This is the haircut I've been looking for for years (and no hairdresser has got it right for me yet!) - I've just done it myself (with interesting contortions ..) and it looks brilliant! Best tutorial EVER!!
You did this yourself following this tutorial? I’m thinking of trying that too because I live in china and hairdressers here are more interested in selling hair treatments than actually cutting hair. I had one tell me last week that he couldn’t create volume in my hair unless I relaxed it because my hair is too fine!!
Heather Blair me too! I do it myself as well and when I explain what I want it is looking like no layers at all or I end up choppy layers and they blow it looking like a thick helmet!
I don't know what kind of sorcery this is but this cut resurrected my hair!!!!! I was able to do it on myself. I'm no hair guru just a busy mom who started cutting my own long layered hair years ago. This is AMAZING!! I keep my layers longer but this completely fixed my last botched hair cut with heavy layers and wrong lenths. I couldn't believe my eyes as I kept going it was transforming and have never followed a tutorial so successfully. You have no idea how thankful I am for this video. BRAVA!!! Saving this for life.
I do it myself -on my own hair. I'll be honest - I don't obsess about getting straight line parting in the back. I'll part by feel, parting w/my fingers and double check with a mirror to make sure I'm somewhat close. Also,, I have found due to thickness of my hair (&the fact I'm not a pro) I'm happiest with the cut if I do point cutting on my ends. If ur nervous about it - start with longer layers bc you can always cut more off but you can't "add"/fix if you go too short. Hope that helps
I'm a licensed barber, and I've been using your videos to learn new cuts. I use the cut in this video for my ladies who want something fresh. They all love it and think I'm awesome! Thanks so much, and know that your videos are helping at least one university student who barbers part time to reach her goals!
Ha ha people for a salon I have learned so much from all of these videos No More Salon! Let’s see Every 8 weeks 250.00! 250.00 x 6 = 1500.00! Well I can use it for Botox or whatever! Yah! Thank you eSalon and YOU! I am very grateful!
As an experienced hairstylist, I'm always trying to perfect my haircuts, haircoloring and styling techniques so that includes watching these great videos. Just when I think I know it all, I always seem to learn something. This haircut should be in every hairstylist's tool box, it is one the most requested haircuts and you executed it perfectly!
Oh I love this cut! This is exactly what I just asked a hairdresser for. Sadly I did not get it. I even asked for the angle cut and showed her what I meant. I wish I could find someone with your talent. Very nice work!
My 18 yr old daughter just gave me the most amazing hair cut after learning from your tutorial. I'm extremely happy, thank you so very much! I'm very proud of her as well. :)
My mom just cut my hair following this video. It looks amazing! She's always been great with haircuts, but this video really took it to the next level. I have very thick hair and everything is so much lighter, plus you can also see my balayage better! Thank you so much for this GREAT video!
Indian actress sushmita sen has same hair cut I love this hair cut really I was founding this hair dresser which can cut my hair as same has done in this video let's see where can I get this same best hair cut in which salon. Lovely hair cut
Thank you. Just started college few weeks ago. Tonight was uniform layers. Similar to this without the angled sides . Helps a lot. Keep up the great work
Hi! I am from Romania and I am working in UK as Level 1 Hairdresser and finding your tutorials is like a bless for my journey through this beautiful career. Thank you!
This is an awesome haircut tutorial. I love it. This is the cut I have always been looking for . Only difference is that I have medium length hair. I got frustrated 4 years ago and learned via you tube how to do my own layers at home. Recently I came across your videos and watched a lot of them. Not only you do it with a passion and perfection. I love how you teach with such fun and humor. Really really nice. Thanks for making these free videos.
Thank you Steven. My mom is a hairdresser but is retired, so i show her your layered women haircuts to give her an idea of what i want, she loves your tutorials and my hair turns out awesome! Thank you :)
Salon Guy, Your haircut is absolutely BEAUTIFUL ! Thank you so very much for the tutorial as most hairdressers will not give educational demonstrations. I wish I lived near your salon. I would be a client because not only do you do a FABULOUS haircut but you don't chop all the hair off ! Most hairdressers are scissor happy. I will not go to a salon anymore ! Thanx again. You are great ! God bless you for your selflessness. 💋
Thank you sir you are amazing! No one is like you.I wasted too much money on hair cuts no one does like you.I wish you would here in Sydney, Australia.Well now I learned from you.I do my own hair cut how I actually want.Once again thank you May God bless you.Stay happy and healthy.
Thank you so much, Salonguy! You are brilliant! This is exactly the hair style I have always wanted but sad, none of the hairdressers I had could do this. At 52, I still have very good healthy hair but getting the layered look is still a challenge. The next time I go to a hairdresser, I will show him / her your video and hopefully they can get it right!
thank you so much for this! I just recently got licensed and have been struggling to find an easy way to add layers without them being too choppy or dramatic. I love how it turned out and I love watching your videos to learn new techniques!
Yes. It is a perfect layer cut. I've had my license 31 years. And I've played some hair cutting videos the last couple days. Alot have been pretty damm bad. But yours is the first one I've come across, that is exactly, the tried and true, and solid technique I was shown at Lyles B. C. in 1985. You will have many happy and repeat clients, if you follow this process.
+TheSalonGuy Of course. 😊 One more point I want to make. Everyone wants their client happy and proud of the way they look, when they leave the salon. But the stylist wants to be happy and proud of the work they have done for the day. When you go home for the night, you will be very happy, and very proud after you do work like this. Because you know your work is seamless, and your client rocks their look. So students, practice this cut in beauty college. Get your tips there for it. Because it will come in handy when your in a salon.
I have been Barbra shop cutting 15 years lost all my long hair cutting technique thanks for all your videos watched this video several times and counting
hallelujah! After seeing this video I decided to ask my husband, who is a complete dork, to cut my just shoulder length hair. I was feeling adventurous and felt that if he messed it up I would just cut it all off. Well he watched your video then watched it while cutting my hair and my hair is AMAZING!! I love it! Thanks so much!
Hi Stephen. This tutorial and the one for the perfect bangs (the one where you can sweep it of either side) are my absolute favorites! You are so talented and no nonsense. I use these videos to cut my own hair. Thanks million!!
Just discovered your videos. I have done the three cuts I watched the way you did. I cut how it feels natural and make sure everything lines up so the hair falls beautifully. The ladies I style for (friends and relatives mostly) are always happy; but it's nice to know I'm doing it right! I want to go back to school so bad! I would LOVE to make a career out of it. Can't wait to see more of your work. I want to see it all!
You seriously need to do my hair! I've been to so many hairstylist and asked for this specific look, long-layers with swept bangs and non has done it in my favor! And I'm a really really picky person since I have extremely long, thick, coarse hair. Excellent job!
Omg I love how easy and clearly you explained how to do this haircut ! And the results are amazing 🙏🏻 I’m currently in Cosmetology school and I’ve always loved layered haircuts but now I want to be able to do them your video definitely helped me ❤️
So I just did this haircut on my self and it turned out so good. Way better than when I get it cut. I know he didn't recommend it but I'm glad I did because I am loving it. The back was kind of hard to do but it still turned out amazing
Amazingg... im starting class on the 15 of january as a hairdresser and this video jist gave me more motivation... im in love and will save the video.... just amazingg
You're Welcome! Unfortunately, the stylist around here just don't care about giving quality (focused more on quantity), so I have been cutting my own hair which is why I watch the videos, so Thanks for taking the time to do so! I wish you were closer although, I'm sure I couldn't afford you.. LOL VERY TALENTED GUY : )
Great video! I've been looking for the right haircut for about 10 years now lol. Ill be trying this one out for sure! Thank you so much for sharing!! You have such great videos and are really talented at what you do!
I enjoy watching these videos so much! I thank you and my girls thank you because I'm a mom on a budget who usually cuts my whole families hair. AND THEY LOVE IT WHEN I'M DONE! They are 13 and 15 so there's not much we agree on with style, but they never hate how I've cut their hair :)
You just get better and better at what you do! I love watching your success...you deserve every bit of it. Such a nice guy. I believe you were sent to help people like me and keep us motivated. Your Mum would be soooooo proud, and I am sure she is involved in your success ;) Hope you life is always filled with happiness Stephen!! Thanks for all your hard work now and always.
Oh my gosh, thank you for this video! THIS is the haircut I've been trying to get! None of the hair stylists I've gone to know what I try to show! They just do whatever the hell they want... Thank you SO much.
this is the bomb! I just invested in professional scissors as I don't trust hairdressers. I hope I can do this on myself. fingers crossed! amazing video I loved the outcome! besos from Spain x
I love this haircut!!! I have been to so many stylists and even taken in pictures to show them the haircut I am after and they NEVER get it right. I even love the hair color of this wig. I think I'm going to show the next stylist I go to this video and hopefully they will get it right!!!
Maybe your hair isn't exactly the same as the hair in the video. Perhaps if you found a few that are similar and showed them to your stylist, she could find one she could do... I do this as I have super thick hair and so some styles don't work. When we go through them and she picks one, it comes out right. I usually take about 9 or 10 of them. Good Luck.
Please come to Pittsburgh and teach these stylists how to cut hair, seriously, I rarely see anyone here with a nice haircut! If I go to other cities, I see many nice cuts. They have very basic skills here, but cannot layer heavy fine hair or cut layered bangs properly. They need to go to the next level, and you are IT!
hey Stephen, out of all haircut tutorials on youtube yours are the best! the only thing missing for me is that you dont show the finished haircut long enough :-) I always try to make a screenshot . That would be something I would very appreciate. Greetings from Berlin, Germany :-)
Thank you for sharing this! This is the perfect haircut. I wonder why hairstylist in USA don't know how to do this. I haven't met any hairstylist who can do this as good as you have shown.
Hello Mr. Salon Guy! You are the best hairstylist I have ever seen! Can you recommend anyone in the clearwater florida area who knows how to cut hair like you do? I have had sooo many hairstylists who do their own thing and no one ever shows this kind of talent in their work!!! Pls let me know if you have a recommendation? Thank you very much and keep on filming!!!
Whao! Thank you so much I just tried it on my mannequin and it looks gorgeous I love how you explained it and love how mine turned out, I wish I could post a picture here so that y'all could see! Thank you so much!
This is gorgeous!! I too have been trying to achieve this through multiple hairdressers! Buddy if I had the $$$ I'd fly you to my home to do this! I love love love this!!!!💞💞💞

Same here same issue is like they don't understand me like they look at funny lol
ESalon has changed my life and now this!!! Way to go!
How could anyone give this a thumbs down!😳 Stunning cut! If only I could find a hairdresser to do it....

Did you do it yourself? Was it easy? Or did someone help you
I do it myself -on my own hair. I'll be honest - I don't obsess about getting straight line parting in the back. I'll part by feel, parting w/my fingers and double check with a mirror to make sure I'm somewhat close.
