The fact that it teleports directly to the opponent seems like an accident, and is probably what most people are expecting arcsys to "fix" about it. Hey dude, really like your videos. Slightly off topic though, what do you think about the change to Hit's 236M? He did get some decent stuff this season but I think ArcSys crippled one of Hit's more important tools along with his 2L. Then again, it could just be that I rely on 236M too much and the change from wall bounce to sliding makes me feel like said change was pretty unnecessary. Just asking since you also play a good Hit.

Great video. I havent played DBFZ since Season 1 and im really excited now that my boy Frieza is now looking really good! This patch is the kind of patching SF5 needed tbh. It's a complete face lift to the game and is super refreshing. It's not just a "balance patch" like every game does. its a complete revamp of the engine and it feels so great.

Oki is just a setup after a hard knockdown, not a level 3. Like gt goku had good oki after his lvl 3 Bc he had so much time to create a mixup while the opponent was getting up from the hard knockdown. Another example of oki being krillin rock in corner, it’s a setup after a hard knockdown
If they take away the tracking the assist is fine. You can't use it in neutral at all since its hitbox is pretty bad. It will just be good for mixups and combos

Great video as always, I hope the cooldown time doesn't ruin all of the C assists. Some corrections I have to make here tho: Pre-Patch the 3 highest blockstun-assists were Kid Boo, Gotenks and Yamcha (not Base Goku). Vegeta Blue also has more if you count the first part of the move. 16 assist pre-patch was 38f (or 36f), not 50f. It was not that broken, thank god xD

It particularly sucks in neutral for instance, whereas Bardock B assist is literally good everywhere, and is an absolute "fuck neutral" toy. But ok...
I'm not getting all the ruckus around Bardock B assist. There are other B assists that also track on the ground, are faster or have bigger hitboxes. Gotenks donut tracks even on the air, Kid bu A has enough range and block stun to give mix to everybody, hit's new B assist covers more range faster and gives a wall bounce to confirm, etc, etc
With bardocks new assist you can play him with so many more characters now. For example Frieza who usually needs beam assist to get the best combos mid screen. Now you can play him with bardock! Anything that adds more options is a good thing kidbuu and gotenks have held heavy block stun assist hostage for the entire time and were they touched? No. It’s time to play other characters with the option of having tools from another

Bro that manual 17 EX call is the most busted thing I’ve seen in S3 so far. I fought a pride trooper 18 player who every time he would get an SKD on me, do the manual 17 EX Call and go for a mix, and I can’t see a damn thing at all because of the explosion. Lmao this season is nutty af 😂
Really informative! What do you feel are the best applications of DP assists? I've never really had much success with them when compared to beams, combo extenders, or assists with high hit stun. I'm a little disappointed with the assists they decided to give Gogeta and am trying to determine if there's any point in trying to use his DP assist.
If you skip to the end of the Teen Gohan 101 video I uploaded a while back, I should talk about it a bit and show some examples. But generally they're really quick, usually have some invul on them, and let you challenge the opponent up close without needing to actually commit to anything dangerous. Just get used to superjumping to confirm the hit on reaction. They're also really good to use alongside superdash, since they reach so high you can lock the opponent down even when they block your superdash in the air.
For real bro. I was speechless when I saw his B assist was just the second hit of his auto combo. Why give him something that wack when you could've given him rolling crush. Smh

The biggest thing I'm thinking about is using characters who used to have bad assists in anchor, and characters who used to have busted assists on point.

I play on xbox and the regular and the elite controller dpad both mess with my defense and combos.. because when i press the back button and hold it slightly up or down, the character will either jump or go down. do you have any reccomendations or controllers (custom?) or should i just consider buying a fight stick?
I think you can do well with any type of controller you want (pad, stick, hitbox, etc). If you would prefer a different type of pad, you could look up Brook brand converters which will let you plug in a PlayStation controller into an Xbox or vice versa
Just a little heads up, I've probably played like 1000 hours with the simple XBone controller and, as long as you use the DPad for blocking (I don't do it but I know I should) it really nullifies the badness of the joystick.
Honestly something I've been trying to lab out a solution to the issue with the stagger nerf because it also makes assists not come back in oki scenarios. I thought maybe I could get away with a C assist with adult Gohan and maybe do something like gogeta level 1>gohan level 1>air DR. Unfortunately you probably can't cover all options on wake up and get your assists back. I can cover up tech and back tech individually with a visually identical setup and get my assists back just not both for some reason.
Ginyu isnt frieza force either The ginyu force is a mercenary group that is second strongest with frieza being first. They have contract to work together

Na , i always used piccolo A assist and now its better and more rewarding on combos whit 2 orbs But i always used it to force some reactions , like force a super dash or force them to trow ki blasts , whatever the reaction is , its forced by that ki blast Its very good to set traps , just never try to dragon rush or grabs after the blast hits on block , for some reason it wiffs
the bardock assist is meant to be that good. theres no reason to nerf the move it's a move that's good on block when hes in play so why wouldnt it be good as an assist???
That assist don't reduce a lot the scaled damage??. I mean when you use it while playing tien it happen that, i don't know if it's the same working as an assist
@@santi3256 i play base goku. So having a paralysis assist helps land the spirit ball to spirit bomb combo easily. But you have to very accurate on ur inputs. But yeah these assists made dbfz a whole game
Nah man, I've been playing Frieza for a time and (I'm not a pro or close) his basic combos can be simple enough and a backdash between here snd there is always nice. Also, with the new addition of superdash after vanish it's easier now to do some nice damage after zoning

Golden Frieza can be used to amplify damage or make way more complex combos, these are hard, but keep on practicing he is a great character (and landing an unexpected grounded lvl 3 is awesome)

Cooler isn't a part of the frieza force... He is the leader of his own army. They are sibling rivals with Frieza being the chosen heir of King Cold.

None of that matters. They are the top frieza related characters in the game and frieza is the emperor of the universe. That's close enough for me
