Alot better then two days to get running and new filters plus time
Been idling my C15 about 2 wks nonstop now. Can't afford 2 seize up on me. I'd rather burn $40/50 bucks a day rather than having it towed ($700-$900) plus repairs.I guess if u get lucky, they don't have 2 decompress the engine cause that gelled up 2... I usually have her idle at about 850 rpms or higher depending on how low the temp. dips... Learned that costly mistake 25 yrs ago or so... Keep on trucking bro !😁 Enjoying ur channel

I respect what truck drivers do. I drove on 80 about 11:00 that night from the power plant I work at and it was dicey in my car. I don't even want to think about doing that in a semi!
I'd say that's damn good for a big ol'cat and a few hundred dollars in fuel is better than 3 or 4 days of last wages cause the trucks froze up
Had trucks in the 90s with 3406 Cats would average gallon hour idling. Keep it shiny side up!

Wow Angel dandruff never heard that before with about 20 years of trucking under my belt that's up there with booger sugar that one blew my mind when I first heard it now I got a new one to spread alone you guys be good be safe I live in the Detroit area and I run down to ottoville Ohio twice a day back to Detroit that storm was not fun took me an hour and a half to Bob tell from where I dropped my trailer on the west side by the airport to the east side to the yard Monday night and ended up having to drive in it yesterday morning which was Tuesday morning but once I got my trailer and got on the road and headed to Ohio things got a lot better couldn't do two yesterday I was drained from Monday

Well ( deep subject ) your almost in my neck of the woods; another 300 miles maybe to Youngstown. Its cold, 7 degrees this morning, and Opie acts just like my sheppard. Small roof over side door has to take a whiz, 1 drop of rain puts it on hold for a hour or so; till it quit raining. Be safe

Hang in there, spring is right around the corner.
I wont have a flood here, but it wont be nice when the thaw does come. North of about 53°N the snow is quite heavy, I am North of 55 N, we have 5 ft. Due to get much more before spring. A lot more. We are 900 mile East of the Rockies, and have snow for skiing like they wish they had some years.
Well I hope you have better luck than I did in Texas with my snowstorm, absolutely crippled them and there's power outages so good luck getting fuel. Just a crazy day. I'm glad you were blessed with a cup of cappuccino. Stay safe brother.

@@truckingwithschmidt7120 yes, thank you. The amount of snow and ice in my 5th wheel area, tore off my sensor for my rear axle. Plus broke off a piece of faring around my driver side step....places that don't know how to take care of snow 🤦♂️🤦♂️👍

Wow, Kurt, our snow bro, just like we get in Canada, I know what you mean about the cold or cold is gone now it’s also warm up here this week truckers are very important no matter what anybody says it’s hard to stop and 18 wheeler that quick, and people don’t realize that it’s easy to blame something that large they think it’s easy to stop short I just don’t know so I’m happy that gentleman did that for truckers out there I’ve said many times my dad was a trucker for 40 years even truckers the younger ones are not being taught the proper way to drive, but they are the backbone everywhere in the world be blessed

I heard chicken feet to but then I heard he didn’t have to run the reefer and I was really confused. I guess if it’s -15 out they’d stay cold enough with the reefer off, LOL

Well, you answered a lot of questions concerning the fuel usage from the Facebook discussion. That’s awesome that big engine only used .970 gals/hr. Modern engineering at its finest. Plus taking care of that thing the way you do can’t hurt either! Dayton is about an 1.5 hrs. west from my current home of Lancaster, OH. Welcome to the Buckeye State. Roll em Safe!👍🏻

About 1 gal per hour for a big engine is pretty good. My small car engines -- 4 cyl Ranger & Camry -- use 0.25 to 0.3 gph. 👍🏼🤠

I just came out of that storm, so sick of snow and cold. But I live in Florida and will be home almost a week, highs near 60 but lows near 35. Some days I want to be a cat in the sunshine!!

A well maintained truck should have no issues starting at -20, although the cost of a diesel fired coolant heater is easily justified considering the unnecessary expense of fuel and wear on the engine from excessive idling.
Opie is such a great dog and just like family, pet him for me, if i would have listen to my wife I wouldn’t have hit a dear and tore off the wiring harnace, they have a good sense of care and know us

Well if you loaded at Purina that is normal for them. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. BE SURE TO SCALE OUT. More then one time they have loaded my HEAVY. The last time I was there I made take off 20.000#. They thought it was a triple axle and I had a tag. Talk about pissy! WE went for a good old donnybrook ! I told them to make the load legal or I was going to dump it all in the drive way and street and not look back. They asked me not to come back. LOL
My uncle Jr always loved his Kenworth. Be safe here in Ohio we have plenty of snow. Coming to Dayton your real close to Springfield where I am.

That coffee guy does what i do, Paying it Forward, I sell the hay and silage to feedlots at top dollar plus delivery. With the family farmers they pay a quarter of the cost plus free delivery, just makes me feel good. Safe travels..
