The Lion being called "Ugly Sanguinius" has to be the biggest heretic move ever made 🤣
Insert "We already have _Sanguinius_ at home" meme
sanguinius is just an ugly Fulgrim ;)
I mean, IIRC Lion had Emperor's personality and Sanguinius had Emperor's looks, so it kinda checks out. I mean, as a Primarch Lion was probably a peak human being and totally handsome, but lets be real, anybody is ugly compared to Sanguinius.
That's mad, as someone who knows his warhammers, I was looking at The Lion thinking 'why is Sanguinius looking so ugly?'
I dont think there are credible sources for that @@user-pm3wk6lw6m
We need this girl on the podcast. It would be one hell of a laugh. Imagine Shy's reactions.

18:36 One thing that isn't mentioned is that during their peak the Eldar could not die. When they died they just came back in the webway. That's why it was straight up ok to just murder eachother, death didn't even matter to them.
Wait isn`t this still the case? Or are craftworld eldar, ecodites and Drukari also biological immortal
@@heisnotlongbutthinnot exactly. Now, when any aeldar dies, Slannesh yoinks their soul almost immediately and devours it, and the only way the craftworld aeldar escape this is through spirit stones that act like a safety net, catching their soul before Slannesh does and keeping it safe. They can’t be reborn from the stone, but it’s better than letting Slannesh get it. Meanwhile the Drukhari Haemonculi covens can regrow your entire body should you die as long as you gave them a small biological piece of yourself to them beforehand, though this is more creating a copy of yourself and not quite rebirth
@@RhantheSlayer it is a rebirth because by means that we dont know, they can snatch theyr souls back from slaneesh or before it gets to them IF they work fast enough. Many Dark Eldar are also vat grown so many are probably let go if they even have souls at all.
You're right about their immortality, but it wasn't through the webway, it was via the warp. The webway is essentially a pocket dimension sectioned off from the warp eons ago, and it is fairly well insulated from the immaterium through unknown means (The Emperor was only able to create a crude facsimile of the original barrier for his section, and look how that turned out). That's why the Drukhari survived the fall, while Slaanesh can exert a pull on their souls it cannot directly get at them. Compare that to the fate of any Aeldari within 1000ly of the eye when it opened. They died instantly and had their souls sucked right out
@@firmak2The Dark Eldar get away with it because they discovered a way to keep their souls attached to any body part as long as it is still alive.
It's not uncommon for Dark Eldar to leave behind a finger or toe with the Humonculus guys to regrow their body from it.
Craftworld Eldar are shit out of luck, without their Spirit Stones, or if the Spirit Stone is broken, when they die they go straight to Slaanesh.
How the Exodites managed to avoid Slaanesh is currently unknown.
And the Harliquins have their god, Ceggeroch to thank for that. He punked their souls from Slaanesh.
I love how immersed you got in a couple of weeks. You're adorable with your fangirling! :3 Welcome in the community.
Thank you so much! Absolutely loving this journey!! ❤
@@ti8ickif you want to know more about the Emperor, and the more in depth parts of the lore in a still digestible fashion, I suggest you react to some stuff from the Templin Institute. They have a ton of very well done 40k videos, and and they are done beautifully, telling all the lore for a specific topic in less then 25 minutes more or less.
i was hooked pretty much the moment i knew what it was about. XD i've never played it but...... *_SHOW ME THE FURY OF YOUR MISBEGOTTEN KIND!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!_*
Ciaphas Cain is basically a story of a man with the biggest imposter syndrome in the history of mankind. It's told via logs, anecdotes, and commentary from other sources and sometimes some fact-checks from the man himself (he gets praised a lot and some of his actions get misconstrued as noble, but according to Cain, it's not and he just happened to suffer from success).
The books have good humor mixed with some worldbuilding.
Re-read the books lol
That speech at the end, combined with the music always gives me goosebumps.
Darktide soundtrack is peak Warhammer
Also you should see The Last Church. It's a wonderful story that throws some light on how the Emperor wanted humanity to be.
Ooh man, that one is a MUST WATCH. Great artistic style, great storytelling, passionate people behind it. Its so good. "The Last Church" is a must watch even if u dont know shit about WAR40k and are just watching some sci-fi film that happens to be a fantastic film. Its just so GOOD and so well done. And its a fanmade project if i recall correctly. Chills dude, chills! Cant recommend it enough.
29:46 Context
Horus is RECORDED to be the first Primarch found by the Emperor since Chaos split them all up across the galaxy, but Alpharius's book claims that he was the first as he landed right in Terra, and was kept a secret until his brothers were all found (and Omegon pretended to be him when Horus "found" him)
So basically, Alpharius and Omegon, the Begining and the End, are simultaneously the first and last primarch found
"Everything is canon, not everything is true."
Luetin does a great vid on some of the theories around the Emperor's beginnings, the one you mentioned is definitely worth checking out.
Will do!
I think Luetin is up to at least 5 videos on the Emperor, and some of em are like 2 hours. You'll have plenty to sink your teeth into! 😁

You can thank the elves for messing it up.
You do realize the humans were super close to being a 2nd fall of the eldar when Big E nearly became the dark king. The humans are juat as responsible for the state of teh galaxy. Besides, all of the elves directly responsible for the birth of slaanesh are dead in hell for all of Eternity. Contrary to popular and incorrect belief, the craftworlders had absolutely nothing to do with the birth of slaanesh. They off in the far reaches of the galaxy being normal people. 🖕
Hey, nothing against the Eldar!
Magnus was actually trying to stop the Horus Heresy. But instead of traveling to Terra to warn the emporer, he sent a psychic message that broke all the wards against chaos and the warp that protected Terra. It fucked up the webway project and let it be attacked by demons. It also caused the emporer to send the space wolves to bring in Magnus, which caused a battle and forced Magnus to turn to Tzeentch to save his legion.
what happened with magnus was downright tragic u_u
Turned into a blood angel when naming the primarchs, everyone was horus
Hahahahah 😂
As many others have suggested I would say Lutein. I'd also recommend Brickys podcast Adeptus Ridiculous, maybe not on stream but if you just want to listen to something fun while learning. They have dedicated episodes for each primarch and their legion.
Also
Iron within, iron without
Luetin's video is coming up next! WTF is Warhammer 40k followed by The Emperor of Man. Already followed Adeptus Ridiculous on Spotify lol
"Realm of Chaos" is also the title of an incredible album by the British band Bolt Thrower. All of the album artwork was done by Games Workshop, and, the songs are all WH40K based.
Ciaphus Cain is absolutely awesome. Sandy Mitchell is hilarious and brings the much needed comedy to balance out the tragedy in the 40k universe. On top of that they bring out the real horror in any faction the Imperium faces. The Gaunt's Ghosts are also fantastic and offer a great window into the 40k universe (and the crusade happening throughout the series is home to one of my favourite mysteries).
One thing I can say about the katest developments in the 40k Universe is that despite 40k literally coining the term "grim-dark", the heros and characters present could well lead to a light at the end of the tunnel.
Wasn't it revealed in the Siege of Terra series that it was one of the Emperors co-supporters, Erda, who yeeted the primarchs across the galaxy because she didn't agree with his plan?
The less said about Erda. Even for 40K, the Deus Ex Machina stink is strong on her. Came from nowhere to "fix" the scatter problem. Abnett is normally much better than Erda. So I believe that this solution was forced on him. How she was dealt with and by whom. Deus Ex Machina turned up to 40.
This is one of the most lore dense settings around. If youre having fun, believe me, this is just the beginning. Ive been a fan for 25 years and I'm having more fun with it than ever. 🙂
Your expression during the AD, so funny
Roughly 11.000 BC Shamans lived on terra and they had a feint connection to the warp and they felt that the warp was evil and not good for humanity. So they gathered. All Shamans of the World gatherd (near what today is Antalya in Türkiye), took over 100 years. And in a ritual they all sacrificed their lifes, combined their powers and put them in a boy who was born nearby in that night. That was the birth of the Emperor. In one of the Books its mentioned he calles himself Nerot. This is information from the 1st Edition so its possible not correct anymore.
The Gaunts Ghosts Series is amazing, it helped me to convince my wife to 40k and now she is nearly as addicted as i am. Also for really deep dive into the lore i would recommend Arch but for a lot of his videos it is better to get some knowledge before, like you do from Bricky and Luetin does an amazing job as well.
The Emperor of Mankind stayed in the shadows, while making the best use of the Tech from the Golden/Dark Age. Hense further enhance himself, while also doing expirience on his sons, the Primarch and the first SpaceMarines. While at this time he also unlocked more secrets from the power of the Warp. So with time his power grew crazy
Eisenhorn is split into three books, and all are really intense. It's the even-darker underside of the Inquisition, filled with intrigue and crazy demon-xenos stuff. For something a bit more action packed and approachable, Helsreach is one of the all time classic 40k novels. If you want a good heroic speech, it'll deliver. The fan-made film that uses the audiobook is amazing.
The Rugby team ate dead bodies after an air plane crash because there was no other food available. They made a movie about it.
First of course, much appreciation to Bricky and to you for adding another fun, perceptive layer to this!
Yeah, Luetin has some videos clearing up the sea of souls and warp, the origins of the Emperor, and the Horus Heresy. I say "clearing up" but with some of that, especially the life of big E, it's expanding on a compelling story or theory. The Emperor can be hard for even the primarchs to be sure how to perceive and interpret him sometimes (like when Guilliman was revived and returned to Terra).
Naturally the Horus Heresy books have expanded the lore a lot, and so, there were some big and small scraps of info in the decade or so before that series. They even changed some details about the final battle that Bricky described, which of course he couldn't have known! Bricky also hints at another twist of the order the primarchs were found in.
Aside from ideally being good reading, the Heresy novels had to answer at least some big questions from the bits of previous lore. Why didn't big E just make more primarchs? Where was the Emperor, or why was he stuck on Terra when he could've kicked any primarch's arse (at least before chaos buffs)? Well the next paragraph is only a bit more specific than what Bricky said, and so, only slightly spoiler-y if at all!
Well, Magnus tried to warn dad that Horus was being corrupted by chaos. The warning cracked open the secret webway project that Magnus and most other primarchs were unaware of. Forces of chaos, loads of daemons, flooded in. The Emperor helped his golden gang fight them off, but he mostly had to use the throne to keep the chaos in his webway from spilling into the throne room, Imperial palace and Terra by extension.
I hope that helps! I know I go on about Arbitor Ian lol, but he has a lore video on the Horus Heresy, and he's got one on the creative history of it too, like a Making Of documentary haha! They're around 40 minutes so no worries if it's too much for stream or you've seen them or wanna save things for when you read! :)
Bricky is great fun and i'm absolutely loving seeing you watch his videos. TBH tho I'm way more excited for you to get into the real meat of the lore through some of the Loremasters like Leutin, TheAmberKing, etc, since Bricky skips over super important things, or just portrays them incorrectly. Either way, it'll be a wild ride!
Thank you! I totally understand that Bricky lets a bunch of details out but honestly it’s way easier to memorize things this way, if I started with the real meat my brain would overheat lol I’ll get there! I’m taking my time and enjoying this journey so much

A good thing for your Tyranids fun could be the audio-vid "Genestealer cult. " But a warning, its really dark.
Full marks for naming all the Primarchs!
The 2 missing legions are not known about and never will be. They serve as a avenue for the fans to create their own Legions/Chapters with their own lore, miniatures, stories etc. Essentially allowing fan creations to fit within the universe.
loving your bricky reactions! keep up the good content.
Men and women of the guard, Your foe is well equipped, well-trained, battle-hardened. He believes his gods are on his side. Let him believe what he will. We have the tanks on ours.
There's a fan theory that the chaos gods are actually just one god with split personalities, because whats more chaotic than fighting yourself?
I can 100% agree with his suggestion for The Infinite and The Divine, I think I've even recommended it in a different video of yours. I think it's probably the most "fun" grim dark story I've read and while I haven't read his other suggestions I think I'd still put the Dark Imperium trilogy above a lot of the other books I've read, they were what really solidified my love of Warhammer 40k.
I enjoy how happy you look when you see Nurgle... Not something I suspect he is used to (but he does love is follows after all.)
Bricky is amazing at telling the lore, and there is Baldermort's guide to warhammer he is amazing. Also, you should check him out. He does a deep deep dive into everything
Let´s hope we get a warhammer 40k movie or series with Henry Cavill and this franchise gets more love from more people.
I always love watching people get bit by the 40k bug and descend into it's madness, also for orks imagine them like this, you drop an ork at a walmart, it goes and tapes together five nerf guns that fire real rockets, why? Because that orks believe it does that and that's how they work, kinda.
Magnus The Red being the second most powerful "human" Psyker after the Emperor saw a vision of Horus falling to chaos in a vision. He tried to contact the Emperor through a message in the warp to let him know of this vision and as a warning, but in the process of doing so caused the destruction of the Webway project the Emperor was working on. It just got sadder after that.
"Everything was very bad, and then it got even worse" is a phrase that accurately describes WH40k
I was hoping you would cover this one!
Event Horizon is a great movie that gives me terrors from the warp like vibes
I remember watching it in the early 2000s and barely remember it. Guess it's time to rewatch it with the 40k knowledge I currently have
fyi Philip Eisner, the guy who wrote EH's script has said that his inspiration for the film's core concept, "ship uses hell as an ill considered space shotrtcut", comes from the 40K Warp.
Welcome in the community
Idk how well Bricky is caught up with his 'Thousand Sons' lore, but the ocean analogy is unironically perfect cause the Thousand Sons referred to the Warp as "The Great Ocean"
we need to get her on adeptus ridiculous and get DK to teach her something
👀
Yes, Horus was the first to be found of my brothers.
-Alpharius
Leutin09's series is there for that(The Emperor's speculated origin).
Good luck with those videos.
I've read somewhere the Emperor started as a common human being "with some psycher powers" (maybe one of the first psychers) and evolved. He got to the point of borning again after dying, then started to "guide humanity, appearing as a prophet, or a great scientist, general or engineer, throught the times, but "anonimously" because he didn't wanted to be revered as a diety".
So.. The irony is: he almost gets killed, is treated like a god AND humanity sacrifices 1000 souls/day to keep him "alive" while not knowing he'd be born again right after.
If you want a deeper dive, Isyander and Kota have really good long form videos with details on factions and characters
If you’re loving the darkest depths of the grim dark future then you need to check out Helsreach, it was initially a series but I believe someone has put all parts into one video making it a movie. If you want a visual tale of the 3rd war for Armageddon then this is a film you need to see! 😊
I would suggest looking into Isander & Koda they have videos about most of the legions and Factions of 40K explained in a funny and easy way. They are also kind of in depth too.
We will know we really got her when she starts watching battle reports
I am currently reading the infinite and the divine and i'm telling you, it is a blast. Trazyn and Orikon are a dreamteam made in the warp
29:46 Bricky threw a bone here.
For context: "Officially" the first Primarch that Big E found was Horus, but there is a wacky theory that says that the one that he found first, on Terra, was Omegon of the Alpha Legion. Alpharius, his twin brother, was the one that got yeeted to space. For whatever reason the existence of Omegon was kept in secret by The Emperor and his right hand, Malcador.
Alpharius was found later by Horus and developed and strong bond with his primarch brother. When the Horus Heresy begun Alpharius was one of the first to join his cause. Later he was killed by Rogal Dorn in the Battle of Pluto. Seizing the opportunity and because of his loyalty to The Emperor, Omegon took the identity of his brother and became Alpharius, Primarch of the Alpha Legion. Since then his Chapter has been sabotaging the traitor cause from inside.
This is why he wrote: "I am Alpharius. This is a lie".
Of course, this is a theory. Anything related to the Alpha Legion is just conspiracies and speculations.
This is why the Alpha Legion is still sooooo confusing to me lol
There was also another part to the war in heaven. The Eldar gods had a little fight with each other, one of them named Illith told Kaine she had a bad dream that his followers would shatter him(hehehe foreshadowing what happens to him later). So naturally Kaine being the Eldar god of war decided to do the logical thing and tried to kill everyone causing a war between the Eldar and Khaine. There is more to it than that, and there's a part where Khaine starts a war over a sword shortly after that, because of course he does. 😂😂
Hey this is random and totally not relevant, but I really appreciate you have pretty clean content. Makes me comfortable that my kids watch it. I am very wary of what is being consumed now and your stuff was really nice and respectful compared to others.
Thank you so much, I'd still be careful because I might be dropping an unedited swear here and there haha
@@ti8ick Not an issue considering what most content is now a days. No one is perfect. God bless.
Btw, everything Bricky says about the Webways is wrong. The Eldar did not make them, the old ones did. It is a labyrinthine structure inside the warp, but built from a material no one can no longer replicate that repulses Chaos. The Eldari just use them since the old ones are gone and left them empty.
Why is this important? The Eldari do not have the ability create, alter or fix them. Otherwise they could easily solve the whole Golden Throne problem that Magnus created by fixing/sealing the "human webways" that were exposed to Chaos
ps. There are a lot of lore on the Emperor, Bricky is just ignoring all of it to keep the video short. He is also not 10 feet tall adonis, that is just a psychic illusion
Yeah the Emperor is a pretty complicated character. There's way more "I don't know"s than there are "I know"s. And even then the truth of what we "know" can be contested
@@ironduke5058 True, but still a lot is known for sure from reliable sources. Meanwhile, almost everything the Imperium of man or even the Primarchs claim about the Emperor is mostly just propaganda and altered memories (Big E and Malcador changed memories a lot before and during the great crusade, and even the memories of all the Primarchs), so spreading that as gospel isn't great either
Not 10ft tall? Illusion? How dare you?
Can I have an inquisitor here?
Bricky's down bad
LOL
7:02 yep, in every warhammer setting "the great game" as it is called is a well established fact, the four greatest powers of Chaos are fierce rivals, and oftentimes even when one of the gods turns their atention to the material realm he has to look out for the other three not taking advantage of it. there are also other beings in the warp who would wish to become the fifth player in this game, but so far none have succeeded

@@ti8ick based on the support that other content creators have gotten reacting to them I’d say myself and the rest of your fans would greatly appreciate the reaction :)
If you want a mechanicus story, vox in the void abomination is a good one.
The Leagues of Votann in a nutshell:
They were genetically-engineered humans made to be stronger, durable, and with heightened senses during the Dark Age of Technology. Because the areas that the "Kin" (as they call themselves) reside in are near-impossible to access by other races, they were mostly lost and forgotten to time. Because of this, the Votann were spared from all of the major events that happened in 40k. A pocket empire did arise calling themselves the "Squat Empire," but were slaughtered and devoured by a Tyranid splinter fleet.
The Kin have access to fully functional Standard Template Constructs (or STC) that were created during the Dark Age of Technology, which are capable of automatically mining, building cities and even terraforming a planet. Kin center these STCs around their culture, calling them their "Ancestor Cores." The STCs were ALSO lost and forgotten to time. The Leagues live in relative isolation, hiding their civilization from the rest of the galaxy, usually seen every so often and are usually ignored. The Votann ESPECIALLY hide their tech from groups like Adeptus Mechanicus, who would stage a large-scale crusade if they ever discovered that the Votann have fully functional STCs. The Leagues are also hidden from the forces of Chaos, because their souls are very dim (much like the Tau).
The downside of the Leagues, is that their Ancestor Cores are starting to degrade over the past 10,000 years, which is slowly affecting the Kin, which causes them to take initiative to set out into the galaxy. They have trading agreements with both the Eldar and the Tau (but keep the better supplies to themselves) and have an uneasy peace treaty with the Imperium.
And, from what ive seen recently, they have a nasty habit of devouring entire planets with mining super-ships to claim the resources, irrespective of the poor saps who might happen to be living on it at the time.
@@Musabre Yeah, they're heavily capitalistic and only care about production.
It's crazy how popular Warhammer has become these last few years. But i think it has much more to do with just animation series and Cavill's decision to make a movie. I think the whole theme is becoming an inspiration. We love "regression" and "intolerance". The Emperor Protects.
"The Salamanders. He black, okay?" This had me rolling 😂😂😂
The Emperor Protects!!!
Infinite and the Divine was the 1st 40K book I read and it's still the best one.
I really like that you actually asked the original creator for permission, that's awesome.
honestly the four books bricky picked are perfect to start out Horus rising is great as a sort of prequel and more lore around space marines Cain gives you a more upbeat saturday mourning cartoon feel for the guard while Gaunt's Ghost is the more in the trenches brotherhood and courage story
A bit of a warning, "Horus Rising" is the first of 70 books recounting the horus heresy.
I'd consider it somewhat deeper lorewise.
"Eisenhorn" is a great pick for a new fan. Awesome story, not too much background knowledge needed. And the start of 3-4 different series...
true Horus Rising is the first part in a 70 book series but it's just space marines no sub factions and you don't really need much background knowledge when your literally reading the prequal to the story. I can't say much about Eisenhorn as i haven't listened to it yet I just finished book 70 of the heresy and cain's current list of books
@@Ilithilich
I agree that Horus Rising is a great book, i just would not reccomend it to a beginner.
Yes, it's THE prequel, and relatively light on lore, because it's set "before" the current lore.
It's space marines versus enemies you'll never hear of again.
It sets up a huge story, with tons of intrigue, great characters and huge stakes.... but it takes 70 books to really pay off (over 25 days non-stop listening).
I highly recommend the entire series, IF you know 40k and are really interested in the horus heresy.
When i started 40k, the Horus Heresy was a rumour, only partly recorded in art books and cardgames.
Part of the fun is slowly building out the legend and filling in all the gaps and theories.
Definitely read it.... just not yet.
There's so much more than 70 books about deep background lore.
@@Ilithilich fair point to me it's a good pick simply cause it's somewhere you can start book wise a place where you can branch off into different books and start to explore what you like and what not
All the books he recommended are great, but I think Eisenhorn is the best to start with.
Emperor: Ayo chaos gods, wanna give me space magic and manner to build primarchs?? Imma give you half of them 20 (and secretly cheat on this deal)
Some times human psykers are born and manifest their powers usualy around 8-9 years and they can become psykers at any age if they are exposed to enough psychic energy making the mutation to activate or in situations when your emotions become very powerful like obviouslie in the battle field.
Also a problem with Warhammer lore is that there are SO many cool to learn about. You can bounce around the universe learning about things. Choose something you're interested in, and go piece by piece. However for basic timeline. You learn how the emperor makes his kids + with who. How he loses them, how he finds them. then eventually the horis heresey. Because that is how the emperor ends up on the golden throne for good ( some may say....) (Maybe the emperor is transending into a the 5th chaos god) Who knows.
Then .... start choosing factions or people you like and dive into it.
The rugby players in the mountains is a real story. Basically the Uruguayan rugby team was travelling by plane, the plane crashed in the Andes mountains, by the time rescuers arrived (a long time) the survivors had to cannibalise the dead to survive.
The Gaunt's Ghost series is amazing. 12 or 13 books, and you grow attached to many of the characters. I recommend the Heresy/Siege of Terra books too, but keep in mind that it's a LOT of reading if you're a completionist. There's maybe 5 novels in the series that could be considered filler, even though they're linked to the overall story.
Bricky pretty wild with the writing, editing, visuals, pacing, etc etc
I think there was a piece of lore that in like 8000 bc a bunch of powerful shamans were afraid of the warp and decided to commit a ritual suicide and merge their souls into one being. And that was The Emperor's birth. He was keeping low profile and showed himself only in Mad Max era. But all of that is an old lore, so it's really unclear if that's still canon.
p.s. I think Eisenhorn books is probably the best choice for first warhammer reading, definitely not Horus rising because well Horus Heresy is a historic event inside the setting. It's like reading about some historic events in Harry Potter's world before the Harry Potter books.
I heard a couple of theories but not this one. I guess it's going to remain a mystery, which is also not a bad thing
Some people really like this theory. It's one of the oldest, too. But honestly I'm not too keen on it myself. That's what's fun about 40K -- a lot of the time, you can make up your own theory about things if you want to. 🙂
1. The history of the Emperor is deliberately mysterious. We know very little for sure about his life. It's believed that he was born around 8000 BC in Anatolia, modern day Turkey. An old story suggested that he was created by thousands of early psykers called Shamen committing mass suicide and combining their souls to create a super-being. We don't know his 'real' name. The mystery is absolutely deliberate, and will probably never be fully addressed.
2. I strongly recommend the Ciaphas Cain novels as your next foray after Eisenhorn. They follow a highly atypical Commissar in the Imperial Guard, and give a very human perspective on the universe, and the audiobooks are _excellent._
Moby - "Extreme ways" is a pretty fitting background number for the 40K timeline
At this point they should hire Bricky to narrate a Warhammer game
21:57 He is referring to the movie called "Alive", based on a true story where a plane full of rugby players from Uruguay crashes in the Andes mountains, and to stay alive, they have to turn to..... some extreme measures to keep themselves alive and fed.
Ohhhh I know this story but never watched the movie, I just don’t have the guts for it lol
You should look up The Donnor Party. Makes this look like a regular Tuesday.
@@ti8ick its a good movie, not as graphic as you would expect, but definitely not an easy one.
6:35 da papa 😂 dats so cute
As for where the emperor came from, yeh, bricky is kinda right, nobody rlly knows. Ders no specific/canon lore on emps origin, not even in da books.
There's lots of theories tho, some r more popular than others, but all are just theories 🤷♂️ which is kinda great tbh, they made it so dat its up to the person to decide on where or how emps came to be, if theres no concrete lore on how he originated. This might change in the future with lore retcons, but as for now, its up to u on what to like among da theories when it comes to emps origins
That's not true. The Emperor was created by the conclave of Shamans. The emperor's spirit had manifested throughout human history, as a perpetual. So they sacrificed themselves in a ritual to bring forth this spirit, merge with it and create the saviour of humanity.
@@larryargent503 I think dats been retconned in earlier editions and its not the official origin of emps anymore. Its been downgraded to a theory, but its definitelly one of the more popular ones out der
@@muadibadder3345 What did they retconn it to? As far as I've read and looking at the lexicons, it seems that's the history. (edit) Yeah I had a look. What I said seems to be the answer.
@@larryargent503 I think da retconn is dat there is no more concrete origin of the emperor, I guess. GW probably wanted to make the emperor more mysterious than he already is by making the lore of his origins more vague, paving the way 4 people to make their own interpretations, idk. GW has always done this wid their retconns 🤣
@@muadibadder3345 It's definitely been established. I dont see anything that says otherwise. If you have the book or the references that retconned it, I'll be happy to read it. Cause you made me look it up - I have at least 30 sources that disagree and have been part of explaining his myth.
Old lore states that early human psykers who could reincarnate noticed the rising thread of chaos and fused their souls to make a person capable of combating chaos, to guide and guard humanity. This soul was then born around 10000 BC and while we don’t know his original name, only pseudonyms he has used such as Neoth, later took the name Emperor. We don’t know if this is still canon, but we do know he was born as a powerful perpetual (40k immortal strain of humans.) psycher, who was either op from day one or became one over time.
Thank you for this piece of lore, regardless if it's still canon or not, I appreciate it ❤️
Thec speculation and rumors on who the Emporor is or was is interesting. I've heard he was Alexander the Great and Abraham Lincoln, but these are basically just roles he took.
If you want a much more complete time line, WesHammer made a video on it titled "40K Timeline EXPLAINED . Everything You NEED to Know! | Warhammer Lore".
It dives way more into detail on things like The War in Heaven, The Age of Technology, The Age of Strife, and The Long Night, as well as where the Emporer actually came from and who he really is.
While funny, this time line misses a lot and gets some things confused. He doesn't explain where the Emporer came from, mixes up when the chaos gods were born, and skips over a lot of key facts.
If you really want a good understanding of the Emperor, I recommend Old Man React's "The Mistakes of The Emperor" series.
As I'm sure other already mentioned there are multiple theories about The Emperor's origin. What is known about him is that he's ancient as hell, he lived in the shadows and observed humanity for thousands of years and he's a Perpetual.
A Perpetual is basically a mutant that is immortal. Some Perpetuals are born naturally and other are created through genetic alternations and the use of super advanced technology. How they came to be is a mystery, probably random through evolution.
The Emperor isn't the only Perpetual, there are others like him but not as strong as him. For example The Emperor had a friend named Malcador that basically was his right hand man and helped him rule humanity and this dude was a Perpetual too.
He looked like a frail old man but Malcador was an extremely powerful psyker, strong enough that he could basically almost kill a Primarch, one the Emperor's sons, with a wave of his hand. And Malcador isn't even close to the Emperor, he's like less than 1% of what the Emperor is.
Anyways, the first few theories about the Emperor that come to mind are:
-He's one of the last surviving Old Ones
-He's a Chaos God
-He's the reincarnation of many thousands of human shamans (basically the first Psykers that already existed when humans were still primitive) that had a collective vision of a terrible future and decided to commit a sort of "ritual suicide" to merge their souls into a single god-like being in order to protect humanity. At one point this was the most "canon" explanation, but now there are other theories
And I'm sure there's many other that I don't know about. Luetin did some pretty cool videos about this topic, but they're veeery long videos so you might want to watch them in parts (there's like multiple videos and they're like 1 hour and a half each because they go over all the history and lore in great detail)
I actually own one of those Bricky shakers and it is my favorite big gulp
Luetin in his 1st the emperor of mankind video explains a little bit more more where and how he came to be...(a little tiny bit)...
Hey, love watching your journey so far, just subbed. Also, enjoy your personality and you have an awsome accent. And it doesn't hurt you're suuuuper cute lol
Anyway, enough gushing, imo, starting 40k at the fall of Cadia (Pour one out for the homies) is a really good spot to get introduced into modern 40k. Then I'd jump into the Watchers of the Throne, followed by the Dawn of Fire books and the Dark Imperium books. Highly recommend all of them.
It’s always nice to see someone getting into it, but If you really are interested in reading some of the books I’d 100% say Horus rising.
The first 4 books in the heresy series are set in order and have the same characters. You’ll be really surprised by the quality! For a story about space wizards for nerds it’s very very good literature 😂
"Ugly Sanguinius"
*Approves in Red Thirst*
the Eisenhorn books are pretty good and Decent for beginners. make sure you add Magos to that collection nd those short stories tell a lot about the background.
the old lore is that the emperor was created by a group of psykers who had foreseen the future of mankind, sacrificed themselves to meld into one super psyker being.
oh shit was that retconned?
@@fartsmella40000 Seemingly so, i guess GW prefer to keep his origins more enigmatic and mysterious. He's essentially part of a group of "perpetuals" immortals, but clearly ended up being the most powerful of them by a factor of a million. No real clear idea of how the perpetuals came about though, and im one book shy of reading everything in the horus heresy series. They definitely retconned the old ritual psykers sacrifice shtick.
@@Musabre damn, i knew the emperor was a perpetual but i didnt that kind of replaced the old lore. every single shaman sacrifing themselves to become ome was fuckin metal :(
The Emperor being put on the golden throne is for multiple purposes, for one, its a powerful life support device that could stave off his death from the wounds he suffered fighting Horus, secondly, Magnus' mistake that destroyed the Emperor's web way project created a rift to the warp that, should the throne be turned off, would consume Terra, and third, so long as the throne is active, Warp Travel is easier thanks to the psychic beacon it emits acting as a lighthouse when in the warp
Slight thing on Slaanesh - "She who thirsts" is a translation of Sai'lanthresh which is the Aeldari name for Slaanesh. But Slaanesh appears as either gender or no gender. They appear in what ever form is most appealing to your soul. If you're interested check out the tale of the Silver Knight.
the infinite and the divine is honestly my favorite thus far. It is hilariously petty at every opportunity. the one downside is the book expects you to know what certain ships and units look like. For example a couple times the book will say something like "trayzen stepped on top of the death scythe and teleported away", I didn't know what a 'death scythe' looks like. is it a ship, a building, a unit? beyond stuff like that the book is honestly a solid 9/10 would recommend
The Eisenhorn Trilogy (and the follow up Ravenor trilogy, which is followed by the Bequin trilogy, which I have not read yet, but since it's Dan Abnett writing I am sure they are excellent) is very good. Gaunts Ghosts (by the same writer as Eisenhorn) is also great. And The Ciaphas Cain books by Sandy Mitchell are a very fun read, and impressive, because Sandy Mitchell managed to write GrimDark Comedy and if that isn't impressive, I don't know what is. Very funny books
