I think it's sad, that so many women are afraid of a hair cut like this. It's so easy to style and still looks cute when it's unstyled. It can accentuate the face when it's cut right and can vary in length. I think that this is a cut that works for many different hair types and face shapes. One of my favorites.

It really depends. Some of us are stuck on a neat/ polished look. Others its because it can look dated.
For me I cannot have slide cutting/ razor on my wavy hair it does not lay right at all.
For straight haircut would be nice .
Finally! Someone who understands density. My hairs so thick everyone looses their guide, and very intimidated. It's extremely hard to do the cuts yourself but better than getting lost. Thank you and God bless you as well.

Matt I would like to let you know I have learned so much from your educational videos. I have changed the way I cut hair. You truly have a God given talent that exceeds many other hairdressers. You explain every detail! I am so glad I discovered you. As my Dad would say [a barber for 65 years} You are the Best!
My Dad was a barber for that long too(maybe even longer). Started out with a barber chair on the beach in the Phillipines World War II. I digress... your comment captures my exact sentiments... Matt is amazing.

Same problem here. I keep requesting a shag like this, but know one will attempt it.
I had a pixie cut and i'm letting my hair grow out 4 the shag look aswell. Medium length bangs 2 the chin and long layers w/natural highlights. Wore this style when i was quite younger.
I was so mad with my stylist for cutting out the shag my sister in law hairdresser gave me when I went home. she gave me awful long layers, and I keep asking her NOT to do that. I found this tutorial and recut my hair. Someone complemented me on my haircut today. LOL. I now understand what language I need to use with my hairdresser, and will be sending her this tutorial so she understands the angle she needs to cut! Thanks so much for this.

I finally found a stylist that knows her hair.
She gave me a shag. A shag! I love it. My hairs curly on bottom and flat on top.
I've asked other stylist for a shag but they just do whatever.

Me,This is a little shorter then I'm used to but I might try it,I have naturally curly thick hair,down my back,cause I haven't had it cut in awhile,currently I get layers,angled sides & a side bang. Actually looking on here for different ideas. Is this a good cut for me?

I managed to do this hair cut on myself. It was a bit difficult to complete the back but I managed. I also made it about 3inches longer than shown here. Thanks for the video. It was very helpful.

I just used this tutorial to cut my daughters hair. She wanted a shag cut but with the bangs like these. I did this hair cut and then tweaked it a bit. She is 31 and won't let anyone cut her hair but me. Not sure why. I used to cut it way back when she was in the AF but now she wants a rocker hairstyle. It looks absolutely brilliant and she LOVES it. Love the videos and will use them many times I'm sure. I have a friend who is 85 and had heart surgery. I had cut hers before surgery and then 5 weeks after surgery (all during the whole covid). I don't know why people trust me but I love helping out where I can.
@@Bethany081 Thank you. I do get nervous cutting for anyone else but her since she can't complain too much. The videos work really well. I do have to play them while cutting and pause and cut, etc.
