- If your LG TV says the WiFi is turned off but it isn't, and you see the "Turn it on to see the list of available networks" error, then you either have a basic software issue or something more serious. This video will help you troubleshoot the problem and hopefully fix it.

I had to do the location change 8 or 9 times. Then cut the power for 45 minutes. Turned the t.v. back on and still didn't have Wi-Fi. But the next day when I turned the t.v. on the Wi-Fi was back on the t.v.! LG will drive you crazy!! Thank you for your help.
Brilliant. The 'change location' reset worked a treat. After months (maybe years) of dodgy Wi-Fi connectivity our LG TV is now fully working without an internet cable and it took about 3 minutes to complete. I'm so grateful. Somehow these steps actually worked! I won't say it wasn't frustrating to keep fiddling...moving it....waiting...turning it on and then have it start on wifi but go out again...but the step that somehow worked and I have no idea why really was when we took off the back of the TV. We unplugged the wifi , the ribbons were bent so I straightened them out a little, and then blew a few breaths on the parts in case there was dust. When I plugged it back in - it asked if I wanted to update the software and I said yes and this time it actually completed it. I moved it back to it's original place in the basement and it is all updated and working fine now. We were going to go buy a new one and this guy saved the environment and us some $. Lg Tv are trash. The locations change worked for me thank you. We should collectively file a clash action lawsuit against this evil company because their smart tv is too buggy and they are not making any effort to fix this

My locked out wifi option was able to be fixed by the first suggested fix of changing the automatic location temporarily to Canada and then manually to US.

Goodness gracious. I have an LG from around 2017/2018. Nothing worked except taking the back cover off of the TV - Everything looked completely fine, except some dust I blew out. Nothing wrong with the wifi board, but I took it out and put it back in. Took forever to get the tv backing back on. But somehow that worked!

Thank you so much the location change worked for me. It didn't work immediately and i was ready to do the soft reset when suddenly boom. My only worry is that is this not going to be a recurring problem and if so, what if the easy fixes don't work next time

The wifi stopped working some months ago, but I didn't care because I was using chromecast, but now the hdmi stopped working too... I'm never going to buy anything from lg again, my samsung tv is older and still working... Unfortunately none of these tips worked, this tv is just garbage now.
Only #4 worked for me. I have the SK8000PUA 55”. I took the back panel off unplugged the ribbon cable at the bottom blew it out. Then I cut the blue tape holding the ribbon cables together and took the tape off separating them. I took a can of air and blew off all the circuit boards. Put the panel back on and hooked everything back up and IT WORKED! The tv and remote work better thank ever. This is the only one that worked for me. 7/4/24

Final I found a comment and took off back panel with only few screws, clean up the Wi-Fi part and BOOM, it worked!

Could it be the WiFi module still if it’s connecting and dropping? I am on the soft reset step. I have used the tv in HDMI mode w/o internet for years but now I’m gonna have to use WiFi. What junk lol…

I tried all the easy fixes in a number of videos and nothing worked. So I tried what I call the ultimate reset. My fios settop box, my audio amplifier, and my LG UK6500AUA tv are all connected to a power strip. Before going to bed, I flipped the power strip switch to off, making the whole setup a brick. In the morning I flipped the switch to on and gave the components a few minutes to power back up and that fixed the problem. My guess that it works because the tv never really goes completely off power in the standby mode.

I had an extended warranty and this happened about 2 months before the extended warranty was set to expire. They fixed it. Well 2 years later the issue is back again. Only way I could keep connection was to actually hook a cat5 cable from the modem to the tv. Speed also increased too compared to the wifi connection.

I tried 3 of the 4 steps that you recommended but to no avail. I still cannot connect. My TV doesn't even list any wifi networks. It simple states...."Your WiFi is turned off. I tried calling LG. No luck.

Tried everything except opening the back and it didn't work. I have a gut feeling opening the back would work but I don't wanna bother 😂. Also a workaround for this is to use a firestick and run all your wifi stuff through there. I don't mind it cuz I actually like the firestick interface more and I don't watch a lot of live TV. 👍🏽

Tried #1 and 2,5 also. Yet still not working. 😢 I also tried entering our wifi SSID and password many times. Still, it says wifi is not connected.

Mine got fixed by changing the location to manual then selecting another country, then manually selecting US. As soon as I changed it, all the updates started working. I also set a manual IP address to mitigate resolution delays. I figured the problem might be a comm resolution between the tv and the new isp router.
Mine stopped working. I tried a few of these but it’s not worth it to try some of these more in depth fixed. Without a doubt the last LG tv i buy.

I solved the problem by using a firewire. The LG Wi Fi is really bad so just use a 3rd party such as firewire or some other external connection. The firewire solved my problem

Ok so I have done everything you said except taking the back of the tv off nothing worked… but I did fix the issues I been dealing with this problem for months so what I plug the tv out hold the power bottom for 15 seconds then I lightly smack the back of the tv where the WiFi module about 4 times i plugged it back in then everything went back to normal just like that lol

If you have a firestick that you no longer use. Use that and the wifi will connect to the firestick. That's what I did. No more connection problems. I tried all the tricks and none worked for me either. I wasn't willing g to take the back off of the TV a nd check the modular
