I am SO GLAD someone finally covered April Fool's Day in rhythm games. They're a GOLD MINE of quality shitposts charts. Also the music in the Lanota runner segment clip sounds like ENERGY SYNERGY MATRIX by Tanchiky. The animation made for the music also makes some hilariously chaotic animations on their channel.
This year I reserved the ENTIRETY of April 1st just to play rhythm game April Fools' content. I ended up spending around 20 hours rotating between games and participating in community-run events, and it's been the most fun I've had doing anything ever. 100% would recommend doing this every year
I did not think this would be an actual video But april fools events are some of the funniest in the history of gaming, especially since most of them are genuinely pretty fun to play too.
7:54 That is probably one of the most funniest April fools rhythm game jokes ever seen because when it comes to seeing Japanese congee you literally have to make your hands spaz out on the pad in order to get through all of the congee
@@SuperSmashDolls The AC version is offline, 2 Original Style is now unsupported and has graphical issues on some versions of iOS and Wai Wai Party! is stil supported
AS A BIG SEKAI FAN the new groups thing isn't the only thing they did for april fools! last year they made everyone in the game sing together for a brand new song made just for that day and this year sent half the cast to the ancient past and the other half to a futuristic city and made six new groups to sing new covers
THAT group song is permanent though. The shuffle group members covers went away on the 2nd (for both this year's and the one with the all boys pomp and circumstance (ifuudoudou) two years ago.
1:21 How about the daja77 recreation? He does a bunch of rhythm game fanmade gameplay in Famicom/NES style with an 8-bit song remix. And he actually made a Rizminance video before which might be the closest thing to an actual footage(assuming he actually played the game during the location tests)
Dang, I got bamboozled both by video title and intro (I thought my pc has a stroke again and it stopped at frame 0) Nice video! Though it would've been cool if you had also included AF event in Phigros' discord that was happening across 15 mobile* games and lasted the whole day
There is a pirate version of reflcbeat for the ios with custom song chats and someone release a song of the crying Japanese politician as a meme. It's very funny!
So far for Project Sekai the big group April Fools song (BE The Music) is the only permanent April Fools day song. The one with all the human characters and 6 selected vocaloids singing the song. This year's groups were interesting, coming to this 2 days after AFD. 2 had 5, 1 had 4, and 3 had 3 members to a song as opposed to 2022's, which had the traditional 5 member groups. (I'll come back to edit this after I check what year the first shuffle AF event was, unless someone here wants to confirm)
Also, I do have one that is in a dead franchise the one that started from School Idol Festival 1 with a song by Cyazalea*Kiss themed after a super sentai theme song, which is also permanent, pretty much.
u actually got me w that fakeout end of video i was like its over r u fr??? fun vid tho i didnt know april fools day is such an even for rhythm games. ionly ever played tapsonic and proseka.
This is the first time I've ever seen someone mention SilentBlue outside of SilentBlue, nice The Sega Saturn startup sound (2013 AFD event) was uploaded to niconico on AFD 2013, but has loooooong since been deleted. Good to know we're somehow the only source for the thing existing now lol Sad to see you didn't mention my favourite ever AFD/rhythm game crossover which was Cranky composing an entire song in 24 hours (with guests) and then getting it added to CHUNITHM. It then got a World's End chart in 2023 which has the greatest count-in tick in rhythm game history ruclips.net/video/31jubEzbHKA/видео.html Thanks for the mention
New video idea: covering the hidden song unlocking method of rhythm games, now that many mobile rhythm games have done it and maimai International getting Project raputa
This year's Arcaea one had the funniest access method. It was annoying in a good way (and a long journey). For those not in the know, they always poke fun on something with the access method of the new song, which doesn't return each year. The past songs do, and it's trivial to play them once you know their base song.
I absolutely love the goofy-ass, ridiculous rhythm game community. 🥲 I never really cared about April Fool's Day until I got deep into rhythm games in the last 5 years, but now it's one of my favorite minor holidays of the year. It's so much fun to see what wild new stuff everyone comes up with, even if every year I forget to play half the games. Except Arcaea; I never miss an Arcaea April Fool's chart. 💙
wow I love dead rhythm games
Also at 12:25 the credit is to Jakads not jack, my mistake! Happy April Fools :)
I love EGHD all my homies love EGHD
what's kind of funny is that polaris chord picks up off rizminance's mechanics still with the faders and buttons :P
What’s funnier is that Polaris Code is dead already
Update: Polaris Chord got a de-ProSeka-izing update and it’s decent now (besides the tiny song list)
@@cmyk8964I still wonder if vro is gonam get some original songs soon

The music in the Lanota runner segment clip *is* ENERGY SYNERGY MATRIX, albeit with a few airhorns here and there.

Very underrated game channel.
Don't forget Nostalgia! Every April Fools they replace all the piano notes in classical songs with cats meowing!

In 2013 Groove coaster did an April fool event with the release of Spooky Story [Car GPS]
In 2024 Groove Coaster did an April Fools event by shutting down their servers :P

Ah, April Fools charts.
Probably the first one I really experienced was the “scary stories” in Groove Coaster.
I just stumbled into those on accident!
Omfg what is the song at 1:53 it’s driving me crazy
at 16:52 that actually feels kinda nice because its charting a poly rhythm.

TAKUMI³ has pretty good april fools stuff I'd say. It's like having chunithm's world's end mode, but on mobile.
No taiko mention? They did a new one this year and the one for a year or two ago was pretty good
