Fair play you deffo deserved a session like that. I live in wales and bass fishing is tough. You have given me confidence to try the open beach one day...
Wow great video. I use single’s rather than trebles and crush the barbs too. I still catch as many but unhooking and releasing so much easier and faster 👍🏼
Epic session indeed Wayne 😎. I watched it back at the time, but just realised I did not do it with my youtube account. So thumb up 👍as always 😉. Open beaches are often overlooked for lure fishing as not holding any "visible" structure, but can often be very productive!
I've been lure fishing for the past 2 months, used to fish all the time when i was younger, I've had good luck recently, caught lots of small ones, yet to catch a nice big one.
A few of us fished Pembrokeshire the week before the comp but didn't bother with the actual competition, we only had a few decent bass between us but had loads of small bass up the river on metals. Lovely place but the fish just weren't there. That comp weekend was a washout for sure.
Thank you! I haven't had a session like that in a long time, it was very welcoming. When I do keep fish it's usually trout, I'm the only one in my house that eats it so the fish are lucky really😁
Good to see you catch in open water. It’s where it’s at and all the more rewarding for it especially when there’s some swell. I half expected a call on the Saturday of the comp - wet fisherman needs shelter🤣. It was so miserable I sparked up the Woodburner in the morning to stop the dog shivering 😮.
Great vid. Thanks for sharing. Good to see they’re out there. No luck my end but this just encourages me to get out a bit more. 👍🏻 BTW: you using mono? Do you use a leader and which rod is that please. I normally go out on the kayak and my rod is only 7’ is a longer one that much better from the shore? Keep ‘em coming always enjoy watching your fishing expeditions - entertaining! And your enthusiasm is so catching. Love it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
They are out there, it's finding them that's the hard part 🤣 I use 25lb braid on all my reels the majorcraft dangan is the ticket luresedge.com/products/dangan-x-braid-150m-green?variant=44417482359099 I feel a bit longer rod is better fro shore yes, you can load it up a bit more to get the lure out a bit further I also use a fluorocarbon leader about 3ft. @@Anglingaddict75 thanks. That’s great. Yep finding the buggers is one thing getting them to take the lure is another matter all together. 8’6” 👍🏻 I might treat myself and try a bit more shore fishing. 🤞🏻 thanks for great content and replies. Very useful very helpful. I’m sure I’ll get down to your shores before this summer finishes. Keep ‘em coming. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes, do more open beach! A whole new ball game. Plus, safer! I don't mean that in a wimpy way, just as a female who goes solo! I want to head down to the South Coast in November, but a hell of a long way for the day!😂
Wayne what a cracking session! I have a silly question but legit .. do you wash your lures after each session ? As far as the hooks you use with soft plastics do you use new hooks every time or sharpen them with a file before you use them ? And if your lures have trebles do you use straight from box or change them to a preferred sharper brand or a brand that does not corrosive easily ?
Personally, I only wash my rod & reel, but don’t bother with lures after a session. I’ll occasionally run a fine sharpener over the hook tip if I don’t loose the hook before it needs it. I always use the trebles that come on the lure, then when they need to be replaced, (some do rust fairly quickly,) I’ll use a single hook instead. I’ll normally look for a stainless single so they don’t corrode like the normal steel hooks. By the way, there’s no such thing as a silly question. Keep asking, it’s how we all learn from one another.
No question is a silly question! After every session... no BUT I should to be fair, would save me a lot of money (yes I still pay for them even though I have my shop😁) The hooks I use stay pretty sharp to be fair, if I find they are getting dull, I just change them. As for trebles, it depends on the manufacturer, fishus lures are used straight out of the box, there haven't been many brands where I needed to change if I'm honest.
Wow. Simply wow. What a session. I can honestly put my hands up and say i am jealous. Ive been out over a dozen times, all times of day, tide states, weather conditions and literally had no fish, ZERO! You bring my motivation knowing that these godly sessions do exist, but cant help but feel it must be something im doing? Im not sure, either way ill keep trying! Hope you keep smashing it though dude, top video as always! Tight lines 🎣

Comp weekend was dreadful 😫
Fishing a comp when you live 4 hours away and don't know the area is not an easy task!
Great session that mate 🙌🏻🎣
Epic session. Great to watch. Thanks.
Gosh darn it what a fantastic session Wayne, definitely not boring. And if you keep the odd fish anyway, surely that’s up to you 💪🎣🐟
Thank you!

@@Anglingaddict75 It’s funny how things work out like that, shame about the competition but it’s worked out well in the end 💪🎣🐟
Sorry to hear about Pembs, it was a difficult weekend for lots of people, but that session made up for it!
Brilliant bud just shows if you don't try you won't find out ❤
Exactly!!
Well done, great video. Thanks for sharing 👍.
What a session! If only it was like that more often! Proper red letter day for an open beach like that! Awesome stuff!
Tell me about it!
It probably won't happen like that again for a while.
Right Time right place!
Loads of fun! Thanks for posting. All I caught this evening was three tiny pollack. 👍And great stuff saving the fish that swallowed the whole lure.
But what you have to tell yourself is, it wasn't a blank!
@@Anglingaddict75 Absolutely agree. My closest spot is often very quiet fish wise, but I love being down there, and, it's very close! 👍

It sucked! 🤣🤣
Wet is an understatement, I still get flashbacks from that weekend 😅
I love your Enthusiasm Dudeee.
Doing the business, what a session! My best ever session is 3 in cornwall. Bass fishing jealously there, good work dude😎👌🏻
What a session, well done fella..
nice healthy fish good to see you back dude
Awesome, well done mate! Never had a session like that! Love that you kept at it and it paid off.
I haven't had a session like that in a VERY long time, it was very welcoming 🙃
One of those lures just landed in my mailbox yesterday. Just need some fish to make an appearance down here in Plymouth. Great vid bud 👍😎
With the Espetit on, they will 😉

What was that orange clip thing you used when retrieving the whole lure from the mouth?
Those are "lip grips" helps so you don't get a hook through your finger.... that hurts!
Don't anyone say that's not a hell of a day's bass fishing 😊
It was a red letter day that has been a long time coming that's for sure!
