Hi Darlene, I'm a 100% beginner to art and your videos are a big help thank you. I feel the longer videos are more helpful to people at my level of experience, due to the amount of information/tips you are able to relay back to us. Short videos = less information! Just my opinion. Keep up the good work and thank you.

I like the longer ones, especially where you detail perspectives and measurements. I have some real horror stories of brilliant body parts out of scale with other features, or facing different directions! The longer video’s where you talk about dimensions and light sources are VERY VERY helpful

Either long or short … the fact that you show each and every step and explain why it is done that way. I also like that you tell what type of product you are using. Very informative.❤

Long format is great, for absolute beginners, like me, who need more detailed guidance, especially for portraits, the most difficult thing to do.
I would like to see her diversify her art, with animals, landscape, etc.

@@RapidFireArt I'd be keen to see the full face one. I like the longer videos personally, if I am sitting down to sketch I will usually have apportioned plenty of time to it and it is nice to do this to the video as it feels like I am being guided through it in real time, like having a personal tutor almost (it is handy to have the time stamps too incase I need to go back or skip forward). You have taught me a lot about light and shading already in a short period of time and watching your channel has reignited my interest in drawing again, so for this I am sincerely grateful.

I personally don't mind either long or short, I guess it depends on the object your trying to draw such as the lips, I found that video very helpful. Introduction:
Art has always been a powerful medium for self-expression, storytelling, and cultural reflection. Within the vast realm of artistic possibilities, one unexpected yet intriguing subject that has captured the imagination of many is the iconic character Shrek. Drawing Shrek goes beyond mere artistic practice; it is a celebration of creativity, humor, and the cultural impact that this beloved ogre has had on society. In this essay, we will explore why drawing Shrek is not just an artistic endeavor but a tribute to a character that has become a symbol of unconventional beauty, acceptance, and humor.
    Body:
    The Unconventional Beauty of Shrek:
Shrek challenges traditional notions of beauty, providing artists with an opportunity to explore and appreciate unconventional aesthetics.
Through the act of drawing Shrek, artists can emphasize the character's unique features, fostering a sense of beauty in diversity.
    Cultural Impact and Enduring Popularity:
Shrek has become a cultural phenomenon, transcending its animated origins to become a symbol of internet culture and memes.
Drawing Shrek is a way to engage with and contribute to this cultural dialogue, tapping into the character's enduring popularity and relevance.
Shrek as a Symbol of Acceptance:
Shrek's storyline promotes acceptance and challenges stereotypes, making him a symbol of embracing individuality.
Drawing Shrek becomes a means of conveying messages of acceptance and celebrating differences, encouraging artists to explore themes of inclusivity in their work.
    Humor and Satire in Shrek:
Shrek's witty and satirical humor appeals to a wide audience, making the character a source of joy and laughter.
Drawing Shrek allows artists to infuse their work with humor, providing a lighthearted escape from the seriousness of everyday life.
    Artistic Freedom and Expression:
Shrek's distinct design and personality provide artists with a unique canvas for creative expression.
Drawing Shrek allows artists to experiment with different styles, techniques, and interpretations, fostering a sense of artistic freedom.
    Nostalgia and Childhood Memories:
Shrek holds a special place in the hearts of many who grew up watching the films.
Drawing Shrek can evoke feelings of nostalgia, serving as a way for artists to reconnect with their childhood and share those sentiments with others.
    Community and Collaboration:
Shrek's popularity has led to the formation of a vibrant online community of artists and fans.
Drawing Shrek becomes a communal activity, allowing artists to connect with like-minded individuals, share their work, and participate in collaborative projects.
Shrek as a Political and Social Commentary:
Shrek's narrative contains subtle political and social commentary, touching on themes such as power, prejudice, and the consequences of superficial judgment.
Drawing Shrek can serve as a medium for artists to explore and comment on these deeper societal issues, using the character as a metaphor for broader discussions.
    Conclusion:
In conclusion, drawing Shrek is not just a whimsical or humorous pursuit; it is a celebration of creativity, cultural impact, and the enduring appeal of a character that has left an indelible mark on popular consciousness. Shrek's unconventional beauty, cultural relevance, and message of acceptance make him a compelling subject for artistic exploration. As artists pick up their pens and tablets to draw Shrek, they contribute to a broader artistic conversation that embraces diversity, challenges societal norms, and celebrates the joyous spirit of creativity. So, the next time you find yourself contemplating what to draw, consider the ogre with a heart of gold - Shrek - and let your imagination run wild in the fantastical world he inhabits.

You are a wonderful artist and teacher. I've recently resumed drawing after a long long time and I find your tutorials invaluable for all from beginners to long ago sketchers.
Keep up the good work, it's fabulous and I'd be interested to know if any of your originals are for sale.
Thank you for the guidance and inspiration. x
