I am loving your reactions to our beloved band. Every song from this amazing Wacken 2013 concert is incredible... as are many of their live concert performances since. My lovely wife, Carol, and I got to travel from Phoenix to see them live at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco on May 18, 2022 and the show was breathtaking. Floor is bar far the greatest storyteller ever. Her breath and voice techniques are beyond anyone else ever lived. And here on the Wacken 2013 concert, she was only doing old songs not written to her incredible techniques - but she certainly made the songs her own !! From 2015 and up - the songs are written to her....... Imagine being a songwriter and suddenly realize that you have absolutely no limitations in your writing - Floor will blow you away no matter what. That's what happened 10 years ago. And a big welcome to the Nightwish Universe from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰

You’ve found the best band, like ever. Throughout your journey, don’t forget to listen to the Tarja era which is as fabulous. Highly recommended are Sleeping Sun, The Siren and Phantom of the Opera. They are awesome live. Tarja and Floor are just perfect in what they do.
With Tarja Era, I highly recommend sticking to studio version (apart from Phantom of the Opera) OR get the community to tell which live versions to listen to from Tarja. The live production was not important to Nightwish during her era, and them entertaining the audience was much more important. Only during Anette's era did Tuomas have an inspiration to change the live performances into shows (as we know them today). Tarja also used dramatically inferior, but far safer live singing techniques in most live performances after the first years of touring, when she realized that metal band + her singing style on same stage was dangerous to her voice, since she couldn't hear her own instrument properly Not only that, there are (at least used to be) Tarja's performances that have been sped up/slowed down due to incompatible framerate conversion and some have different audio and live video track, mixed in by some fans from different performances, making it sometimes look like she is jumping around like a crazy person to a different song or even lip-syncing, since the audio track is from a different video The two official playlist on YT I can recommend are the "From Wishes to Eternity" and "End of an Era" DVD releases both available at the official *Nightwish* channel
@@Songfugel You are right. I don't dislike the studio albums from the time Tarja was the front vocalist, but I'm just not a fan of the live perfomances. With Floor it's almost the opposite. She's so alive on the live performances that I almost prefer the live performances over the studio albums. I say almost because they are equally great when listening to them, but with the live performances you also see and feel her stage presence and that just adds that extra spice.
Hello Paulie. I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here. She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter and.....? ( Freja & ...? ) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she cool singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. I found this great group at late 90's. I have all their studio albums since 1996 including this Wacken 2013 DVD set. I am so glad that many people find this so great metal band. I listen to NW every day. Their music is unique, instantly know when hear few seconds from the start..okay this is Nightwish. They have certain signature in their music, thank you Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards) our metal Mozart.

Don't feel bad about not knowing all the names and facts yet. Membership of the Nightwish army is now inescapable for you. Once Floor and Nightwish have penetrated your brain there is no way back. This is, of course an Annette track from imaginaerum, in my view the best Nightwish album. You have such a great time ahead as you venture further into Nightwish, including the original work of Tarja and Annette. This is actually the second time I have heard storytime in the last half hour. Had just watched/listened to Andra Ariadna’s cover, when up pops your reaction. Still, like GLS and Poet, can’t have too much storytime. No doubt you have already been told about Poet and the Pendulum. Congratulations on your research on these tracks, but do not do Poet until you have covered quite a few Nightwish tracks, and you have learned the back story. And, when you do, and however butch and manly you are, have tissues to hand.

Perhaps Everdream or Romanticide next. 😊 Seeing as you like music which takes you on a journey: You should also check out a prog group called Aryeon and the song "The Day That The World Breaks Down." Also, a Canadian band called Unleash The Archers and their song Awakening. Both do concept albums with a storyline. They are exceptional. Another to consider is Sabaton who do metal songs about past war history. A few of their great songs: "Bismark" The full animated version of "Night Witches" "Christmas Truce" "1916"
Great video dude, it will come with time. The 2013 Wakken concert is my favorite lineup. Since then the drummer Tuca and Marko (Bass and Vocals) left for health reasons. (Separate times) Floor is the 3rd vocalist, and the best in my opinion. Tarja(1st) and Anette (2nd) are very talented vocalist, its just hard to compare to Floor Jansen. You should see Floor Jansen with Hank Porte on Best zangers doing the Phantom of the opera. Hank has played the Phantom many times in his career and you can see how the perform together being masters of their craft. It's great watching your videos, keep them coming 👍

I would highly recommend Floors solo performance of "Ava Maria" on her personal RUclips channel. Funny you should say it sounds like a movie soundtrack, because it is a movie soundtrack. Nightwish made a movie called Imaginarium in 2012 & the album Imaginarium is the soundtrack for their soundtrack for the movie. The singer for Imaginarium is Annette. Tarja is the original singer. She is magnificent with a voice like a Siren. Annette is cute like a Pixie. She is a world-class singer & is an equal to pop singers like Taylor Swift & Lady Gaga. Floor is the current singer & she is majestic. Floor sounds & looks like a Valkyrie pretending to be human.

@@PaulieReacts Yes that's it. The film is a commissioned work that was implemented by professionals on average. Neither a masterpiece nor a catastrophe. There are more songs in the concert and the film helps explain the meaning. Be careful with 'Song of myself'. At Wacken they only played the song itself. A collection of quotes follows on the album. A RUclipsr edited it and uploaded it as an extended version. Film and music don't always go well together because the music is too independent. But that's the only way the album works and that was more important to Tuomas.

Pekka, I understand what you mean, if you see the previous songs he reacted to, but i also watched those songs ( except Angelina, i don't like her much, sorry Angelina fans), but then i came across Nightwish and I was hooked instantly!
I think you have a better reaction to watch if you paus a few times , say something about a part and rewind 5 sec to get in the flow again. At the end you tend to forget things and are not as much fun as in the moment. And as tempting as it is , never close your eyes in a Live Nightwish song (you always miss stuff) Anyways ,please more....:)

Both do concept albums with a storyline. They are exceptional.

Since then the drummer Tuca and Marko (Bass and Vocals) left for health reasons. (Separate times)
Floor is the 3rd vocalist, and the best in my opinion. Tarja(1st) and Anette (2nd) are very talented vocalist, its just hard to compare to Floor Jansen.
You should see Floor Jansen with Hank Porte on Best zangers doing the Phantom of the opera. Hank has played the Phantom many times in his career and you can see how the perform together being masters of their craft.

All I know about Beste Zangers is an European singing competition show. She does some amazing songs in other languages very well.
I would highly recommend Floors solo performance of "Ava Maria" on her personal RUclips channel.

Funny you should say it sounds like a movie soundtrack, because it is a movie soundtrack. Nightwish made a movie called Imaginarium in 2012 & the album Imaginarium is the soundtrack for their soundtrack for the movie. The singer for Imaginarium is Annette. Tarja is the original singer. She is magnificent with a voice like a Siren. Annette is cute like a Pixie. She is a world-class singer & is an equal to pop singers like Taylor Swift & Lady Gaga. Floor is the current singer & she is majestic. Floor sounds & looks like a Valkyrie pretending to be human.

Imaginaerum is also the film music for Nightwish's film of the same name. Storytime describes the main character. The film had its world premiere during the tour. Shortly before, there had been a falling out with the second singer Anette and Floor was sitting in the front row instead of her.

@@PaulieReacts Yes that's it. The film is a commissioned work that was implemented by professionals on average. Neither a masterpiece nor a catastrophe. There are more songs in the concert and the film helps explain the meaning. Be careful with 'Song of myself'. At Wacken they only played the song itself. A collection of quotes follows on the album. A RUclipsr edited it and uploaded it as an extended version.
Film and music don't always go well together because the music is too independent. But that's the only way the album works and that was more important to Tuomas.

Pekka, I understand what you mean, if you see the previous songs he reacted to, but i also watched those songs ( except Angelina, i don't like her much, sorry Angelina fans), but then i came across Nightwish and I was hooked instantly!
@@Lilygirl283 It's common mistake among reactors, who got hyped. They start to overdo too fast. People, who have "life" can't follow.
I think you have a better reaction to watch if you paus a few times , say something about a part and rewind 5 sec to get in the flow again.
At the end you tend to forget things and are not as much fun as in the moment.
And as tempting as it is , never close your eyes in a Live Nightwish song (you always miss stuff)
