for sharing this beautiful experience with us Mr Norm!! 🙏💙✌️
Emi is a gem for sure!! Thank you so much! 😊
Absolutely stunning... I could spend hours on the water, listening to EMI talk about whatever! She is so vibrant and enthusiastic, it's contagious!
Emi’s enthusiasm has got me excited about Japans waterways! I hope you can collaborate with them more in the future
I love seeing people in their element. The way she looks at things and talks about her passion is contagious
I love Emi’s adoration for the city and bridges and waterways in general. I wish you had time to do a video with her every month 😊
To be able to navigate through a major city like this just feels so surreal, Emi is just so knowledgeable and passionate, a late night tour with Emi and Norm, what more could you ask for?.. except maybe some of those orange kitkats lol
Absolutely loved Emi's energy, hearing people talk about the things they love is always a joy.
I feel like Emi could make anyone enjoy boating in Tokyo. So much excitement and knowledge in one person is contagious!
Man, this was a good one. I appreciate you having someone from Japan showcasing a passion of theirs. It’s really refreshing to see Japan through the eyes of locals in this way. Would love to see more like this.
As a person who isn't a night person, watching nightlife stuff feels like a different world and now watching a tour from a small boat, this looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooo different from everything else.
It's always nice when a person finds a passion in what they do. Others can clearly and visibly see that they will be all smiles even during their job
I feel like Emi is a one in a million sort of person. They just seem to be different from most anyone with their personality, knowledge, and energy.
Definitely a counter culture girl. She doesn't fit any sort of stereotype! Sail out, Queen!
For it "not being a sight seeing place " it sure is beautiful!🤩
Yup. Nothing like watching fireworks from down by the water. Had that pleasure at a 4th of July display in Dubuque. Dad owned a house boat that was docked at the marina on the Mississippi. It was refreshing in the heat, for one. And, a clear, unobstructed view, for another. Sound was amplified in the river valley, too.
The thing I best remembered from that night was the Air Guard doing a show for the city. You could see a stealth fighter flying nape of the earth along the river, but didn't hear a thing until it passed. It was going super sonic.
I am fascinated by waterways that run throughout large cities. I live in a small town in Indiana and we have the Erie Canal and multiple rivers running through it...LOTS to explore! Where there's water there's life. This is one of my favorite videos you've done!
Emi is cool.
You can tell she really loves being out there on the water.
Emi’s vibes are immaculate. Would love to see more of her in your adventures.
That Rainbow Bridge spot is so cool! I love how Emi was all, "It's not a sightseeing spot" and I now want to go and see it. I went to Chicago recently and the architecture tours by boat were The Thing to do and now I wish I had done a Tokyo boat tour. Please do this again! It was beautiful and Emi is such a great teacher. Thanks for sharing!
I am falling in love more and more with Tokyo. Now I know Nihombashi is not just a train station, there is something beautiful to look for.
I can never get enough of Emi's enthusiasm and love for Tokyo's maritime culture.
Wow! The city lights on the water is just stunning! I love Emi's bubbly enthusiasm. Such a warm, friendly person. More adventures together would be great. 😊
Another accomplishment, Norm! Spectacular views all around. It is nice to see Emi in another video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Every time i watch your video i fall in love with Japan over and over, it is amazing your view of Japan is just awesome, thank you.
I miss Tokyo so much. I lived in Japan 10 years and every time I see one of these videos, it's like I'm instantly back home.
This has to be one of the most beautiful videos i have ever seen in youtube…. Ever….. is gorgeous. What a wonderful gift 💝 please keep more of this coming 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
When we get to learn from people who are passionate with their craft, we not only learn their art, we also carry a wonderful legacy of knowledge beyond time and space.
One of my favorite things to take pictures of is the reflection of light on water. Never gets old. 😊
Tokyo has many faces as each area has different vibes but if you see them from a boat on the river, it looks everything is connected. The night colorful lights makes the view more and more beautiful! Love the relaxing cruise that I cannot easily experience. Thank you Norm & Emi!😆✨
I love seeing how excited Emi is about boats dude Emi's so cool !
Never knew Tokyo could be so beautiful from the water, now I wanna have a go :)
And that lighting on that bridge in the end, it is almost as if it was designed that way.
Emi is amazing. It's so great to see someone smile for a change.
I liked all of this, especially the when Emi was describing the people’s light in the building. The randomness of lights on can shape the building.
I would 100% watch a channel of you and Emi doing boat tours.
There is something enthralling about cityscapes at night, each lit window plays out a story we can only but imagine.
Something distant and isolated yet paradoxically gives you a sense of togetherness in the wider world.
Really enjoyed this and thanks to Emi san for being a delightful host n_n
Absolutely love your energy. It's very infectious. I watched a small marathon of your videos last weekend. Always excited for new uploads. Thank you, Norm.
You made my bucket list with this video quite longer 😂👍🏻
Thanks for a different perspective, it was fun to watch.
this video was absolutely mind-blowing, i did not realize just how beautiful Tokyo could be from the water at night--amazing!! Also Emi is amazing, her knowledge and passion is so cool.
The views are beautiful and we can see why you guys love being there! Thank you Emi and Norm! I definetly gonna watch it again.
I don't know if it's you or the way you film, but your videos always feel so cozy and full of happiness. ❤
We gave our friend a subscription to the Sakura Co box for Christmas this year and he has had nothing but praise for the variety in them. It was the perfect gift.
I love how much knowledge and how enthusiastic Emi is about the waterways. It looks so beautiful where you both sailed around, I'd love to visit Japan one day, it's amazing 😍
So relaxing and peaceful. And emi seems like one of those people that just radiate the warmth of sunlight and the peace of the moonlight. Thank you for the escape Norm
The videography in these low light videos is always incredible. You truly have a knack for capturing these “reflectiony” shots the way you do
The waterways videos are one of my favorites on this channel, and i can not stress enough how much i love all the genuine and interesting people Norm is able to introduce us to.
I love cityscapes, especially at night. Thank you so much both for sharing this with us, and with a great soundtrack too!
I am absolutely fascinated by seeing the underside of bridges like this!! So beautiful and mesmerising.
Also yikes to that story at the start! So glad you didn't get arrested 😅
couldnt agree more~
Awesome video!!!!!!!!! your channel is awesome!
Awesome find Norm, love it!!!!
This is by far one of your best videos. I was born in Tokyo, grew up there, but I have NEVER seen Tokyo like this. Thank you very much and please make a part 2.
Always love your waterway and night videos so having them combined into one is so cool!
Emi's so enthusiastic, her passion for boating is very clear! Also, I love the look she gave you at the end, that whole playful "and next time I better get the WHOLE snack box to myself!"
😂
Awesome video as always Nrom. The water ways of Tokyo and so spectacular I never knew that they were this stunning.
The unique views of the architecture you get from only the water is so surreal and beautiful. I love how Tokyo has a lot of their highways and rails above the waterways as to maximize land for buildings and housing. Very genius and innovative, the rest of the world can learn from this urban planning masterpiece. Also all the poles in the water from the bridges and roads adds to the depth of the water ways truly making it feels like a maze. Fantastic video!
Good video thank you for making these
Such a great vid! Emi is so engaging and passionate it’s always great when you have her on.
Love the Tokyo from the waterways videos! Fanatics! You and Emi are excellent captains!
Growing up on Vancouver Island, and Vancouver BC, I have been on the water for more than 40 years. Vancouver from the water at night, is special.
Thank you for making a 3rd video of the Tokyo waterways! love this!
15:05 things like this make me love Japan more and more, one day I'll get there
Norm finds and befriends the sweetest people. 🥹
Always a pleasure to watch a new Tokyo Lens video
Man, they gotta start doing night tours, this is an amazing view!
This really does feel like unseen places. I love the bgm choice as well. It really adds to the feel of the shots.
Such amazing views! This looks like such a magical experience. Emi has so much knowledge. So interesting!
Such a beautiful video~!! Emi is such a wonderful and fun person!! ♡♡♡
I also love driving/traveling at night and getting to see tiny peaks into lit windows and all the different lives people have. Like little decorations and such. Just makes one kind of consciously acknowledge everyone has their own lives and their own things going on. It's always a fun and somewhat calming experience.
You've outdone yourself this video. Really makes me want to go on a tour and see Tokyo from an entirely different perspective. And doing the Tokyo Treat promo from a boat under Nihonbashi...genius.
As Kylo Ren would say, 'MORE!!!"
At 16:53, the smile we see is like sunshine in the dark.
Seriously, Norm, there is something special about you on a boat, talking and taking us on a journey across the water. Please do more when your schedule permits. Thanks.
Stunning views! Loved that 360 view in the non sightseeing area...so great 🌃
yaay emi!!!! everything's so gorgeous! it's one of those simple pleasures to see the night lighting without an astigmatism messing everything up haha great music choices this video, was bopping along
I look forward to these videos. I wake up on Sundays and just smile and watch in amazement. Thank you for showing us.❤
Norm I love your videos. Have to say they not only brighten my day but I get to live vicariously through the film. That full moon shot with the bridge and road was 🤌👌💯%
Hey Norm, I know this is a 6-month old video at the time of my comment, but I just wanted to say that your channel is quite nice. High quality and creative. I could watch it all day.
Great to see somebody passionate about what they do, Enjoying being on the water, enjoying all the boats, keep being cool.
What a cool experience. Always love your unique videos Norm. Emi is so cool and funny. Couldn’t have imagined a better boater to give interesting information and show us beautiful scenery.
18:26 Staving off the armchair nitpickers 😅
I love these videos that show Japan through a rarely seen lens.
My day just got better. ❤
I hope you find as much happiness as you share with us. 🙌🏽
I always love your night walks but seeing Tokyo at night from the water with the reflections of the lights and the moon above was absolutely beautiful. Thanks Norm.❤😊
This was such a cool look at Tokyo through the eyes of a local who has been doing this for so long and loves it so much! Thank you so much!
Just breathtaking. Absolutely stunning views. Thank you for the amazing tour of the Tokyo Bay and waterways.
I can't get over how beautiful Tokyo looks from those waterways. Really getting an itching to go on the waters now!
Another great Norm video - always my favorite way to end the week!👍
You sure DID IT AGAIN (Cheering back here). Not sure why, but these waterway vlogs are so cool to watch! Can't thank you enough!
I am always glad to see your guests in the videos. Emi was a good guide
Always cool to see these different perspectives. This is definitely a viewpoint I wouldn't have expected or thought of, and certainly no less beautiful. Thank you for sharing this!
This is great! Your first video inspired me to follow the waterways on my holiday to Tokyo last week. I started at Kanada Bridge Park and walked to Edobashi Bridge, then I cycled out to Furuishibagawa Water Park. For anyone interested it looks like you can take a rivercruise from Soujuro Pier near Nihonbashi Bridge and see some of the waterways shown in your videos.
Please do a part two, this was beautifully amazing and I would love to see more!!! 🥹🥰
Beautiful scenery. Emi knows ALL the best spots.
These Tokyo waterway videos made me learn about something I'd normally not associate with the city. Definitely going to find a way to take a boat whenever I find my way back there.
The city looks incredible during the night, nice that Tokyo Tower lights are turned off during a full moon, little things like that are what makes Japan so special
I love the people who guest on your videos! I’d love to see Emi again!
I've just got this video playing for my background sound nd I have to say your choice in music for these is just too perfect. An absolute joy as always.
Norm! You meet the coolest people. This is how I want to live my life. Taking time to meet passionate people!
Great video Norm! Loved the views at night!
Absolutely Spectacular , What a Treat. Thanks Norm
Thanks for the video!
I loved every second of this :)
