Since you don't have access to GPS the waypoint marker is a bit of a cheat if you use it historically. Moving up the hill you might have seen some nearby hill tops or other distinct features and triangulate from those. But that is hard in thick treecover terrain.
Nice one CEDE You could also use the triangulation method. 3 random points, take bearing/back bearing from each and where the lines cross that is where you are. :-)
To change a 'bearing to' to a 'bearing from' add 20° and subtract 200° is easier for me to work out than just subtracting 180°, like I said, my maths sucks . 😄😵 Eg, if your direction to your objective is 270° your bearing from it would be 270 + 20 - 200 = 90°
@@ChrisInThailand I don't think that's necessarily bad math, it's just a way to make it easier for you. I do pretty similar stuff. (like if I want to add 9 to a number like 54, I would add 54+10 = 64, and then subtract 1 to get 63. It sounds complicated on paper but it's easier to work out in my mind than the more conventional ways that people do it
skipped through video, first i though theres is some interessting information going on, but then the shift click marker was placed and ye. thanks for.... aaahm .... ye... for your time and...... your thoughts.
It's not "work" it's part of the challenge, and to me at least, fun. If you don't want to do it, there's lots of options to make your life and the game really easy.

Dude thank you for this. Kept getting lost and chased by trackers. Ran out of 25 toe poppers lol
Super tutorial - thanks. This will really help.
Yeah my maths sucks, I know.
What does FUP stand for?
Form Up Point, is the polite version.
why subtract 200*?

So much work just to find your location

Using markers is cheating. IRL you do not have this function.
