It says Fanon has gone too far in this fandom and many people gaslit themselves into thinking the offical characters are not even remotely like what they actually are canonically.
Most displayed by Sans and Chara being absurdly out of character in a very large percent of fancontent, and basically every single OG UT character aside from Undyne and MTT suffering to a sizable but lesser degree commonly in fanon.
Also people missing the game's messages to the point the wider audience they think Monsters are incapable of wrongdoing or flaws as people and the message is "violence is bad".
When it's a game where every single notable character except Papyrus has notable flaws as people and the message is a metacommentary on Players relationship to their favourite games they exaust all options in.

anyways, I think it's more that people will do analysis videos without knowing their shit as much as they should. people will mistake Sans for being able to remember resets because of offhand comments he makes that could be interpreted as implying that, when really it's just a demonstration of him being an incredibly observant guy

7 years and the animation still feels like it was made yesterday
The characterization of Sans is so spot on I had to come back to this gem. Papyrus is fucking HYSTERICAL but the video starting with Sans looking at the photo then back at Papyrus until he asks “do you ship us Sans?” And Sans’ face IMMEDIATELY dropping is actually fucking killing me. Like he literally just doesn’t know what to make of this. Sans & Papyrus sounded perfect and I love Sans’ slightly passive aggressive behind-Papyrus’-back jabs lmaoooo
