Can't imagine how many trailers that guy has to be able to drop and hook in so many places and they all look like they're in really nice shape be safe my friend 12 inches of snow here on the ground and still snowing
Thank you Kurt for not just being a humble person but also but being honest about the reasons why you have what you have and also protecting your family Stay saft Kurt and Opie but all the long haul truckers and yourselves Your choice of music is great as well
Stay safe out there. We've already got about 4". It's still snowing and they say it may go to 10". Lotsa places & the transit system have shut early so people can get home.
I love how you know what a fuel filter is and how to replace one many truck drivers now days are only steering wheel attendants but your like old school
Your heart & mind are in the right place. Family should always be 1st. Money can always be made somewhere & somehow. But making memories with the family are priceless!
I don’t think any of us have a problem with you carrying a gun. Actually, good on you for carrying a gun. I’m not a trucker, I’m a farmer, although I have driven truck here or there. I carry a gun everywhere. I’ve got a Kimber .45
Your cuisine though by home front indianapolis in. B safe that had another bad accident on 70 the other morning, wrong way 4 wheel driver. Happy trails Opie and you.
Yep. All GSD watch their owners walk away. Mine does it when the wife takes off. I must have missed seeing the Sig. Story time. I went through a licence check. It was conducted by the state police. In this state you are required to notify the officer that you are carrying and give the permit and ID to the officer. He asked me where it was and I told him. He said "Good. Carry every where you go." Shocked me to hear this coming from a sworn law enforcement officer. Now I grew up around them. Never been afraid of them but I do respect them. The one thing I have learned: "Metal in motion is on a mission." Prayers for your dad. Give Opie a belly rub and stay safe.Good night all and God bless each of you.
Always a pleasure to watch your video's !!! I would never tell you what to do ....... never ever , but I learned that a Napa filter is not as small a micron filter size , I know I know it's not OEM filters , but I always seemed that I had to change fuel filters two to three times in the winter even running additive . When I switched to Napa filters never had another problem 783,000 miles later on a cat motor ! Safe travels to you and love the music !
7"- 10" of snow expected up here in the Kenosha/ Racine areas of Southeastern WI. The roads will be a mess tomorrow, that's a guarantee for sure. Good luck on your return trip home. Lil' Bud will be waiting to hear the sound of your truck pulling up to the house.
It's called home sick I get home sick myself but sometimes you get sick of home far as weapons I carry my kimber 1911 10mm in the truck and I have my glock 43x concealed on my side I only touch 5 states now works out great
That was hilarious. As soon as I saw the screwdriver come out, I knew what was going down 😆. I like the look of both the chrome baby moon caps, or the painted hubs to match the paint on first class old school style. I think I've watched enough video's of you, little bud has nothing to worry about you being home in time. As you say ' be safe and until the next time' .
Schmidt thank you for what you do for us here in the United states you and every truck driver deserves alot credit for what you do for us every truck driver you guy work long hours and drive down interstates and the highway's and again thank you so much schmidt for everything
On the other hand, the view from inside the cab at night showing the impressive display of dash lighting along with the outdoor lights while trucking is quite enjoyable, bringing back nice memories. Awesome seeing you passing thru Champaign, Illinois, my older stomping grounds. Lived there during my years of trucking with Mayflower. There and Urbana, Illinois. BTW Kurt, if you are interested and enjoy reading about other people's lives I have written my memoirs and they are available to you via my Dropbox, just let me know. Back in the day RUclips was not available to me, so I had to remember it all and write it down. My memoirs do include in the neighborhood of some 900 photos.
Myself I like the caps on the truck but it seems like to me with the caps on the hub will leak a little oil but if it does I check to see where it leaking. I check mine if not every day every other day, I haven't had any problems with it lately but tomorrow may be another story but it doesn't take but a second or two to check. I'm really proud that I found you on here not long ago, because I really enjoy watching. Thank you be careful God Bless you and the FAMILY, And I hope that your Dad is doing good.
Leave the hubcaps off. Mine always made it leak grease from the plug and sling on the wheels. They make a chrome cover now with the plug in it that looks pretty good without the hub cap, and you can always see the oil level.
Opie thought your fingers were fries !! Looks like Opie saying you get the top bunk Dad!! Hope all goes well with getting Home for little bud Birthday!! Be safe out there Brother Peace
I drive 21days and then have 7 off. Takes time to get used to it but its not for everyone. I'm glad we don't need to carry a gun in Australia. Keep truckin from Down Under.
Kurt been watching your Vlog for a while but never commented. You have a nice channel and I enjoy it a lot. Especially your comments about cold weather. Cold weather and trucking just don't mix too well. You never mention the use of wheel chocks in cold weather. One time in Wichita, KS a really bad cold front came through and froze everything, froze the brake pads to the drum on the trailer. I drug the trailer until they popped loose and busted one of the brake drums on the trailer. The company tried to make me pay for it, but never did. They did insist on wheel chocks, so the brakes could be released at night during cold weather. Then one time I was loading down in a hole, about three stories below ground level, and a cold front blew in. Fuel filters gelled up couldn't make enough power to get up the ramp. Wasn't far from home and the company sent a guy out there to replace the fuel filters. Sure felt sorry for him, but stayed in the truck. Love that truck sound. Really cool.
Hello kurt. This is mike rink. We met in center point Sunday afternoon. It was very nice to visit with you. One old school trucker to another, if you ever need help reach out to me in case we are in the same area. I will be running to Indiana at least for a couple months
Well you listed two different things there IMO. You have type's of drivers, then you have distance of driving. TYPES Distance - Length Day drivers= home every night. Local=125mi's Short haul=home every weekend. Regional=500mi's OTR=Out for two weeks or more. Long haul=500mi's+ Then the Super Truckers or Lifers.= The truck is there home!!!! Death Rider, The Pusher of the Death Trip, Trk# 666
Having protection with you and compiling to each state’s rules is fine with me!!! Appreciate your honesty on firearm!!!! Opie the ⭐️ is growing like the channel!! Kurt may the good lord bless you brother and keep you safe out there so you can get back home to the family and your boys birthday !!! 🙏😎✌️
Hello and greetings from Oxnard California my friend 🙋♂️ once again I really enjoyed watching your video this one had me laughing you have a great sense of humor and Opie is the best safe travels home God Bless You out there on the road and ALL the other TRUCK DRIVERS 🙏🤝👍
Stay safe out there down play to much in the snow, I'm going to be playing in rain, sleet, n snow tomorrow in pa, they are saying any where from 1inch to 3 inch that kinds nothing for us milk haulers 🙂 i enjoy your videos. safe travels
I live in a "iffy" area. We could not bring our protection with us but locked safely in personal vehicle. I always felt safer once I had mine in pocket returning home odd hours!
The reason for the caps is because you don't want all the water and dirt and grime to get in there plus the truck looks a lot better with them on it ok from your friend Jim c
Read a few of the comments that the hub caps made the plug in the wheel cover leak, been running these things for 48 yrs and never heard that one,or seen it.No problem to pop the cap and check fluid in hub once a week or two.Just saying,Hope you beat the storm old boy,Prayers for your Dad.I',m gone.
I use to run local but may have to go back to otr soon really don’t want too. Good to know info I was always scared to carry gun with me but I would still have some sort of protection on me .
Love the tunes you play during the driving segments. Just noticed the sign of the Czech and Slovak Museum as you were passing thru Cedar Rapids. When your camera is placed far enough forward in the cab you eliminate the visor and it makes a so much better view of the forward because the visor isn't cutting off the overhead portions. Makes it easier to see where you are and what is ahead. Thanks for the good video and thanks for your awesome positive attitude. I so enjoy how you treat Opie as a member of the family. Is Illinois still 55 mph for trucks?
I’ve always considered a home every weekend or most weekends as “regional”, and 2 or 3 weeks out or more as OTR. Months at a time, long haul. But that’s just my opinion, and it really doesn’t count for much. I usually run 2 1/2 to 3 weeks out, then home 4 to 5 days. Love your videos.
Kurt, I was only commenting about your pistol just as an observation, it doesn't bother me any way, actually I wished that we in Canadastan had the right to do so too! Many a time I haven't a clue to what to comment on when I want to comment, so please don't take it wrong as I am a fan of You, Opie, your Family and your sweet sounding truck!
Oh no, I read it like you meant. No all tge comments I recieved were all positive. It just caught me off gaurd because I completely missed it in the video lol.
Love how honest you are with your videos it’s a rare quality now
VERY RARE!!!
Kurt is a rare man, honest to the bone and genuine.
That's the ONLY way it should be!!!
@@chazeornom8013 Sad to say it isn't.
Thank you
I'm definitely a "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have " kinda guy as well
My Black Lab just watched you feed Opie a cheeseburger. Man did I get a dirty look from my hound as he does not get that.
Lol
Doggers need a treat also lol
0:03 you know you're starting to get famous when there's a copycat at every fuel island :)
Lol
Can't imagine how many trailers that guy has to be able to drop and hook in so many places and they all look like they're in really nice shape be safe my friend 12 inches of snow here on the ground and still snowing
I just love how Opie saw another German Shepard in the truck right across from you.
I'm praying for you to have a safe trip home to your family, and for your dad's recovery.
Best wishes, stay safe.
Thank you
Thank you Kurt for not just being a humble person but also but being honest about the reasons why you have what you have and also protecting your family
Stay saft Kurt and Opie but all the long haul truckers and yourselves
Your choice of music is great as well
Kurt, I find myself checking your mirrors for overtaking traffic.
When I saw the Sig, I wondered how you handled Illinois. You went right by my house, Coralville, IA. Hope they finish the 80/380 interchange soon.
Hey from Coralville!
Lol 😅 seems all German Shepherds are the same, this was like a mirror image from a distance.
Happy early Birthday Little Bud!!! And since I asked you to put on the screen were you were, Thank you!!! Drive safe Thank you
You're riding with a star! Our mutt gets more attention than we would have ever imagined! Be safe out there!
Ditto
Stay safe out there. We've already got about 4". It's still snowing and they say it may go to 10". Lotsa places & the transit system have shut early so people can get home.
I love how you know what a fuel filter is and how to replace one many truck drivers now days are only steering wheel attendants but your like old school
Use to drive a truck with a "baby Cat" engine...got really good at draining water separators and changing fuel filters.
Your heart & mind are in the right place. Family should always be 1st. Money can always be made somewhere & somehow. But making memories with the family are priceless!
That collar looks so good on him. I smile every time I see him.
You should smile, those are collars are amazing. Can't tgank you enough
I don’t think any of us have a problem with you carrying a gun. Actually, good on you for carrying a gun. I’m not a trucker, I’m a farmer, although I have driven truck here or there. I carry a gun everywhere. I’ve got a Kimber .45
Amazing as always thanks God bless you
Hell or HIgh Water!!! Thanks for the comments on your firearm. Hope it all works out and sleep well and be SAFE!!!
Hi kurt, Opie is kind of shy. Hope you make it home safe and on time
Hope you got home in time. That storm is a duzy!
Your cuisine though by home front indianapolis in. B safe that had another bad accident on 70 the other morning, wrong way 4 wheel driver. Happy trails Opie and you.
The hubcap resourcefulness had me rolling. Well played Schmidt, well played.
Lol
Yep. All GSD watch their owners walk away. Mine does it when the wife takes off.

Give Opie a belly rub and stay safe.Good night all and God bless each of you.
Its the same requirements in iowa.
You are a good man. Thanks for showing the good side of trucking.
Thank you
Beautiful Dog right there!!!
Great video!!! Stay safe out there Driver & continue with this awesome content!!!
Drive safe out there and I hope your dad is doing better 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Love your honesty, you have a gun for your house and first class is your home when your out.
During the winter I usually stay out 4 to 6 weeks at a time. Spring and summer I’m home almost every night. I love OTR so it don’t bother me.
your friend had a triaxle box trailer at the truck stop. Opie enjoys seeing the road from the front seat.
Yup
I am an older lady who use to drive, your truck always sounds so good!
No questions here, protect yours brother, I have a FOID Card here in Illinois (central) and a Marine combat engineer… stay safe you and opie
Thank you for displaying your locations. Always interested in where drivers happen to be.

I saw it and didn't say anything. Liked the tunes on this one. Stay safe out there.
It's called home sick I get home sick myself but sometimes you get sick of home far as weapons I carry my kimber 1911 10mm in the truck and I have my glock 43x concealed on my side I only touch 5 states now works out great
Love the various camera angles.
That was hilarious. As soon as I saw the screwdriver come out, I knew what was going down 😆. I like the look of both the chrome baby moon caps, or the painted hubs to match the paint on first class old school style.

Much love from another part of PA (Chambersburg)

Thanks for the idea of putting pictures on the sun visor. Covers the mirror up so I don’t get scared
Lol
With the hubs on the steers you can't check the oil so I think it's better With out the wheel covers
Stay safe out there down play to much in the snow, I'm going to be playing in rain, sleet, n snow tomorrow in pa, they are saying any where from 1inch to 3 inch that kinds nothing for us milk haulers 🙂 i enjoy your videos. safe travels
Thanks and have fun
I live in a "iffy" area. We could not bring our protection with us but locked safely in personal vehicle. I always felt safer once I had mine in pocket returning home odd hours!
Ran moons on the steering axle on 5 different trucks over 47 yrs and never had problem in all that time.
Good to hear
The reason for the caps is because you don't want all the water and dirt and grime to get in there plus the truck looks a lot better with them on it ok from your friend Jim c
I'm stuck just East of Des Moines. Snowing 🌨️! I literally just delivered in Louisville. Stay safe brotha!

Is Illinois still 55 mph for trucks?
No they are normal speed. Indiana is at 65 for trucks
Hope you made it home safely, I seen how bad it was on I80
I’ve always considered a home every weekend or most weekends as “regional”, and 2 or 3 weeks out or more as OTR. Months at a time, long haul. But that’s just my opinion, and it really doesn’t count for much. I usually run 2 1/2 to 3 weeks out, then home 4 to 5 days. Love your videos.

Yup
I think that Opie knows the gear pattern...time for him to do some shifting..
I see Opie was able to make the bed before the end of the video. He is well trained.
Lol
BTW. Greetings from Louisville Kentucky
