Hi Emily I love your artstyle so much. I feel like every page should be put in the bigger canvas for display of appreciations in museum. i love how playful you are in terms in colors and turned out very well. I'm not that good in colors that's why my works are always in charcoal and graphite or in black and whites values. I hope you inspire alot more people by your work.
I honestly watched the whole thing and didn’t even realize 30 mins flew by. I loved your candor and style!
That's so great to hear! Thank you Tori! 💛

OOOhHHhhhhHHHHHHhhhHHh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pencil crayon! I finally get it!
Haha yeah!! Canadians are weird, I don't know why we call them that 😅
I looove your work! You inspired me to do portraits again. If you're in Vancouver, I would like to meetup lol. I also love that you have art from Grand Budapest! I absolutely adore the cinematography there, I'm excited for Asteroid City!
Thank you so much! 💛 Unfortunately, I am not in Vancouver, I'd love to visit some day though! I am also so excited for Asteroid City 😄 Thank you for such a sweet comment!!
acrylic gouache is actually just acrylic. and gouache is like watercolor, it needs to soak into the paper to stick. but putting acrylic down first prevents that from happening. that's why the two don't mix well. I don't know who in marketing chose the name "acrylic gouache" for the product but it's misleading.
your paintings are lovely
You’re so cute. Love your style
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful :) How do you prevent transfer to opposing pages?
I actually don't do anything! 😄 I haven't had any issues yet. I do sometimes use parchment paper for messier mediums like oil pastel though! 💛
Superb work E 💎
Thank you! Your work is fantastic! :)

A fellow loopsnoot fan!! Welcome!! 💛
This Sketchbook ist very nice
Thank you 😊
Recently found your channel. Your art and art skills are amazing! In this video you mentioned a type of pencil that I can't quite figure out the name of. They're the colored sketches but usually all one color. You pronounced them something like Kohler-Ace??? I'm sorry, is it possible to get the name of those pencils? Thank you!
Ah, found it. Col-erase. Thanks either way and all the best!
very beautiful
Thank you so much 😊
How do you get your prevent your pages from smudging?
To be honest, I don't do anything! I used to use spray fixative, but I haven't in years because I don't like the smell. I will use a sheet of parchment paper between oil pastel pages though! 😊
❤❤❤❤❤🎉
Can thé moleskin sketchbook handle gouach and oil paints and also compared to the leuchtteurm sketchbook which ose is better ? (Only respond if you’ve tried both please)
The moleskin can handle both gouache and oil (I just prime the paper with gesso before painting with oils)
Can you do a video tutorial on how you draw dogs and cats?
I have a couple of videos on my channel where I draw dogs and cats. They aren't tutorials, but you can follow along and hopefully learn a thing or two! Hopefully I can make more videos on the subject in the future ❤️
You’re very pretty, calm, and your art is amazing! Also I love your room and aesthetic, new sub! I also create art on my channel.
Aw thank you so much! Welcome!!💗
What colored pencil are you using? Your sketchbook is amazing❤
Thank you so much ❤️ in this sketchbook it was a mix of Faber-Castell goldfabers and prismacolor premiers! I recently got a set of Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils that I absolutely adore though!
bro
Aw thank you ❤️ I'm honestly so used to critiquing my art because of art school. It doesn't make me sad, just more encouraged to create more art so that I can learn and grow! 😊
💐💐💐💐💐💐🔥🔥

Did you go to ubc? Your art is familiar
I didn't! I went to ocad university :-)
@emhuesart oh cool!! I just watched all of your videos, you're amazing and so is your art! Thanks so much for sharing with us! I'm from Hamilton, today I bused to above Ground Art store because you recommended it and it was amazing! The one next to ocad!
@@maaiinkay Thank you so much!! ❤ The Above Ground next to ocad might be my favourite place on this planet haha :') I'm so glad you were able to visit!
Lol I was wondering what pencil crayons are. I was thinking like "cool another new supplies that I should buy" Says this American viewer with a few sets of Prismacolor color pencils
haha! I have NO idea why we call them pencil crayons in Canada- they are nothing like crayons! Thanks so much for watching! :-) and sorry for the confusion lol!
@@emhuesart thank you for uploading! Your art is amazing! It was a very inspirational sketchbook tour
At the beginning of the video you said you could see growth and then you beat up almost every drawing. It made me sad. Your art is beautiful, please try to have more confidence.
That’s what some artist do..
i know this was 7 months ago so if you changed your mind about this comment im sorry. but i feel like it's not about "having confidence". almost no artist can look at their art without a somewhat critical perspective. it's nice that she can maintain the transparency she has with her audience by saying how she feels about her art. its not sad, it just shows that even if someone's work is amazing they can still recognise flaws and spaces for improvement.
i think its good to be realistic and transparent with your audience who are probably also going on an ary journey who may feel like their art isn't good either. it shows that even someone who's very skilled sometimes isn't completely satisfied with their work. it's like imagine if a model who is very pretty is more open about her insecurities, wouldn't that make you feel more comfortable with having insecurities yourself?
most artists have an idea of what they want a drawing to look like in their head and its only natural to be disappointed if the outcome isn't the way you wanted. I don't think she needs confidence, on the contrary i think it takes confidence to admit you aren't happy with how something looks and pointing it out for the internet to see and judge..
i can understand where you're coming from but the way you phrased this comment isn't too nice.
This is my first go at gouache 🙄she says….my first go meanwhile 💩💩💩mud pure mud, no I know you use oils and know the techniques needed to achieve the light and shadow for the style I love watching you for …my attempt at a joke I know your to sweet to ever be anything other than humble and thank you Emily for that. You of all people should be so proud of the hours you have studied your love of art inspires me every single episode I watch.
I wanna know where the pink sketchbook is from
It's a Royal Talens Art Creation sketchbook 💛 thanks so much for watching!
I love your gouache paintings. They are all so rich in colour and the subjects are so interesting. I’d like to know the difference between using gouache vs acrylic. The tea kettle is so pretty. Please do another video of your next sketch books. Excited to see the 100 head book. Keep up the good work and great videos.
Thank you so much! Gouache is more matte in appearance than acrylic. Designer gouache can be reactivated with water, but acryla gouache cannot. 😊 Hope that helps!
You said that you wanted to possibly draw authors eventually... I feel like I must share this story with you. During covid 19, I found myself incarcerated in county jail for ten months which is another story for another time. Anyways, we were locked in 2 person cells for 23 hours per day and we could get one book per week, not of our choosing. Those books were the only thing that gave me any kind of escape in there, until I ordered a pad of blank paper and some pencils from the commissary store. This is when I taught myself to draw portraits. All of them were the pictures of the authors on the back covers. Drawing these authors became such an escape for me that I eventually found myself trading ramen Noodles for author photos. My favorite author to draw is Stephen King. I would love to see you do a portrait of him! I'm much better at portrait drawing now, but I still have every one of those drawings and they are surprisingly very special to me lol. Thank you for the great videos... They are helping me a lot!
That Amanda Seyfried photo is from Season 3 of Twin Peaks :")
Ah yes!! It totally is! Thank you so much, that has been bugging me haha 💛
Loved the tour and very excited for the 100 heads sketchbook!
Thank you!! 💛
Man I absolutely love your Paul and Ringo sketches! I myself am an artist and had a huge fascination with the Beatles and drew them a lot. (I still love the Beatles btw)
Thanks so much :-) I love the Beatles too! Ringo and Paul just have such fantastic faces for sketching, there's something about their features that make them so fun to draw haha
Hello fellow Beatles obsessed artists. I like to draw all of them, but personally I find George in his later Beatles year to be the most interesting to draw because of his cheekbones. I actually saw Paul in concert last summer, and then I saw Ringo in the fall.
Loved This. thank you for showing x
Thank you for watching! I have a 2023 sketchbook tour on my channel as well, if you're interested 🩷
@@emhuesart oooo I'll be watching that soon x
This was very inspirational, thank you for sharing, I admire the freedom you have in this sketchbook. I find I'm so picky and want everything so polished that it has stunted my growth, this is a great example of how to get through more by being less perfect. There is a wonderful beauty in those imperfect sketches, that I'm going to try to loosen up. The more you do the more you learn, and I need to remember to realise it's only a sketchbook and it's OK to experiment and have work that isn't a complete picture, in fact it's beneficial. Your video helped remind me of this, and by the way even the ones that you didn't like as much to me were amazing. Thanks again can't wait to see more.
I'm so glad this inspired you ❤️ I have had the same feelings surrounding sketchbooks in the past. But the more I learned to let go, the more my work improved! The sketchbook is THE place we can go to loosen up, have fun, and experiment! If it doesn't work out, who cares! Hopefully 2023 can be a year of growth and overcoming our fears of imperfection. :-) Thanks for watching!
@@emhuesart thank you for your kind words of encouragement, I very much appreciate it. ❤️
Im canadian as well! Im considering posting my art but i havent filmed anything quite yet. I need to set up my ring light first cause it has a holder for my phone to record stuff

Wow, your work is so beautiful and has so much depth! Thank you for sharing your artwork with us! 🎉
Thank you so much for leaving such a lovely comment! 🩷✨
Ouh! Super beautiful! I love your style!
Thank you so much!!
oh my, you're using moleskine? I've been sketching in mine, but the pages seem so flimsy--i'm scared to use gouache or any sort of paint. i'm a new customer.. is it supposed to have that texture/flimsiness?
Hmm is your Moleskine from their art collection? It should have a blue label if it is. The paper is 165gsm which is pretty good for a sketchbook! You might have a blank page notebook? Which would be fine for sketches but probably wouldn't handle wet medias too well 👀❤️ I hope this helps!
@@emhuesart I do believe so! though I'm sure I must have accidentally bought a notebook I did not intend.
I wonder what your recommendations would be for those starting out (supply & technique wise). emily, you have such a calm countenance, that I would love to hear what you have learned in your time painting.
I have that same image of Amanda Seyfried from Jennifer’s Body in my portraits inspo folder in Pinterest!! The pallet and her eyes 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
wonderful sketchbook ^_^
Thanks so much! ❤️
how often do you sketch?? i really struggle with the consistency. i love your work!
I have been sketching nearly daily recently - but that wasn't always the case! I was sketching much less frequently at the start of this sketchbook. I find that the more you sketch, the more you want to sketch 😊 it's sorta become a relaxing daily practice for me!
great happy sketch of the nun😀
love the Leia sketch!
Thank you so much 😀
You’re extremely talented. Amazing.😊 new sub.
Thank you so much!! So happy to have you here 😊❤️
Hello, great video, what brand of acrylic gouache do you use? Thanks and great vidieo
Hi there, thanks so much! I use Holbein acryla gouache right now. I haven't tried any other acrylic gouache brands so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it is nice to work with! :)
I wonder if the chair painting you referenced was painted by Vincent Van Gogh? 🤷🏼
Ah unfortunately it wasn't, though it was most likely inspired by that painting!! I'm trying to do a better job at keeping track of references these days! 😅 Thanks for watching Renée! 💛
This is such an amazing sketch book tour😇 thank you!!! New subscriber...
Welcome!! Thank you so much 🥰 💓
