I got as far as the WiFi connection off/on Button. I clicked it and it wouldn’t switch, also tried dragging it. No joy. Any ideas about that? It seems like the most simple step!

It's weird I have the same exact tv he has and the WI-FI connection tell me that the WI-FI is OFF. But the it doesn't give me a option to turn on or off like his does.

No, you don't have to jail-break the phone.
Try restarting the phone (hold down the power button) and then trying again.

These LG TV only work for about a year and then all the WiFi stuff goes faulty. My LGTV doesn’t have working internet anymore. I have to use Xbox consoles to watch anything and that’s the same on both LGTV’s in my house.
