I like how chara isn't a demon in this, like how she's usually portrayed, because she's not even like that in the game! she's just a goofy kid who's stuck with the player, and they help you go down your path, no matter how evil it is. plus they're the narrator.
It isn't an she, they/them pronouns please ^^
Even in the backstory of the actual game Chara was a pretty evil person in life, and here she's constantly trying to get Bacon/Frisk to kill people. It's less she's not a demon and more she can't actually do anything because this is a pacifist run.

It’s surprising how many people don’t get the ‘it’s a living’ thing. He’s saying being Undyne’s training dummy is ‘a living’, or a career😅
In the game, mad dummy doesn’t have a unique “voice” and many of us may have thought that that interaction was narration rather than dialogue because of that. I think at least some of us get it now lol
