flowey just puts you in a ring of bullets way at the beginning of the game, why can’t any other monster just do that until you get bored?
I've been asking myself that ever since I've seen the first geocide run. I mean, sure you can kill Undyne and Sans separately, but what about together? A Fangame with Undyne, Sans, and maybe Mettaton working together would be epic (And incredibly hard.) Too bad I have no coding skills nor confidence.

To be honest, i like this fangame a lot because the creator understands that sans only knows a quarter of the fourth wall, and can't randomly remember everything. but flowey on the other hand. He has determination, he breaks the fourth wall, he's one of the most reoccuring characters, he warns everyone. And sans just feels like he knows what flowey was talking about.
Only like 12 minutes in but I'm already absolutely in love with this version of papyrus's theme

Papyrus and undyne are basically main character's friend (side characters) and sans is the main character, Papyrus and Undyne are just buying time, and sans literally beat the **beep** out of the "villain"

-Manipulates Undyne into being friends with you
-Has enough control over his own attacks to make them NOT kill you when you're at 1 HP, something that TORIEL can't do in her fight
-Has studiously studying "Advanced Puzzle Construction for Critical Minds"
-Created the X-and-O puzzles in Snowdin
-Painted an entire rock formation to resemble an extremely convincing vast landscape (source: Phone Calls)
-is NOT innocent and very much knows what death is, as displayed by his dialogue with and about Undyne in Waterfall
Not to mention Undyne flat-out states that Papyrus is extremely strong, but just doesn't want to kill.

The reason why asgore destroys the mercy button (in the original game) is because he believes he doesn't deserve mercy after everything he has done

Fun fact: according to undyne, papyrus is actually pretty strong, he just has too much pity of the human to actually hurt or kill him.
I like how they didn't make it so that Sans see the previous resets but they made it so Flowey is the only monster to see the resets and made Sans only see glimpse of the resets

This somewhat felt like that Dorkly Final Fantasy skit where the heroes are like: why do we take turns instead of rushing the boss as a group? In this case, you have a gauntlet to go through on Papyrus and Undyne, and you are weaker when you reach Sans in terms of LV and HP compared to a normal genocide run.

Know this came out half a year ago but I still admire the video. Respect for this is probably one of the hardest fangames out there. The first two battles are 2-3 minutes of intense and fast gameplay where you only get to be hit 5-6 times I think before you die. The last battle is intense and fast paced too but is also a fanon sans fight so of course it's OP as heck.
I think the hardest fangame I was able to beat was Devilovania and even that was close and took lots of practice. Appreciate all you do and your DETERMINATION

Something I've noticed, Flowey must have warned the monsters to not give you a turn, because both papyrus and Undyne don't stop attacking until they're completely exhausted, because they now know they'll get killed with one blow each.
Papyrus also ignores i-frames but any hits when at 4 health kill you here.
Actually, papyrus attacks have I frames, wich can be seen if you look at Merg's first attempt from 8:53 because he is constantly failing at dodging but some attacks don't hurt him.
Why would they be killed with one blow each, though? They have no reason to think that because it isn’t supposed to happen. Well, Papyrus is able to be killed in one hit, but that could be remedied simply by him not sparing us.
@@n0dash18 undyne dies in one hit when she jumps in front of monster kid, and she never spared us. So it's possible that papyrus could die in one hit because he never really has his guard up against us

True, but to be fair, Undyne basically body blocked our attack. So I’m thinking that that’s at least partially why the attack did so much damage. Because she made it hit her. This is supported by the fact that when you spare Monster Kid and continue on to fight Undyne normally, she doesn’t die in one hit despite Frisk being at the exact same strength.
Also, her Undying form definitely didn’t die in one hit in any timeline. Therefore, they shouldn’t think that it would die in one hit here. Especially since they must know about the Undying form since Undyne’s dialogue implied that she was counting on being struck down and transforming.
Also, Papyrus could simply not let his guard down, which he probably isn’t doing if he’s fighting Frisk at all.

That Merg name Reference is slept on as hell, that caught me off guard because he literally did his intro, and then when entering his name, the exact same lines came up IN-GAME. You know you've made an impact when you start seeing references to yourself in the games you play because you're known for playing these fangames, and it all comes full circle. Giving these Fangames the attention they deserve, this reference is well-deserved.

Well, if you really have to listen to it, it's good that it's an absolute banger.
It feels odd that Undyne has one large attack and dies in one hit, especially in what's supposed to be a greater form than her canon Genocide form which is a true battle. I do like that Sans appears to have been accepted into the royal guard, and he's actually attacking you in your menus (in the games, he just has bones that nick you if you're dumb) and force you to act fast.
It’s possible that after so many genocide routes that you have grown powerful beyond reason

One of the best fangames I've seen! The visuals, the gameplay, the difficulty, the pacing, the music, even the dialogue is all really high quality - and of course, always good commentary by you, Merg. Interested to see if this dev team ever makes anything else

I really wish that the mod makers hadn’t crowded the areas with their OCs and had instead made some sort of secret area with them all. Don’t get me wrong, the mod is fantastic, it’s just strange to see the town even more populated than a normal genocide run, and with characters we don’t even know. Sort of kills immersion…?
