I love to watch you woodworkers from across the great pond. So very talented. My condolences on the Queen. Long live the King. Blessings on our Scotts Cousins!
It's nice that there are people out there who haven't caught the throwaway bug and are passing their beautiful furniture on to the next generation. And following generations who accept and appreciate these offers. Of course, they need a good restorer who makes this transfer possible - but there is the Cottack Workshop with its talented, friendly boss and his responsible employees! Thanks for letting us watch!
Lovely to see Badger get one over on that pesky poser Toffee 👍 Another great video, makes me look at older furniture through completely different eyes 👍.
Oh, I hope Badger's not trying to muscle in on Toffee's job of QC inspector?😁 Another lovely, sympathetic restoration Bruce that I'm sure will now see out many more generations. Well done. And that was me last time and I'll say it again - it is great that you show your errors as well as your successes (I did spot it by the way😁). Thanks for the upload.👍
Toffee made only a brief appearance as over the summer she's been too busy running round in the garden ...she hates the rain though, so I am sure she will be back to full curious QC duties as we move into Autumn! Glad you enjoyed the upload.
Another great job . However, I think you are wrong with the date. Near the markers name it is stamped “C C” . This is what was called the “Wartime Utility Mark” which was marked on items approved for production and sale during WW 2. All items were of good quality but were simplified, utilitarian and made using materials not critical for the war effort.
Thanks Bryan! It certainly does look like the double pacman logo! This would then bring the formica back into date. I will ask the owner a bit more about timings. I very much appreciate you following up on this. It would also explain the mixture of wood quality.
Many thanks for your reply. As a wartime baby I’m familiar with that mark. Although the furniture was simplified and rather utilitarian it was good quality and built to last. It was still made by the same pre-war craftsmen who had great pride in their workmanship. Very much like you today !

James - thank you so much, very much appreciated.

I've also edited the video title to reflect your comment - thanks
