That's a nice little writing slope, smaller than any that I've seen in the past. You did a fine job breathing new life back into it and Toffee seems to agree. Thanks for the video.

My Father had one but Alzheimer's took its toll and the slope was destroyed, he was clearing out his 'rubbish', he tore £10 notes up, the old style not the new plastic ones, as her had heard on the radio there were take tenners, what the radio was saying was fake tenors (not Pavarotti,. Domingo and Carreras), but he thought it meant money, I managed to get the pieces changed at the bank (£180) poor Dad. That slope just brought back so many happier memories of my Dad with it, thank you. Thanks for a good job.

Thanks June my mother had dementia and I appreciate some of what you describe, having these physical positive reminders is wonderful

My grandfather went through something similar. We just barely saved the family photos from the trash.

I like your attention to detail.
I don’t like the loud bright green felt combined with the subdued blue-green leather.
I think it would have been nicer with a veneer inside lid, which is possibly what was there originally?

    I recently restored my slope..same leather4craft ...
I decided to fit the whole piece across the hinge ..yes when i close it leaves a crease in the leather so hoping it is very durable and does not split the leather..ive given it a cleqn with leather soap hoping it sofens it up a little...

That's a great video, thanks very much. Everything ordered. If you could, could you please say what material you used for the backing hinge. Fanatastic. Thanks.

Many thanks. I use baize or felt recovered from an old snooker table.
If you are ordering new then try for a higher wool content as there are a lot of synthetics on the market. Enjoy!

Why did you go with green felt and blue leather? The restoration is good but not going with the same colour/tone for the felt and leather is disappointing.

I agree! The client wanted to keep the blue leather as a like for like replacement so I ordered it …and then come the repair I didn’t have blue felt. I think blue on blue would for sure look better. Thanks for watching and commenting.
