- A lot of people asked for this a while back, so here it is. Of course, this isn't every time we hear this theme, these are just the samples that are available. Everything else is unreleased.

I hate how she had such perfect development and then it all went out the window from when Meteora zapped her. From there, it was just downhill. I miss Moon the Undaunted. The real Moon the Undaunted.
They decided to throw away a believable, well-developed and loving character for the sake of bloating the racism plot and having a ‘shocking’ but completely pointless plot twist in the finale. Moon was my second favourite character, just behind Janna, and it hurt seeing her character butchered by poor writing decisions
So what do you all think should they have done? Like making eclipsa queen again and this whole lineage stuff was so good! What are you ideas how they should have written moon(not a front question, just curiosity)
Tomaek Dude, I could make a list of how many things they could’ve done better with Moon
- Given her more screen time in season two and developed her warrior side (honestly, her fight with Toffee is the last fight scene in the entire series that I thought was done well)
- Shown more flashbacks of when she was first made queen, because we only got one and I feel they could’ve done so much more with that concept and shown her maturing from her former self
- Developed her relationship with River (this is the only issue I had with Moon all the way through. Her relationship with River was only really touched on in that one flashback. They could’ve done this when Moon lost her memories, it could’ve been a really heartwarming arc)
- Let her NOT have vague and stupid reasons for not trusting Eclipsa. Seriously, none of her reasoning made sense
- Have her be more involved in fixing the monster racism problem instead of contributing to the problem
- Let us actually see her with her mother in flashbacks. This could’ve paralleled Star and Moon’s relationship, and might’ve helped Moon grow as a character
- Cut out the stupid finale plot twist with her working with Mina. It made literally no sense and only painted her in the worst light possible
- This point is kind of just a personal thing, but I would’ve liked more episodes with Moon warming up to Eclipsa, because ‘Total Eclipsa the Moon’ was one of, if not my favourite episode of season three, and I felt Moon and Eclipsa had a really fun dynamic there
- Have her and Star convince the Magic High Commission to change their views and actually be likeable characters (I mean, I guess Hekapoo wasn’t completely screwed over, but her character was inconsistent as hell)
Those are the main things I’d personally like changed about Moon’s character. She had great potential, but the writers just used her as a selfish plot device
S4 made her stubborn and a confusing character to look at

The creators really ruined such a good character.
They made a great villain out of someone who seemed like a loving mother. Not something anyone expected from a Disney show.

@@Crazd22 no they didn't. listen, i do believe that maybe it would be a good plot twist, but the thing that's the turn off, is that it's so out of character and there's barely ANY build up. i would be fine if they did the plot twist, if y'know there was something changing in moon's character to lead up to it, but it was genuinely one of THE most RANDOM things about the finale.

Moon’s character has never really seemed to completely tolerate Eclipsa, so in a way, sure, it works. Or at least it would’ve worked if the previous season(s) didn’t revolve around Moon’s character development, where she became more reasonable and much more logical than she had been before. With that in mind, I most certainly agree that her character’s potential was wasted. She could’ve invented a new spell or whatever during the finale, but no, she had to become evil.
In other words, I don’t have anything against the concept of having Moon as a villain, I just believe they wasted seasons of character development to do so.
It really suits her it's strong and elegant but filled with pain

The entire teenage moon is amazing
It’s so cute
It's so sad and ironic at how Moon grew up to be Mama's girl (Comet really was a sweet queen and I hate Toffee for killing her), but Star's relationship with Moon was a strained one. Season 1 shows how strict and rather overbearing she was at times. The start of season 2, we see her slowly warming up. Nearing the end of season 2 (and especially Battle for Mewni), we see her as a tragic yet strong woman who deeply cared for her family. I was quiet disappointed at how she ended up nearing the end of season 4, like damn she had a great character development, only to be thrown out of the window after that betrayal. I am also glad that Star and Moon finally came together again in the end. Love this show btw.

But then again, that's kinda her life......

She isn`t a bad one - she did the best she could to save her people. Maybe she miscalculated, but it`s pretty hard to her after amnesia and Moon wanted to do this only for good reason
No, it doesn't. Making her out to be one of the secret bad guys in the end, especially in the manner that they did, went against *all* of Moon's development across the series and sullied her kind, wise, and caring image. She'd been learning to trust Star over the course of the whole show, but suddenly decided NOT to in the end? Eclipsa tried to kill Meteora for sake of protecting the kingdom, something Moon MUST have been informed of, yet she still held a grudge over Eclipsa's mistake? Really? After she risked so much to help her find out the truth about her daughter, and stood with her and Star against the High Commission?
@Chiharu Mukae I genuinely mean no offense, but this is such a shallow observation to make.
First of all, Moon's painful past has NOTHING to do with her final decision whatsoever, unlike her story throughout the first three seasons. None of the circumstances surrounding the events of season 4 would've brought back any painful or traumatic memories, except for Eclipsa's betrayal, and Moon subsequently being separated from her family (which is all that ever gets mentioned btw). In general, Moon had been learning to move on from her bigotry, controlling nature, traumas, and silent anger over the course of the first three seasons. Her bigotry against monsters is literally gone by season 4 (as seen when she has no real qualms with the idea of Globgor being released, her absolute detest of the yurt people's own racism toward them, and her rapport with Buff Frog). She doesn't feel the need to be so controlling anymore either, actively avoiding any kind of responsibility until her own sense of compassion and pity forces her to reluctantly manage people again. Her past with Toffee was settled with his death too.
Literally the ONLY thing driving Moon to move against Eclipsa, besides her concern for her people (which she would've normally handled so much more peacefully, especially after she spent so long learning to trust her daughters judgment) was her grudge against her, and by then it literally didn't make any sense, nor fit with the way the story had developed up to that point. No no, the real problem people have is that the writing of the twist ITSELF was bad. Not the character.
Believe me, (ignoring the end of season 4) Moon is my second favorite character in the whole show, and I agree she herself doesn't deserve to be hated. BUT, that doesn't make what she did any less stupid or unworthy of frustration. At the end of the day, the writers failed her. And nothing from her (mostly settled) past justifies it's existence.
IT's so sad that they murdered the character :/

I understand why you hate the finale, I mean, every time I watch it I'm always like "MAN IT CAN'T BE LIKE THAT I NEED A SEASON 5 COS IF NOT THIS IS A TOO OPENED FINALE FOR ME", but I know that It wouldn't be possible, if they will do it they have to sacrifice something. Or the love relationship to make them "friends" to go to adventures like they always did, or they have to make the episodes with other characters as a protagonist. They won't and shouldn't do that. Apart from this, I don't hate the finale because I think about how a parson in that situation may feel. Come on, she's a girl, hypotetically a 16/7 years old one, imagine being in that situation. Ok, I mean, It's irrealistic, but think about a teen that never had a peaceful moment in more than a year, that wants to live her life, with family and friends, especially after finding out what the high commission did and finding out what her family history was (a lie). It would be rough, if you think, maybe you would act the same way in an hypotetical alternative diemnsion in which is happening the same thing you know
Even if the plot was bad, we can all agree the music is the best.

@@conscripthornet4430 The other day I finished season 3 again and thought that it was a poor decision to have Star give the kingdom back to Eclipsa. I think season 4 could've started with Moon still MIA and Star leading the kingdom maybe with Eclipsa's help until Moon is found or they make a decision. It wasn't Star's line's fault for having the kingdom, it was Shastacan and the MHC who didn't want a half-monster on the throne
This theme is demanding of attention but is filled with sorrow while powerful
ugh. seeing how amazing she was earlier in the show (season 1-3) then the creators of the show threw all her development out the window for a terrible plot in season 4 just makes me so mad. i loved seeing her past when she took toffees finger, and when she talked to meteora when she was younger. i loved seeing her interaction with toffee when he said star had died in the wand. i loved all the parts with moon in this show, this epic queen with insane fighting powers, then in season 4 her character just got ruined. honestly a shame.

Moon was a great character except for season 4, and her theme make it feel like she could have her show.
Moon is my ultimate favourite queen and my second favourite character in the show. I found it very disappointing to see how they squandered the potential of some of their characters and the story itself just for the sake of a supposedly "BLOWMINDING" plot.

The fact that she was capable of understanding monsters and others like Buff-frog is such wasted potential for her to warm up to Eclipsa and eventually realize she is a mother too who just wanted to keep her child and husband safe and have a future for them. They literally threw her whole arc away just for a dumb plot twist

Moon has an amazing theme, and it works really well for some of the show’s most intense scenes. Probably the one thing we really lost out on with Star’s theme was that it never really got used in high-intensity scenes because it was too light.
Yeah. The different variants of her theme that played during the episode Moon the Undaunted were probably some of my favorites in the show, and the track that played as she finally got her victory over Toffee and avenged her mother always gave me chills ✨️
Well Star IS an expy of Serena/Sailor Moon in a sense. Her music is suppose to sound like that
If only the creators weren't so hell bent on having the racism plot be so big... They really screwed over all of Moon's development just to make her an even bigger racist... Would've loved to see more Moon and Eclipsa bonding, heck Eclipsa could've shown Moon that monsters aren't bad people, but alas the writers just... Yikes. Wish season 4 could be completely rewritten
