I have several Wyze cams that am happy with overall, but I must point out a couple of shortcomings: First, pet detection requires a cloud subscription. 2nd, without a cloud subscription, when movement is detected it will only record a snapshot to the cloud, or a 12-second clip if you sign up for "Cam Lite" (I don't know whether they're accepting new sign-ups.) If you're recording on an SD card, you can go from the event screen to the same time on the local recording. I think Mallory didn't experience these limitations because there's a free cloud subscription included with a new camera for a short time.

I feel like these pet cameras have paid every content creator to advertise them and I can’t really tell if it’s actually worth it. So, thank you for saving me literally a couple hundreds of dollars! I just placed an order for the Eufy one!
One important thing to keep in mind is that Eufy recently had a major security incident where their video camera's were viewable by anyone with the url (especially concerning when they are recording our homes). Wyze also just released (today) a pan&tilt camera at around 35$

What works for me is the Rocki Smart pet camera you reviewed a while back :) sometimes I catch my cats prowling around and it’s kinda hilarious having a ground level view of everything

I thought this video was really educational. My family has a Nintendo switch and we sometimes use it to watch your videos on the television. I think your channel is really cool.
I use YI Home Cameras. The quality of the pictures are great and the audio is really good. What I like best is I can use a micro SD card and record everything 24 hours a day even if the motion detector is off. What I don't like is it does not have the feature for a smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector. I do like the idea of the Eufy and may have to try it out. Have used (4) Eufy 2k cameras for the past 2 years indoors and love them. We just use 128 gig SD cards in them with no cloud storage. The alerts are always sent to my phone and I can check on them also anytime I want to. I’m very pleased with them. (Their outdoor security cameras are great also.)
Yes. Nice idea. I will consider it. Trying to get videos or 📸 while we were away was like pulling teeth. Vita is my therapy cat but it would be too stressful for her to take her with me.
I'd say the most compelling @home cat camera is the Furbo, where I would use it for my goldfish. Also, would love if you upload attachable cat camera content and do a comparison. With Winter preoccupying the mood, my furball is at a stage where I need to view him while about in forest excursions.
Thanks for doing a review on cameras. My first cam was a pet cam too. But I have replaced that with regular cams. I have Wyze (the first one), it's pretty good but it's pricey in Australia. I paid around $120aud. The others I have now are Xiaomi and EBO. I am kind of satisfied with them all. My Ebo is the one that interacts with the cats, but they actually never played with it, I just chase them around with it. I do want to buy Eufy. After watching this video I think I will I vest on Eufy cam! Thank you
Thank you for the video, Mallory. I would want a camera that is unobtrusive or small enough to be hidden. Plus, my cat would end up wrestling with it or pushing it off of the shelf/surface - unless there is a mounting feature or a weighted base.
@@vistalite yes I have YI Home Cameras and it comes with something that screws onto the back of the camera that has holes in it to mount to the wall and the screws come with it. They have indoor, outdoor and dome cameras that can pan around.

Thanks for the reviews. Just a week ago I bought another camera and was researching too. My requirements were: the ability to control the camera remotely to move around the apartment and have night vision. In the end, I bought EBO AIR. It isn't cheap but it worth the price. I like this camera/robot for: no subscription, data saved in a local SD card which is included, funny movements which track the cat, it has security features as many static cameras, battery works for more than 30 minutes continually playing, and pet tracking. What could be improved: looks like it doesn't create a space map and sometimes it takes time to come back to the charging base, the cover is well designed but still are moments when it gets stuck, and controls of the movement could be improved. Overall, with this camera bot besides security when we aren't at home, our cat and we have another toy to play together. We do bot racing from our cat :D
I have the Wyze Cam v2 (fixed cam) and two of the Wyze Pan Cam (PTZ with motion tracking). I liked that they had a good feature set and were easy to set up, and were very reasonably priced. What I don’t like, and many others in the Wyze Forums have commented, is that Wyze seems to have placed many of the detection features behind a paywall, which used to be free when the fans were first released. They are really trying too hard to push their subscription services. I’m really only using one of them. That said, I wasn’t too enthusiastic about Eufy until seeing this video. I like that it has Motion Tracking, which many other cams don’t have.

perhaps but do they all have similar filters? mine will alert only on a pet detection, or sounds from my pet. can track my pet, two way communication and night vision. can set numerous zones of detection, doesn't require subscription, records to sd card and all to my phone. Doesn't need base station. Hard to beat for the price

Did you have any trouble with the cats trying to break into the treats in the dispenser? I have an auto feeder I had to give up on as my fur monsters figure out how to trigger in and remove the lid. MC's are too smart for their own good.
How do your cats do on hardwood floors? Do they slide around and crash into things? Where I live now has carpet. I might have to move into a place with hardwood floors.
That's a really fun question. My cats have had both hardwood and carpeting, and the only difference is that they are much more inclined to tear up the carpet. They don't slide and crash into things, definitely, but I guess a more playful and speedy kitty might have that issue. :)
Well, everyone reviews their camera footage differently. For me, personally, it was helpful to have over 24 hours of video available because I wasn't constantly checking and wanted to be able to find and download footage from the previous week.
A lot of these do not work for me since I really need something that's battery powered for my kitten Foster room.. but don't want to spend 2 to $400 on a camera every every time they destroy one...

I dunno. I assume pet camera contain a "popularity tax", making them more expensive than similarly functioning non-pet cameras. Its like pieces of cardboard are more expensive by far if they're sold for cats to scratch on. I just bought a $20 amazon Tuya brand camera and it works fine. I'm not aure i would ask more of a pet camera unless there was a button to remotely shoot a treat out of it. When's that feature coming? Me poor, me buy cheap camera, and expensive cat food. I have my camera in the top corner of each room. The cats can't get to it and it's really the best view in my opinion.

I have a pet cube can you please help me I called spectrum no help at all the pet cube works on 2 gigahertz I can't get it to work at all please help new sub.

I dunno. I assume pet camera contain a "popularity tax", making them more expensive than similarly functioning non-pet cameras.
Its like pieces of cardboard are more expensive by far if they're sold for cats to scratch on.
I just bought a $20 amazon Tuya brand camera and it works fine. I'm not aure i would ask more of a pet camera unless there was a button to remotely shoot a treat out of it. When's that feature coming?
Me poor, me buy cheap camera, and expensive cat food. Cat happy. The end.
