Industrial going back to its roots. Fucking brilliant.
Ikr
You don't know the half of it. ruclips.net/video/x5MuKTkukIw/видео.html
I really dig the fact that some musicians/groups are going for crazy, experimental sounds despite backlash from people who don't understand the music. Artists like Author & Punisher, Xasthur/Nocturnal Poisoning, Death Grips, and Botanist are really opening up new avenues for some crazy shit.
Gingerscantbepirates No idea if the other guy ever got to read your comment, but I just wanted to thank you for introducing me to Zeal & Ardor. Great stuff.
That full of hell and the body collab was also mental
@GingersCan'tBePirates Thanks for recommeding Zeal & Ardor. Totally buying the albums on Bandcamp.
Also check out Machine Girl
And why not SCARLXRD
Fancy. Doom metal meets Industrial metal. Almost as if someone threw a chunky ball of biotechnology at a Doom metal band.
yup.
virtually my first thought word-for-word after discovering this guy through 'Noisey'.
Now just slip the word Drone somewhere in that sentence.
This could've been the Doom soundtrack perfectly. Or better yet, a collab between Tristan and Mick Gordon :O
So, it would be REALLY into summoning demons this dimension...
Add Justin Broadrick and It’s melting faces.
Just saw this guy live last night. Jesus christ.
Rae Celta Did you like it?
Ikr?!?! Dudes fn a genius, mind melting stuff!!! 🧠🤘🏼
Saw him open up for 3TEETH last year, had no clue who he was. About 10 seconds into his first song I was already freaking out going “oh this is fuckin COOL!!!”
Swear to God, watching him slam that joystick 🕹 thing back and forth over and over is one of the most satisfying things you’ll ever see
Sounds much closer to godflesh then nin..... don't know what y'all are talkin about. This dude has got his own thing goin on for sure though!
100%
Shit, I've never experienced a more fucked up and earraping symbiosis of Doom and Industrial.
This is one of those tunes that you REALLY need good speakers to listen to. When I listen to this on my laptop, or TV, all that comes out is the sound of the drums and noise bursts. But playing on my actual stereo, you can actually hear that really awesome sweeping synthesizer bass line that really gives the tune it's motion. On anything other than good speakers, this song comes out missing so many of it's awesome elements. I've found this often the case when listening to noise music. You absolutely NEED a good stereo or else you don't hear half of the stuff that's in there, and the high end just washes everything out.
Same goes for his latest album, and most of his work actually. Definitely a project for audiophiles
This is what Skillix thought he was doing. He wasn’t....
who?
Scrilloz
haha should have more likes
Skrillex was trying to make dubstep, not industrial.
@@dwellerinblack7816 not the point of what they said. You are just dumb
This is better than NIN IMO.
This guy right here is the new Throbbing Gristle/Carberet Voltaire/SKinny Puppy/NIN!
Also try the band Chrysalide. They are extremely unnerving and brutal aside from their completely broken English.
MagnitudePerson You just mentioned Throbbing Gristle, so you win. My friend and me, while in highschool we were on a three day binder, of, well, questionable substances and no sleep, When we found a promotional copy of one of their albums on vinyl. It was hidden in a small false wall compartment, in this old trailer we were in. There were hand written notes on the cover, saying "don't listen to", and shit like that scribbled all over it... So being the crazy goth/metal/punks, (don't really like labels, but it gives a sense of our personalities) we were, and being young and stupid, we decided to smoke and listen to it. Fuck it, what could happen. That shit causes auditory hallucinations, and it makes you feel like the time in Evil Dead, when Ash and co. Found the recordings of the guy reading the Nekrinomicon. There we were, in the middle of nowhere, in this rundown old Mobil home, wasted, and fucked up, betond belief. I shit you not, it caused me to feel like I seeing and feeiling things, that are on par with paranormal activity ( the possibly real deal, not the movies). The trailer was shaking, it seemed like the lights started to flicker, and the small record player speakers, through out sound like a fucking movie theater. Shadows began to dance on the wall, as if they were taunting us with their evil presence, ready to strike like a Cobra, or punce like a hungry lion. Now, I do realize, that I was under the influence, and under the influence, I can attribute the experience to aformentioned "questionable substances". However, as we were losing our shit, I remember looking up after hearing a hard alarming screetch of a needle raking quickly across the vinyl, and seeing my friend, in one quick motion, grab, and throw the record at the wall. We watched it shatter, and never really brought it up again. I finally found that album again on CD, and bought it. It didnt sound the same, and it was too clear. Sorry for the long speel here, but you stirred memories, of one of the craziest stories from my life... All because you uttered those strange words, "Throbbing Gristle"
that sounds like it was a pretty interesting experience. hope you're not feeling any residual effects.
This guy is so underrated
He is amazing ... also a nice fella to have a chat with. But his shows are next level.
It's cool that Tool took him on tour last winter to open for them though. He started finally getting the recognition he deserves but then the Covid-19 bullshit happened. No more tours for now.
I don't know but it reminds me a little about Aphex Twin but on the other hand, I really liked this song
Oddly ... I can see that! That is a strange, yet almost fair comparison.
donkeywent :3
The "Come to Daddy" video comes to mine.
Dude I love Aphex twin and never thought of the comparison but it makes so much sense
Good song. I'm glad to hear other artists paying homage to Justin Broadrick. In particular Godflesh. Great tune!
So that's how you make a Terrorbird. Good to know.
Can't stop listening/watching this. Great stuff very original and inventive. Like godflesh accept completely done with machines. Awesome. Finally something to kill that dubstep nonsense
"Eye sore"
"Hi Ford"
"I soar"
"I'm bored"
"Hi Jord"
"Buy gourd"
"My lord"
"Guy nord"
GOLANG
"I, BLORG"
The not-voice? I was torn between "I support" and "I abort"
Amazing. Totally brings me back to the old industrial videos of the 90's... and they were all shot in warehouses of course.
About fucking time dispute being late to this part by a few years, setting new fresh and original. FYI Tristan Shone please keep doing what you are doing and don't fold under mainstream pressure, this kicks so much ass no one can top this. You sir have just created a new type of music and corner of the market.
I just realized that the opening to this sounds a lot like the song "Friends are Evil" by Jesu
Yes, it really does
Brilliant and therapeutic while stuck in traffic. thanks npr for opening old guy's ears once again and great interview yesterday as well.
About 5,000 of these views are mine. As a long time Industrial fan, (originating from KMFDM) it's awesome to see the genre continue to expand.
This is the sound of literal insanity in the best way possible.....
The intro gave me serious pyramid head silent hill vibes. Loved it!
I love it. Best sounding bass I've heard in a long time. Beautifully black atmosphere. I cranked it up to maximum volume and I feel great. Thank you for sharing.
I'm embarrassed that I just discovered this. Very interesting music. Pretty freaking sweet.
This song at 0.75 speed could be it's own genre ☠
brutal epicness! \m/
I'm so diggin' this, hard!
TIL (after Googling to find the vid...again) that a "terror bird" was a prehistoric animal that was huge, ate horses and fought wolves. Look it up!
I like it. I like it a lot. Reminds me of Tyrant Of Death
I feel like this is probably what the soundtrack to hell is like.
I thought that was Rob Crow! It is! Nice
this is brutal
OMG the terror bird yells and everybody dies
Saw A&P a couple nights ago in Cleveland. And paid 80 fkn dollars for two T-shirt’s.
Worth every penny. Fantastic performance. Wishing you success and happiness Tristan.
This is both Lovecraftian and futuristic at the same time, and I fucking love it
Oh hell yeah Rob Crow!!!
Reminds me of a monster from the book Ghost Ocean by S.M. Peters. Except that bird creature was able to talk people into cutting off their own limbs and organs as offering to it.
So pumped that Phil is going robe making an album with these guys, should be interesting
Focking DOPE, SICK AS FOCK GOODNESS!!!! ARGHHHH!!!!!
I like this guy best when hes in his industral dub mode, reminds me of old godflesh and scorn
Scorn !
seeing him play this live changed my life. this video is epic.
Just discovered Author & Punisher for myself. This is incredible. If this isn't metal, then I don't know what is. …Save your genre specific comments for someone else.
If you want more music like this it's called death industrial. Sorry I had to :)
Swagsuke Uchiha I thought it was Industrial Doom.
Amps for Buddha This isn't metal at all, since it doesn't use typical metal instruments, but I certainly see how it'd please the fans of metal, since it's got the same heavy-as-shit feeling to it. I think Swagsuke Uchiha is right, this is something I would call death industrial.
Jared Arbizu It is metal.
Ricardo P Pinheiro death industrial. Look it up. Ever heard of Throbbing Gristle? Big influence on the genre.
Totally sick. Love it!
Holy hell that was the most insane thing I have heard in a long time!
Just love how Raw this is.
Gives me that old-school Godflesh feel!
LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH
I thought of Aphex Twin. This is good, hope it gets at it, impact video!
Fuck dude. Someone really needs to hire this guy to make music for s video game. That would be wicked.
Nice beat. amazing production. good to take a break from death metal sometimes
Would have been nice to hear this one live. A&P did an improvised set in ABQ, NM this month. Glad I got to see him.
Helps to know he has engineering background, hence his arsenal of instruments.
This is Bloody Awesome
Hey Awesome! I saw the same lineup! The whole show kicked much ass!
Saw him open for 3Teeth at Baltimore Sound Stage before the 'rona hit and it just blew my mind. So good.
Love the noise texture.
This is like Wolfenstein..
This is by far the best description for this music.
Like no fucking joke. Spot on.
That was an amazing mastering job, whoever did it. God damn, that was loud as fuck but clear.
Aphex Twin meets Godflesh and Mick Gordon. Fucking stunning.
Well, crikey.... 😍
freaking awesome!
He should do a collab with Survival Research Laboratories
Beginning sounds like JESU.
One of the best concerts I’ve been too
This is fucking beautiful.
Awesome!
That was the worst 4:36 minutes I've spent in a long time... Pablo... I had high hopes for you :-)
The music is great. the video, comical.
è bellissimo!
Sounds like the OST to the old Alien vs Predator games. Either way electronic black metal is a rare find these days.
This shit is heavy!
Very cool.
Hands down my favorite A&P song.
GAINED THE EDGE THAT nin LOST. win!
This guy is phenomenal
Saw this guy last night. It was pretty amazing!
During my dark times, after the strip club and shit, hammered as fuck drunk and driving, I would blare the fuck out of this song while driving. Those times are all done and over. Creepy how it brings those memories back when I hear it
THATS ROB CROW!!!
Brutal
Whoa! Wicked.
- Heidi
Obsessed with this tune. Fucking badass!
love it
Terrorbird indeed!!!
Lovely.
I need more music like this
This sounds like something out of doom. I fuck with this, time to listen to this forever
A bit noisy, but satisfyingly aggressive and dark, akin to a factory whose death machines turn out solely blood-soaked rubble. Or, perhaps it's the sound of that thing one of the members of Cannibal Corpse is named for.... what's it called? Oh yeah, a corpsegrinder.
I can picture these sounds emanating from the factories depicted in Robocop or at the beginning of Burton's original Batman (1988)... or perhaps they're the dreary echoes born from the groaning, industrial death-wails of the uber-bleak Battersea Power Station (chosen as the cover art on Pink Floyd's best and most underrated album)
www.newsweek.com/building-pink-floyds-animals-album-cover-battersea-power-plant-will-be-268223
Joey Stuka absolutely love 'animals'
the perfect sound ive been trying to make for years
holy shit that is funny LOL!!!
Begin like friends are evil of Jesu
why are you the first person to say this? fuckin 6 years into this and not one goddamn comment i have seen brings this up.
I agree with Roland D(eshain)? Turn it up. This is a beauty.
just saw this live last night, what a fucking experience.
So good
That’s pretty brutal
Music: 😈🏭👹☠️👾💀
Lyrics: arrr rrr quack arrr rrr quack arrr rrr quack 😂😂😂
Urgot Login Screen
Instructions unclear.
Bird looks like Demogorgon.
This stuff is fucking awesome! Seen it live with warbeast and Philip H. Anselmo and the illegals and was blown away....
cool saw its LP for 7 euro i a shop in berlin. hope i get it
Playing it so loud that your parents call the cops!
I followed this same recipe for making a terrorbird. Kinda weird though, afterward no one spewed or exploded. Kinda disappointed.
