Something I think is a core of what Toby Fox was asking: agape love. Willing to sacrifice oneself for their friends. In Undertale _we_ grow close to the characters, _we_ are asked to sacrifice our desire to be with them for their happy ending.
We’re given the choice to RESET and be with them longer, but that would take away _their_ happy ending (though we could always redo a Pacifist as long as we avoid a Genocide).
We’re asked: “will you sacrifice your happiness for your friends’?”
Are we ok with getting a perfect ending for everyone… except ourselves?

I love how in Undertale comics they make Sans this caring and king skeleton well-versed in themes of friendship and true love. Im not saying Sans ISNT like this, but his emotions are definitely exaggerated in these comics, however I wouldnt change anything about this comic.

I was watching some tumblr shorts from Bettina Lee and thought "wonder what's popular on this channel" that led me to a nostalgia trip the end of which is here . Undertale was such a big part of my childhood so i feel strangly comfortable right now .

This video is almost solely responsible for getting me into Undertale and Deltarune, or at least the AUs. Several months later, despite seeing Underverse, Inverted Fate, and so many others, it honestly still might be my favorite.
Also, the fact one of the strongest beings in the fandom multiverse actually said "I am out of memes." is hilarious.

Wow, I absolutely love this. Putting your own spin on Undertale's timeline jumps and giving the main character traits and motivations that are like what plenty of undertale fans would do if they were in that situation, this is s complete masterpiece amd I'm glad i found this at a time where I'm going through a lot of stress. Great job on this!

Maybe a continuation where they manage to connect to the first timeline somehow only to see it's become it's own special AU or something? Its such a good "AU", if you could call it that.
But what happens at the end? Does PLAYER get the true happy ending into the future or are they resetting forever?

Gaster just dishes out literal *plot armor* to the timelines, that’s it. He doesn’t argue with player, he doesn’t [FIGHT] or [ACT], he just protect all the timelines and stuff, he earns my respect.
Sooo... kinda like the Watcher from the Marvel Comics but more lenient on interfering with the timelines.

I swear, it's been 5 years since and i haven't been able to crack open that ending man.
The time loop causes by PLAYER and black-red clothes asriel make me go crazy, I think the author should write an actual ending at some point in the future
The second part is the first, and it consists of the memories that Sans sees while he is inside the player's soul. In the second part, the player tells Sans that he did not try to break the barrier because he is afraid of being expelled, as happens when he revives a dead character. This is why, in the first part, he tried to break the barrier for the first time at the beginning, and also this is why we do not see him trying to revive any character who died. What we see in the second part are the player's memories that occurred to lead to the first part. That's why there is no lope. It is clear that the player agreed with Gaster to be given that timeline because of the scenes at the end, and Asriel's reset does not matter because it does not affect a timeline other than his own. I hope my explanation is understandable

How I interpreted the story
There are 2 main world lines
Part 2 (26:02 - 40:21) happens first, towards the end of part 2, I’ll call that world line A.
Player wants to create 1 last perfect ending, with frisk and chara. Player breaks the barrier with Sans, then leaves, asking Sans to say sorry to asriel. Sans does that, then asriel resets. (44:44 - 47:55)
Player then travels to world line B, part 1 (0:00 - 26:02). Makes the “perfect ending” (with frisk and chara). Even though player says that this would be the last one, they decide to “reset” again, to jump to another world line. Sans stops them from “resetting”. Player shows Sans their past (part 2). Sans convinces player to fight to stay in this world line, by confronting gaster. (40:21 - 44:43)
World line A’s ending is with black red Asriel (50:49 - 51:10), where asriel lives in a resetting loop with a remnant copy of player. That is the sin of (51:10 - 51:17)
World line B’s ending is with green white asriel. Player is allowed their future in world line B after confronting gaster, and so they just live there.
From the way Sans and Player act in Part 2, with Sans giving Player the idea of breaking the Barrier right from the get-go or stealing the RESET from the Player, the most of the second half being chronologically the first makes the most sense in terms of the story's narrative.
Honestly I did not understand that when I first watched this a few years back, so it's actually refreshing to finally understand this.
